This morning it was raining as we went down for our dip in the ocean. Brrr. But after breakfast the sun came out and it has been one of the best days so far – weather-wise.

Our husbands have been working hard today with our new wooden deck. A lot left to do but so far so good.

My sister picked up S and her friend today who will be staying with us for a couple of days. So now we have people living in all our houses again.

Tonight we bbq bacon wrapped chicken filet and served it with spagetti with pesto. Yum. A lovely walk after dinner and then some time in front of the TV.

This morning it was only 17.3C in the ocean – don’t like the daily drop of temperature! But, K and I kept up the tradition. Rewarded ourselves with scrambled eggs on our toast for breakfast.

We realized that we should probably paint the wall facing the ocean before we build the porch. So, me and K went to get a liter of paint and I painted as high as I could reach and my husband stood on a ladder and did the rest. Done.

Tonight my sister is making sausage stroganoff with rise – yum! We are all very tired after all the work but also because it is still extremely windy (10m/sec). A sunny day – no rain so far. I hope it will stay sunny so we can make progress on our building project.

This morning it was only 17.9C in the ocean – brrr. Funny how a half a degree can seem so much colder.

We went grocery shopping to Källa today and came back with a car filled with food for the next 5-6 days.

It’s been a very windy day with 12meters/sec (26.88 miles/hour) in the evening. We took the flag down again. It’s been sunny and raining off and on but we have started our building project in-between the showers.

I did my physio and also took a 2.2k walk. All the youngsters came along which was great. They need to walk some! My youngest niece was picked up by a friend of hers this afternoon and will stay with her family for a couple of days before they both return and stay here for another couple of days. So only six of us for dinner tonight.

Tonight I made a wok with two kinds of meat and noodles. Veggies on the side. I think it went down well. We watched another movie together after dinner – the third Tommy Lee Jones- movie in a row. He’s a great actor. Tonight we saw “Double Jeopardy” from 1999.

Tuesday already. Time flies. Can’t believe we’ve been here for 2 weeks tomorrow. Today it’s been sunshine and rain every other hour. We received the timber we had ordered which was great since they first said it would arrive on Thursday. Gave us a couple of extra days. Yeah!

Me, S and J took a 45min walk after lunch and I also did my physio. Feels great to get my exercises done. 

Tonight we have bbq loin of pork and I made a potato sallad to go with. Yum. Now it is time to crash in our couch and watch “Allsången” and enjoy some Tuesday- treats (ice cream). 

After breakfast and our morning dip in the ocean we went to the garden flower shop in Borgholm to get some more flowers. When we came back we found this little visitor in our arbor. He/she sat still long enough for us to take a picture.

We cleared some leftovers for lunch and then J made burgers for dinner. After dinner my uncle and his family came over and we sat outside for a bit and talked over a glass of something to drink. A nice ending of a sunny day.

Me and S went for another walk today – we have been really good at talking daily walks. Last week we managed to walk 15k. I wonder how much we will manage this week.

Busy Sunday. Started as usual with a dip in the ocean. 18.5C today. Talked to a couple of ladies who asked about my parents – sweet of them!

We have oiled the porch today – first two layers with coat number 1 – two hours in-between. Now we have to wait 4 hours before we can give it a third layer with coat number 2. Maybe we’ll be able to complete all three layers today depending on the weather. It’s been grey and windy – some rain but not much.

Me and my youngest niece went for a long walk – almost 3k north along the coast and then 3k back. Took us about 1hr. I have also done my physio so now I have reached my goals for this week. Good job! Gold star for me!

Tonight I am going to make beef patties with potatoes, onions and home made pickled cucumber (grandma style). Maybe some gravy of some sort too. We’ll see.

A sunny and lovely Saturday in our paradise. 17.6C in the ocean this morning but it went up to around 20C during the day.

We picked up the wood oil from the delivery place and cleaned the porch. Maybe we can put the oil on tomorrow if the weather is good. 

Tonight we bbq steak and my oldest niece made stomped potatoes with garlic butter and parmesan cheese. I made boiled beetroots with feta cheese and thyme. All served with a green sallad and a nice glas of red. Yum! 

Tonight we have watched another movie together and enjoyed slices of cantaloupe and honey melons. 

Today it is my and my oldest niece’s names day. And my grandmother – where ever you are. Always celebrated here in our paradise with a strawberry cake – this year with a chocolate cake and strawberries / raspberries on the side. And some whipped cream. Yum. We have not raised the flag due to the terrible weather – it has been very windy and right now the rain is pouring down.

This morning me and K were the only ones taking a dip in the ocean. 18C and quite windy. No rain but a drop here and there. After breakfast me and my sister drove up to Löttorp for groceries and a visit to the liquor store to get some more wine. Tonight I will make a casserole with a lot of goodies served with a nice glass of red.

We have ordered the material from the lumber yard but we have not a delivery date yet. The wood oil has arrived to the store in Sandvik – so much for home delivery – lol. But, it is still way better than having to drive to Kalmar.

This morning it was only 17.6C in the ocean but we suffered thru and went in anyway. Brrrr.

The day has been filled with all kinds of weather – after breakfast it was sunny and warm so me and S went on a 3k walk. After lunch it started to rain and we even received some hail and it was quite windy again.

Tonight we had Caesar salad for dinner – yum! We bbq chicken and I made my own croutons. Served with romain lettuce, red onions, tomatoes, parmesan cheese and a boiled egg. Topped with Caesar dressing.

This morning it was only 18C in the ocean and quite big waves. I did my exercises (both physio and a walk) before lunch and then after lunch we decided to take a drive up to Högby lighthouse and also over to see Byrums sea stacks.  My son and brother-in-law stayed at home so we only needed one car. It was a lovely drive but as we were going back the weather turned and it started to rain and get very windy again.

Tonight we are having pasta with lightly smoked pork loin served with cream fraîche sauces. Lovely.
