Walpurgis day. No bonfire this year though – can’t wait for this pandemic to be over so we can get back to normal again.
After work we met up with my sis w/ family at our parents house to celebrate my oldest niece’s birthday. We could sit outside for a few hours and it was quite nice in the sunny weather. All dressed up in blankets and winter coats .. My niece had baked delicious carrot cakes and chocolate treats and I brought my chocolate buns I baked the other day. Delicious.
After a little while my youngest niece joined us – she came straight from school where her class had put on their student’s caps today. A very old Swedish tradition – to start wearing the cap on Walpurgis day. So proud – she graduates in June.
Coffee to go
Busy busy day today. Morning walk, breakfast – then gave my oldest a ride to his appointment. Could actually enjoy a coffee to go while I waited. My first in ages. And it was delicious! Back home and worked a full day. Filled with a lot of chores and meetings.
Made a wok-dinner and now we’ve taken our evening walk. It was lovely outside with a lot of people out walking. Still sunlight and it is almost 7.30 PM. Now we just need some warm weather too.
One down..
Another very cold morning with a couple of degrees below 0C. Put on my winter coat for our walk today.
After work my parents stopped by for a quick coffee and chat. Since we sat outside they didn’t stay for very long but at least it was nice and sunny.
My youngest took his first covid19-shot today. Yeah. Finally we are a step closer to some sort of normal. No news about shots for the rest of us yet though.
Isn’t this crown imperial (kejsarkrona) amazing! I’m so happy I have one in bloom this year. They are pretty good at keeping the deers away from the other flowers – so now the deers have eaten all my flowers on the other side of our house instead. Lol.
Sunset
Long busy day. Started and ended with a 3k walk. It is still very cold outside with below 0C when we wake up, but it is really a nice way to start the day – getting some fresh air. Tonight it was really pretty as the sun set behind the trees in the forest.
We have started to watch a new series – on HBO this time. It’s called “Mare of Easttown” and Kate Winslet plays the lead. So far so good.
Snowflakes ❄
New week and we started this one too with a morning-walk before breakfast. Healthy lunch with shrimp salad. A day filled with meeting – even one after my scheduled hours.
It’s been snowing off and on all day but nothing that stays on the ground. But so chilly outside! Where did spring go?
Went for a short evening-walk after dinner and now we’ve crashed infront of the TV before it’s time to hug our pillows.
Painting..
Sunday already. We started the day in the spa – the sun was shining and it was quite cold outside. Perfect conditions! After breakfast we started to work on our repainting-the-house project. We decided to start with our garage – I did the part to the right of the door and my hubby did the rest. Evenly divided between us, right?! Lol. It looks so much better now with a fresh coat of paint which inspires to keep going. First side completed.
While he was doing the rest of the first side I crashed in my corner watching the European Championships in gymnastics. It was the final day with a lot of great gymnastics to enjoy.
Now we have had a nice Sunday dinner and it is time to round up the day. I haven’t been on any walks this weekend – walked so much last week I needed to take a break. But, tomorrow morning we are going for our goal again.
Baking buns
A chilly Saturday with some snow but nothing that stayed on the ground. April weather for sure.
Started our day with grocery shopping after breakfast. Also picked up some paint for our house. P has cleaned the facade on the side of our house we will start with. Probably next weekend. While he was busy outside I was busy inside making these chocolate buns which turned out pretty good besides the fact that they turned out way too big. Lol. My youngest assured me that was not a problem to worry about.
Oh – my youngest will receive his first covid19-vaccination shot on Wednesday! Yeah! No news yet about my oldest though. He wasn’t on their list for some reason.
Haven’t made my step-goal today but I think I will give myself a day of rest. Have walked close to 6000 steps though so I haven’t been completely immobile. Going to play some online games with my sis w/ family in a bit. Nice ending of a long productive day.
Pyssel – AW
Äntligen dags för pyssel-aw med bästa tjejerna! Vi sågs flera gånger under den senaste månaden för att spela in pysselhälsningar till halva gänget – men det var ju hemligt så det kunde jag ju inte skriva om här. Nu är det bara minstingen i gänget kvar (söstra mi) – sen har vi alla nått fram till halvsekel-födelsedagen.
Så härligt att få prata, lyssna, skratta och umgås en liten stund – längtar tills vi kan ses “in person” – vilket förhoppningsvis kan bli snart när det blir lite varmare ute och vi kan ses på någons baksida igen!
Snowy day
The weather forecast promised 10mm snow today. That didn’t happen but it has been snowing / raining basically all day but it melts as soon as it touches the ground. We defied the weather and went for both a morning and an evening walk but only two rather short ones. Still need some steps to reach my goal.
My plan on getting a good night sleep last night by exhausting myself with long walks didn’t work. I haven’t reached my 100% all week and I hope tonight will be better than previous ones. Fingers crossed.
Walk with son
Started the day with a morning walk – worked my hours and then me and my oldest went for a long afternoon walk in the forrest. Got a lot of steps today – about 15.000 all together. Might take a break from walking tomorrow depending on the weather – the forecast promises 10mm of snow..
Made pork filet for dinner and now we’ve crashed infront of a couple of episodes of “The Serpent”. Hopefully I will get a good nights sleep tonight – haven’t been able to re-energize since we got back. Too many thoughts that bother me at night.
