KS

Thursday already and another quite busy day with a longer lunch break in the afternoon to take my oldest to his treatment. Everything went ok and we made it there on time. Driving back was another story though .. a big traffic accident delayed our trip quite a bit. But, we got home eventually and I could work my last couple of hours.

Made pasta bolognese for dinner – yum! Now some corner time!

Busy busy

Midweek and a very busy day today. Had an afternoon meeting so I ended up working a full day with some overtime on top. Puh.

Another of our close friends graduated today but he wasn’t as lucky with the weather as my niece was yesterday. The sky opened for a while and parts of the city was flooded again. They had to re-direct the traffic from some parts even. But, now the sun is shining again.

Now I’m going to crash in my corner for a while and probably go to bed early. I’m really really tired after today.

Graduation

Finally the day has come – our youngest family member is graduating from “gymnasiet” – ready to face the world! And with a title too – assistant nurse. Starting her first job tomorrow morning at one of the largest hospitals in Sweden. *so proud*

The weather-Gods were on her side and the sun was shining all day long (with some clouds here and there but no rain). We gathered the closest family outside for celebrations – bubbly, coffee and cake (grandma had baked a delicious “cap-“cake) to be followed by opening gifts, lots of great chats (such a luxury to see people in person) and ended with a bbq dinner.

A wonderful day and I think S had a great graduation and was happy with her day. We are so glad we could be a part of it.

S – we love you to the moon and back – go out and enjoy life and your new job tomorrow. You’ll be a great nurse and I have no doubt you will soon become an invaluable asset to your new workplace.

Monday

Yesterday was just perfect – a long relaxing day partly spent in my hammock doing nothing but listening to the birds singing.

Today we started our morning with a quick 3k walk before breakfast. It’s been really warm today – almost feels like thunder in the air again – and in the afternoon it did rain for a short while.

Tonight I made a fish casserole for me and my hubby and tacos for the boys. Now some relaxing time before it’s time to hug our pillows.

National Day

A sunny Sunday and the national day of Sweden – June 6th.  A fairly new tradition which only been a national holiday since 2005. Bummer it is on a weekend this year – no extra time off from work for me.

We have no musts or have-to’s today – going to do whatever we like. A few things on the maybe-list (continue painting, e. g. and make more room in our garage for the IKEA-delivery next week). But, we’ll see.

I put the flag up before breakfast – a nice tradition when celebrating something or someone. And if you have a flagpole you should try your best to follow the traditions and at least honor the national flag days.

Wishing you all a great National Day!

Slack line

A lovely Saturday – with sunny weather and filled with fun things. Started off like we usually do with grocery shopping after breakfast. Then we’ve been working in the garden some. We put up the slack line for a while and my hubby and youngest were still able to walk on it. Yeah! Great workout.

My parents-in-law came over in the afternoon and we could sit outside for a nice flank steak dinner. Strawberries for afters. Mmm.

Then in the evening we have played online games with my sis and youngest niece. Nice ending of a nice day!

Pyssel – AW

Peony

My peony bush has started to bloom. About 20 buds ready to burst and this one was first out. Love it. The scent is amazing and they are so very pretty. The rhododendron also started to bloom today.

Another long busy day at work and I could get closure on some things which is great. Maybe I can stop my mind from processing it now. Kept waking up last night with a lot of work-stuff in my head. Not good.

Evening walk

Another full day of work and tonight we went for a nice evening walk by the lake after dinner. So nice. It’s been a very sunny day again and quite warm, around 20C. Lovely.

Made burgers for dinner and now we might treat ourselves an ice cream – the ice cream truck stopped right outside our house this afternoon so who were we to resist? We now have a selection of “glassbåtar” and “mormors-strutar” in the freezer. Mmm.

Sommarsnöklocka

My “sommar-snöklockor” – summer snowflakes – have started to bloom and they are so pretty. I’m in love. The little green dot on each petal is pure perfection.

It’s been a sunny day again – such a big difference from all the raining these last couple of weeks. The garden is really booming with all the flowers now. My peonies and rhododendrons are up next – probably in another couple of days.

Tre Kronor lost their game last night. They played a really good game and lost on overtime and penalty shots. Bummer. Oh well. First time since like every they didn’t make it to the quarter finals.
