Back to life

Sunday already and time for my hubby to return to the boys in town. After a nice breakfast he packed the car and started the long drive back. I feel a lot better today – no fever – but still cough. It’s been a windy sunny day so we dared to take an hour walk this afternoon in a very slow pace. Nice.

We haven’t done much today but spending quality time together. After dinner we watched some TV and finished the snacks from last night – cheese & crackers.

My hubby arrived safely back home and will spend the week with the boys. They will join us on Friday for Easter weekend.

Family arrived

Saturday and a day filled with mixed weather – just like yesterday. I got up a bit earlier since I am bothered by this cough and didn’t want to disturb my hubby. After a quiet morning we decided to drive up to Sandvik to see if we could get some lunch but everything was still closed for the season so we ended up buying some stuff at the grocery store instead.

Made a lasagna this afternoon and my hubby baked some bread so my parents and sister could enjoy a nice meal when they arrived in time for dinner.

I am very tired tonight – might have some fever – so I’m going to bed early. Hopefully I will feel better soon.

Paradiset

Woke up this morning and enjoyed a hotel breakfast. So nice. Haven’t had that in ages.

After breakfast we checked out from the hotel and started our journey to our paradise. Already half way there the drive was not as long as it normally is. We stopped for lunch in Kalmar and went grocery shopping in Borgholm. When we got there it started to hail, then rain, very windy but as we arrived the sun came out for a bit. Perfect. Then the bad weather started all over again. Lol.

Texted with our boys who remained in town. They seem to be coping perfectly alright without us. Great to have some quality time just me and my hubby – all alone in our paradise before my sis and parents will join us tomorrow. Now a coffee, movie and Friday snacks.

100 years old

A very special day. My hubby’s great aunt turns 100 years old today and had invited the closest family and friends to a lovely celebration in Västervik. Starting with a champagne toast in the afternoon to be followed by an amazing 3-course-dinner. We had a lovely time.

She received this greeting from the king & queen of Sweden. Wow.

After a long day we crashed in our bed at the floating hotel Slottsholmen. Very comfortable room and very quiet. Lovely. What a nice party and I believe the birthday girl had a nice celebration too.

So tired after a long day and me not being 100% well with an annoying hacking cough. Tested myself twice before we left to make sure I would spread the corona virus around. Both tests came back negative of course. I have been feeling fine besides the cough – otherwise I would have decided to not attend. But hopefully I was able to keep a distance and not give my cough to anyone else.

Time off

Last day of work for a while. Hopefully we will have some time to gain energy and get a proper break from all the work-thoughts. A lot of things going on and they disturb my sleep.
Tomorrow me and my hubby will attend a big birthday celebration with an overnight included. Our boys will stay here at home by themselves for a few days before their dad returns this weekend. I will fill you in as the days go by.

A moment in time

The construction by Slussen is not making any visible progress. I wonder for how long these cranes will be a part of the city view.

Had lunch with a dear friend today and we had a great catch up about this and that.

Long day at work and quite busy all day. Not enough hours though but I think I got most done. It was snowing a lot as I went home. My hubby is away at a work-thing tonight so it’s just me and the boys. Leftover for dinner and now a whole pot of tea with some honey just for me. Lovely.

First line support

Being in first line support can be challenging. Especially when neither you or the person who needs your help can explain in a clear way what seems to be the problem. I have this sign at work which I think describes a situation that occurs more often than I’d like it to and often it is me trying to describe a problem to the poor technicians at support.

It’s been raining most of the afternoon today. This morning it was snowing when I went to work. Very boring weather. Made a roast dinner and now we’re watching a new episode of “Annika”.

Dark clouds

Managed to sleep in a bit this morning. After lunch the sun was shining so we went for a long walk around the lake. During the walk the sky got more and more filled with dark clouds and now it isn’t as sunny and lovely outside anymore. Maybe there will be more snow before the day is over.

My oldest is over at his friends house this afternoon so it will only be three of us for dinner. Right now my hubby is away with my brother-in-law to help him pick up some stuff for their renovation. I have started on a new jigsaw puzzle and plan what to pack for my time away. A nice Sunday with plenty of time to relax. Perfect.

Shrimps

A sunny Saturday with our regular chores to start with. After lunch the whole family took a walk over to my parents for some coffee and cake. We tried to put up the weather-station we gave my dad but didn’t really manage to complete the mission. But, we know what we need to get to manage to put it up. One step at a time.

Tonight I treated myself shrimps for dinner. Mmmm. Haven’t had that in ages. With a nice glas of white bourgogne. The boys had a nice sirloin steak so they got a treat too. One more day of the weekend to enjoy. Lovely.

April fools

March came and went. Today we welcome April – the month of spring. And the last collection card from the stack of winners in the Melodifestivalen was very appropriate – April April !

Friday again and another weekend to enjoy. Picked up a thai take away tonight and now we’ve crashed in front of “Masked Singer” after some time in the spa while the chocolate cake was in the oven. Tea with freshly baked cake – life is not so bad.
