Windy

This morning it was really windy and the waves were quite big when we took our morning swim. No rain today but at one point it was 11m/sec in the wind so we had the pennant up instead of the flag.

We have been busy bees all day and shifted some of the old piles of wood in the garden. Ordered new wood oil for our porch on line – thought we’d try a home delivery service from Kalmar which is very inexpensive right now due to the virus. 49SEK for home delivery! Let’s hope it will arrive before we have to return home. No delivery date stated yet. Lol.

BBQ again tonight – pork flare fat wrapped in bacon and served with a feta cheese baked cucumber, watermelon sallad and oven baked potatoes. Yum. And we made a gooseberry crumble with vanilla custard for a treat tonight. Yum again.

Rain

This morning it started to rain on our way down to the ocean for our morning dip. As we walked on to the bathing pier it was almost as if it was hail coming down. But the water was lovely with 19.3C. Thunder, lightning and rain all morning so we stayed indoors and watched movies and played games.

In the afternoon it stopped raining and me and my oldest niece drove into town to pick up a package with a few things I had ordered online. By dinner time the weather was ok and we could have our dinner outside. My sister made her delicious roulades – yum!

We watched a movie together after dinner and had a nice day together despite of the bad weather. It is good for the garden and now all the barrels are filled and we will have a lot of rainwater to water our plants with.

Sara

Nothing is the same this year so we will have to make the most of things. No chocolate-cake for Sara – but amazing cinnamon buns instead. So glad we have our little bakers here who provide us with all sorts of goodies.

We have been working in the garden all day – my sister, husband and oldest niece anyway. I have done laundry and food preparations – but no hard work. Tonight we are going to bbq salmon and pork served with potatoes and veggies. It has been another sunny but quite windy day today. 19.3C in the ocean this morning.

Groceries

Weekend already. After the morning dip in the ocean and breakfast we went up to Sandvik to throw away stuff at the waste disposal site and also get groceries at Trossen. We try to purchase for 5 dinners at a time to not have to go to the stores so often.

My turn to cook dinner tonight so I made lasagna for us and burgers with pasta for my son. It turned out pretty good and we could sit outside. It is almost 30C outside today and close to 20C in the water. Lovely.

I took this photo from the waste disposal site – the view is over the ocean Kalmar Sund with the island Blå Jungfrun in the horizon.

Weekend

Can’t believe my first week off has already come to an end. What happened? Where did time fly? Today I have polished more windows. But other than that I have been relaxing and not done much all day. Morning dip at 17.5C this morning.

Tonight we bbq pork filet and my aunt and uncle joined us and we had a lovely dinner together outside. A perfect sunny day in paradise. Now movie night (It 2) with a glass of wine and some snacks.

House chores

Started the day with a dip in the ocean before breakfast – as the tradition says. 18C in the water. Not too bad.

Today I have taken care of our house – vacuuming and cleaning the windows. Getting rid of all the spider webs from last winter. Felt really nice. Put in the new yellow rag rug in our kitchen – very summery and pretty!

We bbq chicken tonight and after dinner we took a walk along the coastline. It was such a beautiful evening and the sunset tonight was absolutely stunning. Life is good.

Paradise

Long time no sea. Good things come to those who wait. Finally we’re here again. Feels like ages ago since we couldn’t be here all spring like we usually are. At least an Easter visit anyway but this year we were not allowed to travel due to the COVID19 restrictions.

The trip went well with no delays and hardly any traffic at all. 6hrs later we arrived safely in our paradise. A lovely sunny first day and my sis w/ fam welcomed us with a burger dinner outside. Tonight we have played board games and watched some TV. Let the big calm arrive and may this visit bring us lots of new energy and a peaceful mind.

Victoria-day

Happy birthday, Victoria. Usually we spend this day in our paradise but this time we are still in town for the occasion. I am a bit embarrassed though – we haven’t actually raised the flag but both my parents and sis have so 2 out of 3 is pretty good, ha?

Still working a bit every day but not too bad this vacation so far. Today I had to start my computer for a bit though – before I have managed to assist via my cellphone.

Ran a few errands this morning but have been a couch potato this afternoon watching Chicago P.D. It’s addictive. Lol.

First day off

First official day of vacation. And no rain today. Yet. Lol.

Started my day with physio but not quite as early as I usually go on Mondays. Managed to sleep in until 8 – yeah! After lunch I took my youngest to a doctors appointment – no more appointments until mid August. Yeah again!

We bbq pork filet for dinner served with boiled potatoes and 5-pepper sauce. Yum. Now we’ve crashed in front of the tv with a cold beer (ginger beer for my husband) and a Netflix-movie called “The Old Guard”.

Wild strawberries

Another day with mixed weather – we worked some outside until lunch but then the sky opened up and we got soaked in rain. We have wild strawberries growing all over our garden – not where we want but where they want. Lol. But they are delicious nonetheless.

A lazy afternoon watch episodes of Chicago P.D. Love these Chicago-series. Just finished watching Chicago Fire. And then there’s Chicago Med too. What I like about them is that they are all about the same people and the same crimes & incidents but from three different perspectives.

Doing a lot of laundry today – might as well since we are not going anywhere.
