Joy

Tonight I have been to the movies with a colleague. What a great idea – to go straight after work and catchimage a movie early so you don’t have to arrive home in the middle of the night. And what a great movie – a true story about a woman called Joy Mangano. An inventor, businesswoman and entrepreneur with around 100 patented inventions starting with the self-wringing Miracle Mop. A fascinating story. We loved it.

No handball tonight – but we struggled through and will play for the 7th position tomorrow. This means we will be able to play the qualifying tournament for the Olympics. I think it will take place in a couple of months or so.

New favorite

My sister had bought a cottage cheese snack a while back with driimageed blueberries & cranberries & hazelnuts in the lid to mix with the cottage cheese when eating it. A perfect snack. High on energy and low on calories. I enjoyed one today.

A perfect day in many ways – good day at work, got off early, bought groceries on the way home and made a delicious lasagna for dinner. While it was cooking in the oven I had a chance to sit down and enjoy the handball game towards Hungary which we won 22-14. Yeah! Fingers crossed Spain will defeat Russia tonight – that would give us a chance to qualify for the olympics. Go Spain!

Starstruck

img_20160126_074519.jpgLast night it was the yearly sports gala where they present the athlete of the year in different categories. This year they also gave out a special prize to honor these three amazing guys. Our pride and joy when they used to play for Tre Kronor. Legends in their sport. Together they have played close to 4000 NHL-games and scored about 3000 points. Amazing. Sweden has a lot of hockey-players to be proud of. No wonder the rest of the guests in the Globen Arena got all starstruck. (photo borrowed from TV4Sport)

Looking forward to the next game in the handball tournament. Facing Denmark tonight. Fingers crossed.

New week

I was so tired this morning. Had to drag myself out of bed. It is so very dark imagein the mornings and it will be for a long time yet. The sun rises at 08.15 right now. And I left at 06.45. I looked it up and I will have to wait until March 1st before the sun will rise at that hour.

Had lunch with a dear old friend today – it was great to see her! Always good to catch up and have a long chat and a nice lunch. We should do it more often.

Felt quite good when I was on my way home so I took a walk from the subway since it was still some daylight left. Nice.

Sunday

Lazy morning in my corner watching the image“Stjärnorna på Slottet” finale from yesterday. I don’t know what it is about that show but I find it really interesting with all their stories about their lives. They gather 5 stars in a castle – usually actors – and let one host one day each. So one season is only 5 episodes. The first season was sent back in 2006 – and I think I’ve seen all seasons. Some of them more and some of them less interesting. I wonder who will be participating next year. Can’t wait.

My parents gave me this lovely bouquet of tulips when they came over for dinner the other day. Few things brightens up the winter as tulips do. I love them! Have a great Sunday everyone!

A day in the slopes

Todaywpid-IMG_20140210_163615.jpg my husband took our youngest to Flottsbro for the first time this winter and they both came back home with a big smile on their face. They had a great couple of hours together – one on his snowboard and the other one skiing. Great!

The winter slowed down a bit – it is around 0C/32F today and a grey sky. It’s supposed to stay this way for the next week or so. Strange winter we have.

Friday!

A very busy week with a lot on – then Friday came and gave us aimage chance to see the family. I picked up some groceries on my way home from work. The subway was late due to someone needing medical assistance and as a result to that they have to try to speed up the traffic again and therefor didn’t let all the trains travel the whole distance. So, I only managed to get half way home and then I had to get off and wait for a new train. When doing this the trains get overly crowded and Fridays are extra bad since everyone want to get home in time and a lot of people carry extra bags with Friday goodies. Oh well. I got home eventually, cooked dinner and then my parents came over and we spent a great evening together watching handball on tv after supper.

International hug-day

Theme-days are becoming quite popular – this one was new to me ahug-day-4279nd I didn’t know about it before I was on my way to work this morning and was given a hug-card and a chocolate bar letting me know it was the international hug-day today.

So – happy hug-day all my friends and family.

Angels fly

Another really cold day today. “It’s too cold outside – for angels to fly” as the lyriänglar 2cs in Ed Sheerans’ “The A Team” song says. A great song by the way.

I have had a great afternoon seeing my mother whom I haven’t seen in a while. Just chatting over a coffee catching up. Time to breathe a bit. Lovely.

Important handball game tonight – last game in the group play. Fingers crossed it will go our way and that we qualify for the next round.

Healthy lunch

Long Tuesday at work and a healthy lunch. We sometimes order food from wpid-wp-1449596507648.jpgRydbergs and they have these health plates with raw spiced salmon (gravlax), cottage cheese, pine nuts, avocado and lettuce etc. Quite tasty! I’m not sure if it is only part of their take-away menu or if you can order it there too though.

We stayed at work quite late and stopped for a burger on the way home. And of course I missed my bus in Fruängen by, hm, 2 minutes. I refused to wait for half an hour since it was -10C so I decided to treat myself a cab home. I know, a huge luxury but I am sure I would have gotten the flue if I would have waited for the bus and God knows what would have happened if I would have walked back at this hour. Oh well. It was nice to get home safely, quickly and without freezing my butt off first.
