Vaccine – ✔

Another busy day but I got home in time and decided to go to a drop-in center and get a shot of the influenza vaccine (not covid). Hopefully I will have some extra resistance this winter.

Spent the afternoon sorting my clothes and trying to fit everything into my new wardrobe. Funny – it is bigger than my last one but I’m still struggling to fit everything. Lol. But, an excellent opportunity to sort stuff out that I don’t use anymore.

Tonight me and my parents went to cheer on our handball team play. I haven’t been to a game since before the pandemic and it was great fun to get the Bajen- atmosphere bubble again. Sadly we lost the game after being in the lead for the most part. Bummer.

Lunch date

What a day. I’m completely beat. Grey weather, cold and raining. Brrr.

One thing really brightened up my day though – I had a lunch date with a dear friend whom I haven’t seen for almost two years. It was lovely to see her and we had a great chat. Booked a new lunch next month to have something to look forward to. Great fun!

Besides the great lunch almost everything went wrong today. New day tomorrow. Hopefully with some downwind and better luck. Made a shrimp salad for myself for dinner. Minute steak for the boys. Now some corner time before bed.

First snow ❄

This morning it started to snow and it was below 0C. Brrr. Winter arrived. But, it didn’t last long and it didn’t stay on the ground. Hopefully it will be a while before we receive a lot of snow.

I had a lot to do at work today but got off early afternoon. Nice to start the week with a short day. Gave me enough time to make a lasagna for dinner and burgers for my oldest. Lasagna is great for left-overs too, which is appreciated by my youngest. Now some corner time and an episode of “Squid Game” on Netflix.

Productive

We’ve been busy bees all day – great to have one day off before going back to work again. Groceries, laundry, switching to winter tires. While hubby continued building on our wardrobe I went to buy a new window blind. Found one the right size at Hornbach – great! Now we don’t need to order one on line like I thought we might have to.

Now I’ve crashed in my corner for a bit with a glas of white. Tomorrow it’s time to get back to work again. A busy couple of weeks ahead. Wish I was more energized and up for it than I am. If a week in paradise doesn’t help – I don’t know what will.

Back to the real world

Last night our paradise gave us a real treat to remember in our hearts and mind to bring back home and help us thru the winter. A magical sunset. Peace and quiet. A great dinner we prepared together – steak with boiled potatoes, moms delicious cream sauce and veggies. Served with a nice glas of red.

Today we have cleaned the houses, packed our things and spent the day driving back home. The trip went with no problems and now we have hugged our boys, unpacked, started a laundry and in a minute we will go and pick up some dinner. A great week that I would have liked to last one more week but I am very grateful for our chance to spend time in our paradise. Now we will have to wait until Easter, I think. But, I have an amazing sunset to remember when I need to go back to last night again. To find that calm and mindfulness.

Fish soup

Last full day in paradise and everyone was off from work. Nice. We took a walk after breakfast and then packed ourselves in the cars and drove to Kårehamn for a lovely lunch. I chose their famous fish soup – yum!

It has been quite windy and rainy since last night. No rain today and this afternoon the wind calmed down a bit so we dared to light a fire and burned some branches outside. Now we are watching an amazing sunset and enjoying a quiet afternoon inside.

Windmill

A lovely day with hardly no wind. We took a nice walk before lunch – as we have every day this vacation. 3k this time. We passed our local windmill and I took this photo.

Now a quiet afternoon before it is time to get ready to go into town. We have made reservations at a restaurant by the square called “Gamla Televerket” that has received good reviews. Something to look forward to! Hopefully we will find our way back here again afterwards – it is so very dark here and no streetlights. A different kind of life than in the city.

Coastline

Midweek already. Time passes by way too quickly. We took an extra long walk after breakfast – north this time – along the coast. It was a bit windy but really nice outside and we were gone for about 90 min.

After lunch we went to get some more groceries and now my cousin w/ family have been here for a coffee and a cake they had baked. It was really nice to see them for a bit. My aunt was here too but not my uncle.

Pumpkin

A rainy day in paradise. We took a walk before lunch since the weather-forecast promised rain this afternoon. And it has been raining all afternoon so we’ve been watching some tv, doing crossword-puzzles and chatting.

Our home-grown pumpkin turned out beautiful. All yellow and big as a soccer-ball. But, only one. I think we planted the seeds a bit too late – need to get them in the ground around Easter I think. We need to remember that next year.

Tonight my second-cousin is coming over for a bit (if the weather isn’t too bad for the walk). Nice to see her and chat some.

Vacation

First day of vacation. My hubby and brother-in-law had to work though but me and my parents and my sisters mother-in-law took a nice long walk before lunch.

After lunch the ladies joined me into town for some strolling around and possible shopping. I was hoping to find a hairdresser that could fit me in but no such luck. We enjoyed a couple of hours looking in the few stores that was open and then we treated ourselves a cup of coffee and a Danish before we headed back home again. Stopped for groceries on the way.

Now I’m going to start dinner in a bit – chicken tonight.
