Rainy start

Midsummer week and a rainy start. Looked ok when I left for work but it’s been raining off and on all day. Short day today and due to the rain I didn’t take a walk after work. Just went home and had a late lunch.

Hubby is away at a work-thing tonight so it’s just me and the boys. I’ve tried to figure out what to pack but I can’t focus and the weather-prognosis doesn’t look great either. So, no summer clothes I guess. I just hope and pray everything will go smoothly on our trip.

Our elder tree has started to bloom and by the time we get back it will be time to start making some cordial. Mmm.

A bit tired..

Managed to sleep in a bit today. Finally. Needed those extra hours of sleep. I hope it won’t mean that I can’t sleep tonight. Lol.

Finished the leftovers in the fridge for lunch and then I dropped my oldest off at his friends house before I drove to the mall to see if I could find a new handbag. But, no such luck. Didn’t find anything at all worth buying. Oh well.

Enjoyed a nice coffee outside when I got back. Lovely sunny day today. Let’s hope the nice weather will be here for a while (but I think the prognosis might show something else.. ).

Bachelor of Science

We stayed over at the conference center so I arrived with taxi back home after breakfast.

When I got home we went to get groceries and lunch (as we always do on Saturdays) and then I relaxed in my corner for a couple of hours – still tired after a night away.

We were invited to celebrate my oldest niece who has completed her Degree of Bachelor of Science in Psychology and also landed a full time job within human resources as a recruiter. Yeah. Well done!
We had a great evening and were able to sit outside and enjoy dinner followed by coffee and cake. Congratulations, K! The gift is on its way… arrival depending on the shipping company. Lol.

Away

A day away from our office to spend a day at a conference center for a day of education. The weather was lovely initially and we could have our class outside. What a lovely view!

In the afternoon a heavy rainfall kept us indoors for a bit but then the sun came back again. All the outdoor furniture were soaked though. After the education was finished we had some free time and then we gathered for a lovely dinner together to end a good productive day.

Violets

Thursday and long day at work. Had sushi for lunch – it’s been a while since last time.

Picked up some filet of pork on the way home and served it with rise and veggies. Hard to figure out what to cook some days. But so nice to gather the family every night and have dinner together. One of these days the boys will move somewhere else and then these everyday-dinners are no more.

My violets have really started to grow and they are in full bloom now sitting outside our front porch welcoming our guests.

Puh..

What a warm sunny day – almost felt like it was going to thunder. But, so far no rain or thunder.

Short day today and I took a nice stroll after work thru the city. Had a late lunch when I got back home and then I’ve been busy doing laundry and ironing.

We bought two plants of these yellow flowers – not sure what they are called – and I really like them. They brightens up the flower-bed!

Hail

Woaaahh what happened? June and a hail-fall?? My poor tomato plants… Fingers crossed they will survive this ordeal.

I worked a long day today and had a day packed with meetings and stuff to do. Very productive.

Now the sun is shining again and the rain and hail fall has stopped. Feels like it never even happened. Weird.

Here we go

Time passes by so quickly – already a new week. This one quite busy (as they usually are) and ending with an over-night event with my work. So, four days at the office – then Friday somewhere else.

Short Monday and I was able to get off almost on time. Had to put in half-an-hour of support tonight, and I think I was able to assist.

We watched the last episode (or so we thought) of “Stranger Things” only to find out the series would continue with a part II of season 4 on July 1st. Oh well.

Love my Sicilian Honey Garlic (“honungslök”) bulbs that are in bloom now. So pretty!

Roses

So nice with one more day off. It is very lovely outside but dark clouds are gathering in the sky so maybe we’ll get some rain today.

Our roses have started to bloom – these white and pink ones are first out. Then I believe the purple ones will come next. Love our garden at this time of they year with all the flowers in full bloom. Our peonies are amazing but the heavy rainfall Friday night shattered some of the blossoms and left an ocean of petals under the bush.

I wish the chaos at our airport will calm down so we will be able to get a good start on our trip in a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed.

Weekend

Finally we managed to help my parents with the weather-station that we got for dad on his birthday in March. I hope it will work and give them all the statistics they love to follow. The display looked very promising with all kinds of information.

We’ve been working in our garden for a bit this afternoon. My tomato plants have out-grown the kitchen window so I planted them outside now. I just planted three seeds from bought yellow cherry tomatoes and all three grew. I hope they will continue to grow and maybe give us some tomatoes eventually. Fingers crossed!
