Fall cleaning

A busy Sunday. We got up early and finished trimming the apple trees, then we went to rent a trailer and filled it with all the apple branches and all the trimmings from the hedge. So nice to get rid of that mountain laying on our lawn! Also, we emptied most of the garbage from our garage – things we failed to sell after renovating our bathroom, old TV and electronics among other things.

Now we will crash in our corners for a bit before we will pick up something for dinner – probably pizza. Or something like that. Our oldest has an online meeting this afternoon with his team so I guess we will have to wait until they are done.

Rosehips

A long day with lovely weather. Perfect. I have cut down our rose-hip-bush so now I’m covered with scratches. Lol. Same procedure every year. My husband has cut our apple trees.

Since it was such nice day we bbq some hotdogs for lunch and sat outside. After lunch we went over to a furniture store near by and ordered two new couches for our living room. Yeah. Finally we found something we liked. It will take a while before we receive them though – 8-10 weeks. But it will be nice once they arrive. They will collect our old couches too which is a nice service. Unless someone else is interested in them of course. Just let us know.

Dinner treat

Finally Friday and a whole weekend to look forward to. We started with a nice filet dinner with potato gratin and green peas. Mushroom sauce for me. Hot bearnaise for hubby.

Tried to make my sons try the mushroom sauce but my youngest said “soap smells good too but doesn’t taste good either”. Lol.

Now we’re going to watch the last episode of “Reckoning”. I hope they catch the right killer..

White orchid

Thursday already and a sunny nice day outside. Unfortunately I had a long day at work and hardly left my chair all day.

My white orchids are in full bloom right now and they are lovely. Must be doing something right.

Made chicken for dinner with a new kind of fries which turned out ok. Good enough for a Thursday eve. Now we’re going to enjoy another couple of episodes of the Netflix series “Reckoning” that we are watching right now.

Midweek chaos

So many upcoming appointments it is absolutely ridiculous. And blood tests a day or two in advance. We put up all the notice letters on our fridge and there is no room left. Lol.

Had a pretty busy morning and after lunch I went to my physio. Feels great to get it done. Met my parents on my way back and we had a nice chat.

I don’t look forward to the fall at all unless we will be able to see family and friends indoors. Now the weather is so lousy we can’t see each other outside anymore. And I would love to see my “pyssel”-friends – just have a girls night and eat good food and chat. Miss life as it was before the pandemic turned the world around.

Pizza

Today my husband and parents-in-law signed the papers and sold our second paradise.

We asked our youngest what he would like for dinner to close the deal and celebrate and he chose PizzaHut. Haven’t had pizza from that restaurant in ages so that was a good idea. And on Tuesdays they are on 50% discount if you select take-away. Win-win. Our oldest got a chicken burger so everyone was happy. This photo was taken a while back though..

Worked a long day today and it has been grey and rainy outside so quite dark in our living room. Need to start turning on more lights while working. It is very tiring when there’s no sunlight.

Our car has started to make a funny noice so we need to book an appointment so someone more knowledgable than us can take a look at it and figure out what’s wrong. Rather sooner than later.

Dinner 4 four

Finally we could bring our little one back home again after a week in hospital. It was great to see him again and to give him a big hug and welcome home. He was in good spirit and has enjoyed my food with great appetite today so I am hopeful he will be alright soon.

It was such a great feeling to finally be all four of us for dinner again. Chatting and talking and enjoying each others company.

A grey and rainy Monday wasn’t so bad after all.  It was no fun walking back and forward to my physio this morning in the rain though.

Hedge trimming

The weather-Gods were with us after all so we trimmed the whole hedge today. Or, my husband trimmed and I raked. Puh. Dead tired now. But, we were able to get it all done. Now we need to rent a trailer to get it moved to the waste disposal site.

My parents-in-law stopped by for a cup of tea in the afternoon and to drop off a few things. Nice to see them. I had baked a sticky brownie-cake served with chocolate ice cream which was nice for the “fika”.

Tonight the clouds are looking darker and darker and moving quite quickly. Maybe bad weather is on the way after all.

Fingers crossed our youngest will come home tomorrow. Yeah! Can’t wait! Miss him.

Rainy Saturday

We had planned to be busy in our garden today, but the weather wasn’t cooperating – it’s been raining off and on all day. So we postponed the work until next weekend since it will probably be raining tomorrow too.

We went grocery shopping and tonight we enjoyed our spa for a bit – since it’s not raining right now. We don’t use our spa as often as we did the first year when we went in 3-4 times per week, but it’s great to have it and we love to get in a couple of times per month still. Especially now when it is getting colder outside again – then it’s wonderful. So glad we have it! Just wish the pandemic would pass so we could enjoy it with our friends again. Miss that terribly.

Sanseveria

Yesterday I smelled a lovely scent by our bedroom window which I couldn’t locate at first. After a while I noticed that my “mother-in-law-tongue” (svärmorstunga) was in bloom and the flower smelled gorgeous. This particular plant has been with me since I was a young girl – I’ve had it for more than 30 years.

Friday and me and my oldest went for our long walk in the forrest. We were both really tired today so we were gone longer than we usually are.

Our youngest has to stay the weekend in hospital – we were hoping he might come home tomorrow but no such luck. Sending him lots of happy thoughts and big hugs. Miss him.
