Why is it so impossible to sleep in when you are allowed to? Didn’t sleep so good all night, to be honest. Decided to enjoy a quiet morning while the kids were still asleep so I got up, took a shower, and then made myself a batch of American pancakes with maple syrup. Yum! What a way to start the day!

Been a busy bee, as usual, with laundry, planning for the upcoming graduation and getting a few things organized. Now a lovely afternoon cheering on our hockey team as they are playing the first game in the World Championships in Ice hockey facing Latvia today. Fingers crossed they will play a good tournament and maybe come back with a nice trophy of some sort. First challenge is to be top 4 in their group so they can advance to the quarter finals.

A fantastic day weather-wise. We worked outside in the garden all morning. Then made some hot dogs for lunch and sat outside to enjoy them. First time this year! 

After lunch we went to the movies for some afternoon fun since we had a day off together. The boys wanted to see “Captain America – Civil War” and it was quite ok. Not my favorite kind of movie but Robert Downey Jr is never wrong.. Lol. Fun to do something together!

Short day at work and then I had a “date” with the piano tuner. Now I have been listening to him going over the piano for the past hour and half. But, I’m not complaining. Sitting outside, in the sunshine, enjoying my coffee. And now the piano is as good as new again. Yeah.

Might bbq tonight ..

Second day in a row that I managed to get myself to take a walk back from the subway. Yeah. Feels good to get moving again and the weather really inspires me too. And they have promised sunshine all week. Extra yeah!

Can’t believe how quickly time flies. Already May. And in a month summer holiday starts. My boys have worked so hard this year – I am so very proud of them both. Fingers crossed they will get into the schools they have applied for so they can enjoy their summer off.

Finally some warmer weather and sunshine. They have promised nice weather all week. Yeah. And this is a short week since it is Ascension Day on Thursday and therefor a short day on Wednesday. I have taken Friday off so I can enjoy a long weekend.

I took a walk home from the subway today – a perfect way to rewind and relax a bit. Then I was a busy bee all afternoon doing laundry, ironing, fixing dinner. Now some corner time enjoying the next episode of Game of Thrones.

May 1st. A national holiday. Too bad it is Sunday today – I like it better when it occurs on a weekday. Tomorrow it is my oldest nieces birthday – she turns 17. We all gathered together for cake and coffee today to celebrate her and bring her lots of presents!

It was an amazing afternoon and we were able to sit outside in the sunny warm weather to enjoy the celebrations together. I have bought new glasses and this time I also ordered a pair of sunglasses with prescription glass so I don’t have to wear sunglasses on top of my regular glasses anymore. Yeah!

Time to celebrate – today it is Walpurgis night and we are going to celebrate it as we traditionally do – with a nice dinner here and then go and see the bonfire.

Today it was 22 years since me and my husband got engaged. Time flies!

Our king celebrates his 70th birthday this weekend and Stockholm is filled with celebrations and tourists. I am going to try and see some of it that is shown on TV.
So much fun to see all the guests and what they are wearing – I love the fact that our crown princess Victoria is wearing H&M at these occasions and her outfit from the celebrations yesterday was just spot on. Her speech to her dad was also very moving. She will make a great successor one day.

Today it was time for all Swedish students to take part of the ceremonial dressing in a student’s cap. A special day for all our graduates (proud mommy).

The day started with some grey skies and rain but in a couple of hours the sun was shining from a clear blue sky.

Crashed in my corner now after a half a pizza for dinner. Going to look at the movie “Spy” – I love Melissa McCarthy. I am a big fan! Might even skip Le’ts Dance..

Thursday – a day filled of fun – first lunch with my BFF – she had some great news to share! I am glad things are looking better.

After work I went to see a movie with a friend – The Danish Girl. What an amazing movie – I loved it. Lately I have chosen to see more and more movies that are about a real event – this one was about supposebly the first man who went through surgery to become a woman. The movie was very touching and real. I can recommend it!

When I arrived in town this morning they had started decorating some of the streets due to the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in a couple of weeks.

Since we won last year with “Heroes” / Måns Zelmerlöw we are hosting the grand finale this year. Stockholm is getting ready to greet all the contestants and tourists arriving for the event. Let the fun begin!
