Knitted mittens

imageLast winter I knitted a lot of Stenmark caps with different designs. This winter my focus has been on knitted mittens instead. The first one was a lesson learnt – but these two turned out pretty good and I am very proud of them! It was freezing this morning so I wore them to work and my colleagues said a lot of nice words too! Felt good!

I kept up my good effort from yesterday and walked to the subway this morning. Felt really good. Since I work late on Tuesdays and it is still really dark when I get home at this hour I took the walk before work instead of after.

Walk

Short day at work and a lovely sunny afternoon to enjoy. Since imagethe snow has melted away and it is light outside again I have decided to try to get back into my good habit of walking. So, I took the first step of that decision today – and it was lovely.

Fingers crossed I will keep it up! Still have a few pounds to loose..

Spring spring spring

imageA lovely Sunday with spring feeling – crocuses and snow drops in bloom in the garden and sunshine all day.

Rounded up the good day together with a dear friend listening to a gospel concert in church where another friend was singing in the choir. It was really nice to see her again and we had plenty to talk about before and after the concert.

Energy

A good Friday. Met an old friend for lunch – and with “old” I don’t mIMG_20140221_155439ean she is old – I mean we have been friends for ever. I have a couple of those – and they mean the world to me. It is a special feeling to have a friend who knows you from your previous life, so to speak.

My hero – Henrik Lundqvist – is a true fighter. Never seems to give up. Soon it is time for the world championships. I really hope he will be able to play.

Today I received a thank you for a greeting I sent.. from a European Champion.. That made me smile!

Thursday

imageIt was really nice this morning – the sun is already up now when we go to work so we get longer days with more sunlight hours. Spring is slowly getting here – flowers are in bloom here and there but we still have quite cold nights with 23F (-5C).

Made a really wholesome hotpot with pork and root veggies the other day – the boys were not thrilled lol – and today I added red lentils – the boys ate something else lol. It is so hard to come up with ideas what to eat. I need inspiration. I have a big challenge too with all these opinions and allergies to consider when choosing what to cook.

Me-time

This has been a very good day. No problems (for me) with buses or subways. A good day at work. Commutation worked on the wayimage home too. Saw my naprapath for a treatment – he worked miracles (as usual) with my back, neck, shoulders and sore hand.

My youngest is enjoying his practice and my oldest had a sports day with his school playing table tennis for a bit. Now while my spouse put on his taxi-dad cap I took a hot bath and relaxed my muscles some more. Perfect after a massage!

More days like this, pls.

Long day

Days like this I long for my paradise. Where my family come tIMG_20140714_205109ogether, get some peace and quiet, new energy. To sit in my swing chair, read a good book or just enjoy the view. Not too far off now – Easter only a few weeks away.

Can’t wait.

Pyssel hos S – 9 mar 2015

Mums! Tack för en perfekt kväll!

Ski-day

image

Usually the Vasaloppet is held the first Sunday of March, but since Sweden was the host for the Cross Country World Championships last week they postponed this years edition of Vasaloppet one week. I hope they will manage to finish the race – it is so warm today (11C here in Stockholm) and the tracks are so wet on some parts. 15800 participants will ski 90 km.

My husband and youngest son went up really early today to travel 2,5 hrs by bus to Romme for a day in the slopes together. I hope they will have a great day and that they too will get some sunshine. I went out through our back door today for the first time since before the winter started. Found some snow drops in bloom and also a lot of other flowers on their way up but not in bloom yet. Spring is getting closer! Soon I can enjoy my coffee outside!
