Spring equinox

Yesterday it was spring equinox – vårdagjämning – and the days are for the first time since autumnal equinox longer than our nights. Spring is here and hopefully a lovely sunny one filled with flowers in bloom and warm weather so we can meet our loved ones outside again.

We are all anxiously awaiting for the vaccinations to reach our category and to get a bit closer to leaving this pandemic behind us. We will probably work from home until after the summer and this fall will be so strange – to start commuting again and spend hours every day in traveling back and forward to the office. Will be a challenge. But the reward is to be inspired and meet colleagues – to be among people again and be able to go to stores and shops.

Declaration of income

Saturday again. After we went grocery shopping I did my declaration of income. Don’t know why I stress so much about doing it – nowadays most of the information is already in place and all I have to do is check the numbers, make corrections (if any) and sign. Done.

Rewarded myself (and my family who also completed their declarations) with a waffle lunch served with whipped cream and jam. Yum.

I also went over to my parents for a quick chat and delivery of our frozen berries (she makes the best cordial ❤ ).

Now I have enjoyed the premier of Let’s Dance – looking forward to this season with my favorite Carola and Hammarbys proud and joy Michel Tournéus. They both did great tonight!

Hole in the ice

What a week. Don’t know where time flies. This week has involved all sorts of weather but today it’s been sunny and nice all day. But cold.

After I finished working I went for a quick walk to clear my head and passed the hole in the ice where courageous people take a bath in the winter time. Not for me. Not yet anyway. Maybe one day – maybe it should be on my bucket-list. A lot of people praise it and say it is a “must” to experience. We have plenty of practice of cold water swimming .. in the summertime. Lol.

Carbonara

A long day with all sort of stuff in. Took my oldest to the hospital this morning for his treatment and then went to pick him up again on my lunch break. Works out pretty good. As I went to get him it started snowing again and when we got back home it was snowing a lot for a while. Now it has stopped, I think.

Made spaghetti carbonara for dinner – yum! Haven’t had that in a while. Found some really nice pancetta (instead of bacon) which was perfect with the dish. Made a wok for my boys who still haven’t understood how to appreciate carbonara. Now we are all full and ready for some relaxation before it’s time to hug our pillows.

Quiet afternoon

A very busy first half of the day. Got a lot done. Went for a short walk to pick up some milk after work (can’t have my coffee without milk – lol).

One of my best friends is turning 50 today – happy birthday to you. We have so many birthdays to celebrate and catch up on when we are allowed to see our friends again. Can’t wait!

Snowdrops

Today I noticed that we have snowdrops in our garden again! Yeah! Only one, but still. Maybe some more will put up in a few days.

It’s been a nice sunny day today but I worked a long day so no afternoon walk. Maybe tomorrow if the nice weather is still here.

Minute steak for dinner. Now some corner time before it is time to hug my pillow. Going to watch “Benjamins” from last night, I think.

Mid March

Can’t believe we are already half way into March. Time goes by so quickly. Just a few more weeks and then it’s Easter. And hopefully spring will arrive.

I made a roast veal for dinner served with rise and green pepper sauce. Turned out pretty good.

Oh – and we have some leftovers of the mud cake I made this weekend. Perfect!

Day to rest

A tired day and we’ve been watching a lot of TV today. I made pancakes for lunch and in the afternoon me and my husband took walk around the lake to get out for a bit.

We’ve started to watch another Netflix-series which is pretty good. It’s called “La Trêve” – and it is about a criminal detective solving crimes in Belgium.

We picked up some thai food for dinner – yum! Now we are cheering on our Swedish handball team in the playoffs for the Olympics. So far one win and one tie. Tonight we are facing Slovenia. We need to win this game and if we do we are thru and get the promotion to the Olympics.

Mellofinalen

Finale-time! Shall be interesting to see – will the Mamas win for the third year in a row? Hmm.. I think I’ll put my money on Tusse. But I really like Clara’s song too.

Due to the corona pandemic we were not able to see my sister and friend with families in person and have our traditional dinner together, but we will hook up online and get together for a bit. My sister have prepared a fun quiz (you are so very good at creating these Kahoot-quizes) and we will also see who bet the most correct answers in the Mello finale and win this desirable challenge prize.

The hosts this finale are, together with Christer Björkman,  Shima Niavarani and Måns Zelmerlöv and the finale takes place at in Annexet Globen where all the Mello-events have been this year.

Result of the evening:

  • 1. Tusse – Voices – winner!
  • 2. Eric Saade – Every Minute
  • 3. The Mamas – In the middle
  • 4. Dotter – Little Tot
  • 5. Clara Klingenström – Behöver inte dig idag
  • 6. Klara Hammarström – Beat of broken hearts
  • 7. Danny Saucedo – Dandi dansa
    8. Charlotte Perelli – Still Young
  • 9. Arvingarna  – Tänker inte alls gå hem
  • 10. Alvaro Estrella – Baila baila
  • 11. Anton Ewald – New religion
    12. Paul Rey – The missing piece
  • N won the desirable trophy to cherish for a year! Congratulations!

Fish tacos

Friday again and a whole weekend ahead. Lovely. It’s been a hectic week with ups and downs and I need the break.

My parents stopped by on their afternoon walk but I was really busy with work so I didn’t have that much time, unfortunately. Nice to see them though! My mother has also received her dates for vaccination now so both my parents are scheduled before and after Easter. Good. Haven’t heard anything for my boys yet.

We made tacos tonight and I decided that me and my husband should try something new so I made fish tacos instead of regular ones. The store had a special seasoning for fish tacos that we tried and it turned out pretty good. Not a new favorit but quite tasty.
