Midweek already. My sis and the girls and I decided to drive down to Kalmar for some shopping and looking around in stores. We had a lovely day and had a nice lunch in town too. I found a few things which was nice. Love the stores there – a lot of new things to choose from. My parents went to do some shopping too but in Borgholm while the boys were working.
The girls made dinner tonight – a chicken casserole with pasta. Yum! We haven’t had that much pasta this vacation. Tonight we have played “Wingspan” a couple of times before it was time to hug the pillow. Another sunny day has come to an end.
Easter weekend is over and now I have four more days of vacation to enjoy. My hubby will work from our paradise but at least he’s here with us.
After breakfast me and my sis went to get more groceries. After lunch me and my parents went for an hour long walk – it is slightly chillier today and a bit windy so not as spring-like as it was yesterday. But still very nice weather to be outside. My mom cooked dinner tonight – burgers with boiled potatoes, panfried onions and gravy. Yum.
And since it is Tuesday.. special treat tonight enjoyed with a bottle of fizz – the real stuff. Not bad. Thank you, mom, for sharing your birthday present!
What a nice sunny day. We’ve had a great Easter weekend! No wind and just lovely weather outside. Today we have been working in the garden again – my dad and brother-in-law went to get some garden earth and grass seeds so we could fix the lawn.
After lunch it was time to take our youngest to the long-distance bus back home. Tonight he arrived safely to our house after a long day of travel. Everything went well and he is settled in ready for school tomorrow.
My sister made dinner tonight – her special beef roulades filled with blue cheese. Yum! After dinner we played board games and enjoyed a quiet evening. Another amazing sunset. Good for the soul.
Another lovely sunny day. Wonderful. We’ve been working outside. Took a nice walk after a delicious left-over lunch (the best left-over lunches are the ones after the smörgåsbord dinners) together with my parents, hubby and nieces.
Around 5 PM we packed ourselves into two cars and drove into Borgholm for the traditional Easter dinner at “Sörens”. Great food at a very nice homy restaurant. I chose salmon with mash, F had ribs and my hubby and M chose the sirloin steak. Mmm.
Ended a great day together with a game of “Wingspan”. Last day when it is all 10 of us – tomorrow F will take the bus back to the real world again.
A lovely sunny day spent doing this and that. My parents went for a drive up north, my oldest niece met up with a friend. My hubby and brother-in-law have been working outside giving the wood chipper a run for its money cutting all the branches we cut down last weekend. Now the huge pile is gone. Yeah.
Then the kids had their traditional egg-hunt, we’ve been painting and decorating eggs for the Easter dinner, cooking & preparing all the food. An Easter Saturday ending with a lovely “smörgåsbord” and then boardgames for the gamers, tv for the rest of us. A late dessert with canned fruit, whipped cream and vanilla ice cream while checking our scratching lottery tickets. No big wins but three of us won a new ticket. Maybe the big win is on one of those? Fingers crossed.
Best birthday. To wake up in our paradise. My hubby and boys are here. My sis w/ family are here. My parents are here. I know, mostly to celebrate Easter but today they are here for me! Lol.
I made a chocolate cake yesterday and today me and my youngest niece made this cake – a spongecake with meringue and whipped cream decorated with fresh fruit and berries. My uncle came over for afternoon coffee and my parents-in-law and aunt Gertrud came by to surprise me for my birthday too. So – quite a big celebrations with all 14 of us. I received many presents but the best one was to see everyone here in our paradise.
We made a nice sirloin steak dinner with potato gratin and pepper sauce. Yum! And we toasted in some bubbly while waiting for dinner to get ready. After dinner me and my hubby took a walk around the block as the sun set and the moonshine was amazing too. Unfortunately my stomach didn’t approve of all these goodies so I ended up going to bed early. Hopefully I’ll feel fine tomorrow.

Maundy Thursday – Skärtorsdag. It was raining during the night – the sound woke me up quite early.
After breakfast four of us drove down to Köpingsvik for some grocery shopping and a quick look around in the store nearby. They had quite a large selection of these pretty flowers but since we are not staying here for long we didn’t get any. And it is still a bit too cold outside – almost frost during the nights – for them to survive.
Tonight we have played board games while waiting for my hubby and boys to arrive and finally they did. No problems during the way but they needed an extra hour to get here. But, finally all ten of us are here and will celebrate Easter together. Perfect!
Today we have been working outside for a bit trying to cut the arbor of lilac bushes which has been overtaken by another plant of some sort. It’s been quite a grey chilly day so no long walk today.

Tomorrow my boys will arrive and the whole family will be together for a couple of days for Easter break. Lovely. Fingers crossed the sun will be shining!
What a day. So quiet. So peaceful. No wind – just a nice sunny calm day. We went for a nice hour-long walk which was just perfect. Enjoyed our coffee outside sitting on the porch. Lovely.
My aunt and uncle and their grandkids came over for a chat and a coffee. Lovely. My aunt and the kids are going back to town tomorrow so it was very nice that we could see each other for a bit.
Also, we’ve been busy bees today changing around our living room. We decided to try to switch the furniture to create a better space for watching tv and playing games. A great opportunity to clean behind furniture we seldom move and get all the carpets outside for a good whipping. I think the room turned out great – now we just need to adjust some of the wall outlets and electric wall heaters. Next task.
Monday and time for grocery shopping. Us girls drove in to Borgholm to stroll around for a bit and after a nice “fika” we went to the grocery store and bought a lot of stuff for the next couple of days and Easter.

My cold has changed into a runny nose and a different kind of cough. No fever but a slight ache in my body. So far no one else has gotten sick – not even my hubby – so that is great. Two days in paradise with just us four – then some more family members will join us Wednesday and Thursday. Lovely.
