Lunch treat

There was a piece of “smörgåstårta” left from last night so I brought it with me to work and treated two of my colleagues lunch. I think they liked it – at least they said so and their plates were finished. Yeah! I am such a sucker for this dish – I could eat it every day of the week. But, my body wouldn’t appreciate it as much. Lol.

Since I have had quite a bit of over-time this week and it got very quiet this afternoon I got off early and did some errands instead. Perfect. We will have the whole gang over tomorrow for midsummer dinner so we have a few things on our to-do list still to prepare. A trip to the grocery store before dinner and now a well deserved drink to celebrate the long weekend. Cheers!

Smörgåsbord

Time for our yearly “smörgåsbord”-lunch at work. It takes a bit of an effort to pull together but it’s worth it because it is very appreciated. We don’t have a kitchen at work so I have to manage with a boiling plate and a microwave oven. But most of the dishes are served cold so it works fine.

Tomorrow night it is my turn to have the girls here for our “pyssel” – only we are not doing any crafts just having a nice evening with something special to eat. I have made some preparations tonight in case I will not be able to get off work in time tomorrow. Better safe than sorry!

Week of midsummer

A sunny Monday with clear blue sky. Lovely.

We had a busy day today so I stayed and helped all afternoon instead of leaving early. Tomorrow will be even more busy so it was good that we could get some of the things done today.

Met my parents on the last bus going back from work – they had been into town on were on their way home. A nice surprise and treat to see them for a couple of minutes.

Tonight it’s time for our next soccer game in the European Under 21 Championships  facing Poland this time. Fingers crossed!

Bauhausgalan

What a great Sunday. Couldn’t sleep this morning so I ended up getting up early and not long after my husband also got up. So we watched a couple of episodes of the new series we have started to watch on Netflix – “Outlanders”. Another historic series – our favorites for the moment.

After lunch I met up with my parents and we went into the Olympic Stadium in Stockholm to watch the Diamond League Games “Bauhausgalan”. It was about 30C in the stadium and we sat right in the sun. More than 10000 people were there and the competitions were great – no Stadium records (which would reward the record breaker a 50000SEK diamond (I think) ) but great results and a few qualifications to the world championships. Also a few injuries unfortunately. I hope they are not too bad.

Preparations..

It looks like our dream will come true.. The last preparations made and we are ready for the delivery..

We went over to my parents for a lovely afternoon coffee. Mom had made a Swiss roll and served it with strawberries and whipped cream. Mmm. When we got home we spent a couple of hours cleaning the house and all the windows downstairs. Puh. Rewarded ourselves with a nice beef on the grill. Now some corner time to relax before it’s bedtime.

Re-pear

Busy morning with an electrician coming over to our house already at 07.00 – we need to step up the power a bit in the house. Then off to a repair-shop in Hornstull called re:pear (clever) and they do fix both apple-products and other products. The technician was not busy so he could fix the cellphone while I waited. Managed to get in time to my 9-o’clock meeting at work with a 2-minute margin. Lol. Busy busy all day and now I’ve crashed in my corner. Will go and pick up some dinner in a bit – but I need to sit here 5 more minutes..

Fourth time this week

Another lovely morning and another walk to the subway station. Perfect. I have done good this week – step-wise – reaching my goal every day except Monday.

During the afternoon the sky turned black and it started raining cats & dogs. Where my sister works they even received hail. And then it stopped as quickly as it started.

Didn’t have any inspiration at all regarding what to eat so we ended up picking up a take-away – skewers with chicken served with French fries and breaded shrimps with bulgur. Mmm.

Bright sunny day

What a lovely day! Couldn’t resist walking to the station again even though I’m still a bit tired after yesterday. It’s been really warm today with degrees around 25C. Puh. Not used to it.

Managed to get some shopping done on my way home. Birthday presents and a few other things. Picked up some strawberries too – the boys love them! Perfect with goodies that are packed with vitamins and energy!

Walk walk walk

Walked both to and from the subway today. It was nice weather on both occasions – but during the day it has been raining almost the whole day. Lucky me. Going home I really pushed myself too and managed to speed up the walk by 2 minutes. Doesn’t sound like a lot, I know, but trust me, my legs felt it. And I’ve reached close to 15000 steps today too. Yeah!

As I walked home, I met a familiar face – he smiled at me and said “hey – I know you!” It was the priest that once was in charge of my confirmation and also performed the wedding ceremony between me and my husband. It was good to see him again and it brought back some fond memories from way back. We didn’t stop for a chat or anything – just exchanged a few words as we passed each other on our walks.

Wellies

This morning the sky opened as I went to work and I actually decided to wear my wellies and raincoat. It was a good idea going to work – but when I went home it was sunny and the outfit felt a bit too much.

When I got home I accompanied my oldest son to the police station. He had ordered a new id-card and had to pick it up. So, I came along so he could practice his driving back and forward to the station. We really need to focus on giving him opportunities to practice driving – we have been way to lazy or unfocused in that department. Time to step up so he can get that license.
