Evening walk

We have managed to keep up our goal so far – evening walks both today and yesterday and this morning we set the alarm 30 min earlier to better have time for the morning walk. Only 56 more to go.. lol

Worked a full day today and got a lot done. We had blood pudding with bacon for lunch and then I made hotpot for dinner which turned out great. Even the boys managed to eat some – they are not fans of beef stew. Too many veggies and gravy for them. But I really like it so I make it every now and then.

Thermos

We started this morning with a quick 3k walk. My hubby has a step-challenge from his work and I will try to join him. Fingers crossed we will be able to keep it up for the next 4 weeks.

After work my parents stopped by to deliver my birthday present. Yesterday my parents-in-law gave me a new fancy thermos and I guess my parents thought the same because they gave me a Moomin-thermos to go with my coffee cups. Lol. Two really nice thermoses and I guess they are right – I need to replace some of my old ones!!! And I really do like both these new ones! Thank you!

I tried to get some answers today regarding our vaccination but no luck. The doctors want us to contact the local care centre, and the local care centre has no information to give regarding risk persons and wanted us to contact the doctors. Catch 22…

Tonight we are going for another walk since the challenge demands more steps than we could do before work. But first I’m going to make dinner. Busy busy.

Forsythia

One more day off before work starts again. It’s been quite a sunny nice day and we have worked some outside. Started the day with grocery shopping after breakfast.

In the afternoon my parents-in-law came over with a birthday present for me (thank you!) and we had cake and coffee outside and a nice chat.

When I was born I received a forsythia bush and every year it blooms in time for my birthday. Every year we bring in one branch from the bush and I picked one up before we went to our paradise. Now it is in full bloom and I really cherish this lifelong tradition. We have planted a forsythia in paradise too and it blooms so pretty down there. Makes me smile.

Family

Time to return to the real world again after 10 days in our paradise. We packed the cars and drove back to civilization after breakfast. My brother-in-law co-drived with my parents, which was great since it is long drive.

We arrived back home without any problems – hardly any traffic at all.

Yesterday someone asked on FB what kind of trampoline to buy and someone else recommended an oval one. I replied we have one for sale and tonight we sold it! Perfect! We didn’t ask for much and it is in excellent condition so the buyer was happy. An era has come to an end.. feels strange to be without it after having one for 18 years! This oval one was 7 years though.

Windy day

Everything has to come to an end and this was our last day in paradise this time. Tomorrow morning after breakfast we will drive back to the real world again.

No walk today – it has been quite a chilly windy day so we just didn’t feel up for it. But, I did go down to the ocean and took some photos and a short video for my instagram accounts.

A nice relaxing day. We have had a great week – eaten good food, enjoyed nice wine, walked long walks and just shared quality time together as a family. Perfect!

Birthday

Thursday and my birthday. And what a lovely day! Sunny (and windy) and filled with joy. My sister and nieces had sent me a postcard which meant a lot to me even though I miss them dearly. And I received a lot of greetings and phone-calls from dear friends and family. I feel blessed!

Me and my parents went for two walks today – one right after lunch and one before dinner. My aunt and uncle treated us these delicious cakes and joined us for an afternoon coffee. They are both fully vaccinated and well so it felt safe to see them for a little while. No hugging though!

We made a really nice sirloin steak dinner with potato gratin and asparagus served with a fancy bottle of Californian wine. A spectacular sunset to end a perfect day.

Thank you everyone for making my birthday so special!

Blue gate

Another lovely sunny day in our paradise. We worked some outside today and put the pumpkin seeds in the ground. Also added some cow-dung on top for some extra nutrition.

After lunch my parents walked over to my dads cousin for a cup of coffee while me and my youngest took an hour long walk up to the blue gate and back. So nice and I am so happy he wanted to come along.

Tonight I made a fish casserole for dinner and afterwards we have just relaxed and watched some tv. Another sunset to enjoy – but a bit cloudy so not a perfect one. But quite spectacular nonetheless.

Afternoon walk

After breakfast me and my parents drove into town for some errands. Bought canned mushrooms at the factory and groceries at ICA among other things.

After lunch me and my parents went for a long walk – 75 min – which was very nice. A bit windy but not as cold as the previous days.

Chicken with rise for dinner and then we enjoyed one of my red wines along with some cheese and crackers while watching our ladies national team playing soccer in a friendship game towards Poland. We won 3-2. Another amazing day in our paradise has come to an end.

Day off

Monday already. And my first day of vacation. The two days I was off from work last week I could use some of my overtime hours. This week I have taken vacation days.

My hubby and brother-in-law will work full time all week. So, the rest of us stay out of their way. After lunch me and my parents went for a long walk together and there are all kinds of spring flowers in bloom. These liver leaves are so pretty!

I made a lasagna for dinner and now we have watched TV and just relaxed for a couple of hours. The world treated us another nice sunset – good for the soul!

Evening walk

This morning my sister and the girls drove back to the real world again. Time for them to go back to work and school. They will be missed. The rest of us will stay here until next weekend.

A very chilly and rainy day so we spent most of it indoors. I made salmon for dinner (steaks for the boys) and we opened a nice bottle of Petit Chablis to go with. Lovely. After dinner we went for a 3.5k walk – south this time – and defied the weather. It was quite windy and cold but no rain.

Tonight we have watched “Wonder Woman 1984”. It was ok but not great. But nice to watch something together.
