Påskdagen

Easter day – another sunny lovely day but a bit more windy. We attended Sunday mass – a nice tradition we started a couple of imageyears ago. This time we decided to go to Borgholms Kyrka where we have never been before. It was completely crowded and the last persons to arrive didn’t even get to sit and had to stand in the back of the church.

Outside the church on the big square they have put up this 4m high easter rooster. It was really well made and quite impressive. The most popular photo shoot this weekend!

We treated my uncle and his family Easter coffee and cake this afternoon. So nice to have the whole family together – just my cousins wife was missing. We had made a couple of chocolate cakes and bought some other goodies too.

This evening we enjoyed a filet of beef with potato gratin. Yum! Three rounds of the game “När-då-då” later it was time to go to bed. I made a hat-trick for the first time ever. Hehe.

Påskafton

imageWhat a morning to wake up to. Clear blue sky and the ocean looking like a big mirror. A nice breakfast and then time to start preparing the Easter smörgåsbord. I baked a chocolate cake for tomorrow since we won’t have time to do it then.

The guys have spent the day working on the ceiling in our latest extension of the house. I am so looking forward to getting this project completed – for several reasons. Just to get an extra bathroom will be a big treat. And the hallway to keep all the outdoor clothes and shoes in. Yeah!

Långfredag

We decided to set our alarm clocks just like any other workday imageto get an early start. We left a cold and rainy Stockholm at 07.30 and arrived 6,5 hrs later to our paradise. No traffic on the roads and just a few raindrops.

A couple of hours later my sister and her family arrived. My mother had prepared a fantastic dinner with pork filet. Yum. After dinner we played “Sequence” for a bit before we crashed in front of the tv for an episode of Let’s Dance. A great first day in paradise.

Skärtorsdag

The last day of imagework before the holidays completed. I am totally exhausted. Can’t even seem to think straight. Decided to try and clear my head by walking back from the subway. It is a beautiful day today and it feels almost like spring again. It wasn’t a quick walk but I got home in the end. Listened to some music while walking – felt a bit like meditation. Managed to breathe again.

Time to pack and get ready for paradise. Can’t wait.

Globen

Short day at work – had an appointment with my orthoptist thisimage afternoon. I need new glasses. But then I knew that already, that’s why I had booked the appointment. So, now I need to make another appointment with a regular optician to try out new glasses. I will deal with that after the Easter break.

Since the orthoptist had her practice close by where my sister works I stopped by at her office afterwards to say hello and enjoy a chat and a quick coffee. Small silver linings to cherish!

More snow

Anotheimager set-back weather-wise. More snow and still frost during the night. When will spring arrive?

Terrible news from Brussels with the terrorist attacks. Felt a bit scary to ride the subway home to be honest. Where is this world going? Going to light some candles tonight and give thanks for what we have and send a thought to everyone who had to experience all the madness today in one way or another.

Easter week

In a couple of days it is time to celebrate Easter. Gather the imagefamily around a lovely feast of Easter treats. I have started to build a pile in the living room – a habit of mine – with things we need to bring. I find it easier to remember everything if I can put it together as it goes.

Tonight the boys and their cousin are attending one of the mandatory trainings on their way to get their drivers licenses. One mandatory training left after that. Plus a lot of driving practice. And a written test in the end.

Vårdagjämning

Day of spring equinimageox – vårdagjämning – and the snow came back last night… Oh well. One step back again. But, it is getting warmer every day. And the days are getting longer and longer. There is still hope even with the snowy setback.

My oldest just sent in his application to the Royal Institute of Technology – KTH. Wow. Fingers crossed he will be accepted. Can’t believe he is graduating in a couple of months. When I was his age I graduated from highschool in sunny California but that was 29 years ago. Where did all those years go?

Saturday morning

Saturday morning and not able to sleep. Oh well. A cozy start in my corner with some breakfast is nice too. Still froswpid-img_20140501_111322.jpgt outside in the mornings so only a few flowers have dared to show themselves in the garden. A couple of snowdrops in bloom but that’s about it.

The indoor championships in athletics has started so even though it is early there is plenty to enjoy on the tv. And soon Vinterstudion will begin. I’m not going anywhere yet.. Have a great Saturday!

Me-time

What a week but now it is Friday and I had some me-time plannimageed after work. A well needed naprapath-treatment to enjoy. A perfect ending of a busy week.

When I got home dinner was on the table and now I am tucked in my corner with a glass of red (Californian Zinfandel of course..). Not too bad.

And no plans all weekend. That doesn’t happen too often. Wow. Life is not so bad.
