Passports.. ready..

Two days ago we applied for new passports. And today we got a text they were ready to be picked up. Wow.

So after work we went over to the police station to get them. Back and forward in less than an hour. Yeah.

I’ve started to watch a new Netflix-series – “Velvet” – a Spanish series about a fashion house in the 1950s. It is quite good. And lots of episodes so it will take me while. Lol. Have a nice weekend , everyone!

Blue hyacinth

Today I made a pasta lunch for me and my husband. The boys usually fix their own lunches. Long day today and it’s been dark all day. No sunlight. After work I put a filet of pork in the oven with some potatoes and carrots. Hard to come up with ideas for food, I think, but today both dishes turned out pretty good.

We’ve enjoyed the spa for a bit tonight. Perfect weather for it. Cold and no wind. Now we are tucked in our corners with a cup of tea and a saffron bun. My husband received a tea-calendar for his birthday. So now we try a new kind of tea every day – some really nice ones!

My hyacinths have started to bloom. The blue one is first out. The pink and white one will follow in a few days I think. Smells gorgeous.

Passport

The other day I noticed that my youngest sons’ and  my passport are about to expire. So, I booked an appointment at the police station to apply for new ones. Even though traveling isn’t something we will be likely to do in a while yet, it is always good to be prepared.

So after work today we went over there to get it done. Perfect time of the year – no people hardly at all there and we will receive the new passports within a week.

Also stopped by my youngest God-daughter on the way back to deliver a small surprise to remember the day of her christening (which was yesterday – I know – I’m a bit late). I hope she’ll like it.

Outdoor lights

It is getting so dark now. The sun sets almost right after it rises. And it feels even darker since we don’t have any snow yet.

Our lamp in the back is nice to look at though. And I just love my mushroom lamp you can see way in the back. I used to have two of those but one was stolen from our garden a couple of years back. I mean – who does that? And these lamps are no longer available in stores either so I can’t buy another one.

Long day at work and I didn’t sleep very well last night so now I’m dead tired. Going to start dinner in a bit.

Walk

New week and still no snow in sight. After work me and my oldest decided to take a walk in the forrest. Haven’t done that in ages due to various reasons. But, today we did and it was really nice. Took us about an hour and we choose the illuminated track since it was a bit too muddy and wet in the forrest track.

Now we’re back home again. The Xmas tree is lit and it is soon time to start thinking about what to make for dinner. Maybe we’ll get a take-out – my husband has a package to pick up after work so maybe he’ll pick up some food too.

Advent 🕯🕯

Sunday and time to light another candle. A nice relaxing day. I went up to Fruängen to get stamps for my Xmas-cards and packages and also to pick up a dress I had ordered online. It was a bit big but I think a size smaller will be too small so I will go ahead and keep it.

My husband and youngest walked over to the local Xmas-tree market and purchased our tree. We decided to put it up now and enjoy it a bit early. And now the whole house smells amazing – I love the scent from the fir tree. I will not put up all the other decorations just yet. Maybe next weekend.

We watched the latest “Beck” movie this afternoon and it was quite good. Well worth seeing.

Happy Advent 2nd!

Lussekatter

Slept in a bit today and after breakfast we went over to get some groceries. Saturday tradition. Bought saffron and made “lussekatter” this afternoon. Great to get it done and fill the freezer with some homebaked buns.

The new stove is working fine – need to figure out a few things and re-learn how to think regarding what temperature to use etc. But so far so good. And just having a sparkling clean cooker is a joy!

Weekend

This week went by really quickly – again. Grey and rainy – not wintery at all. Today it is pouring down. Blä.

We purchased a new stove on the black Friday sale and got a really good deal! Today it was delivered so now we have something to do this weekend. I hope it will be a good choice – the last one didn’t live up to our expectations and we’ve counted the years until it was reasonable to replace it. My husband is baking a lot of bread, and this new stove has a steam-bake feature which we are interested in.

Tonight it is the finale in Swedish Idol and I don’t know which of the two I’m cheering on. Both girls deserve to win.

Hyacinth

Slowly but surely Xmas is coming and a few new things here and there arrives in our house to welcome the holidays. Bought these three hyacinths in different colors and placed them in a flower pot with some decorations I had since before.

Busy long day at work today with quite a lot of turns back and forward.

Tonight we are expecting a few deliveries. Xmas around the corner and all that.. Perfect way to do the shopping on line staying away from the crowds. The first delivery man tried to hand over a box of wine though.. turned out it was supposed to be delivered to our neighbors. Bummer..

Afternoon walk

Didn’t sleep so good last night for some reason. A lot of work-thoughts occupied my mind. I was able to take care of all those issues during my workday so hopefully I will not have any problem sleeping tonight.

Decided to get some daylight after work today so I took a walk around the block for half-an-hour. It was quite grey and not great weather but lovely to get some steps in.

Tonight we made tacos for dinner – a lot of preparations for a quick meal. But very delicious every once in a while.
