Walk with son

Friday already. Can’t believe a whole workweek is already completed. It’s been an emotional week with a lot of things to deal with and I look forward to the weekend. After work today me and my oldest went for a long nice walk together. We were gone for almost 1,5 hrs and we had a lovely chat. Hopefully we can do this every week – good for the both of us.

I decided to not attend at the dinner tonight with my company. I miss them all so much and I would have loved to see them, but it just doesn’t feel safe enough and not worth the risk. So I stayed at home with my family instead. We have bbq some nice beef and had a lovely Friday dinner together. A nice ending of a busy week.

Pumpkin

Our pumpkin plants are getting bigger and bigger and now there are a lot of flowers in bloom too. No sign of any pumpkins though. Fingers crossed there will be some soon.

Worked a full day today and it went well. Had some to do – not too much. Tomorrow I have a short day again.

My husband is away this evening on an outdoor work event. I have one tomorrow but the weather-forecast promises rain and then they will move the event indoors. And with this weeks set-back it will probably not be a good idea for me to attend. Talked it over with two colleagues and they said they’ll understand and that I should not feel obligated to show up. I will let them know my final decision tomorrow.

Change of scenery

Today my oldest had a half-a-day appointment at the hospital so I brought my work with me and worked from there instead while I was waiting for him. I found an empty quiet spot and it worked fine.

Went to my physio this afternoon and now I am completely exhausted. It was sooo very hot outside and the walk back and forward was a real challenge.

Happy 20th wedding anniversary, sis & brother-in-law! Did our surprise arrive yet? 😘

Longing for paradise

Only second day back to work and I already long back to our paradise.

Had a hectic day at work with a long lunch break to accompany our youngest to his appointment.  Fortunately my husband came along since I’m not very keen on driving in the city. And thank God he did because there had been a big power outage so our usual 30min drive took  75min and we just made it in time. Worked another couple of hours when we got back home and also some extra time to make up for the break.

Now I’ve crashed in my corner for a bit. Need to gather some new energy for tomorrow when I’m taking our oldest to his appointment.

Back again

Back to work again – and it felt pretty good to “see” everyone again! We had an online team meeting this morning. My working day was filled with things to do and the hours went by quickly.

After lunch I had an appointment with my physio therapist and he praised my good effort this summer. My daily routine with heel-raising and knee-bending did the trick. My plan is to go there twice per week again – at least for the next couple of months – hopefully it will make a big difference.

Pink roses

We slept in a bit today. No morning swim – I miss it already.

A busy day getting organized – grocery shopping, cleaning, more laundry, throwing away things etc.

My pink roses are amazing this year. I received two bushes for my birthday the other year and they seem to be happy in our garden. Filled with lovely pink roses giving us lots to enjoy.

Tonight we are going to bbq some nice beef served with potato gratin and a bbq sauce. Our youngest could chose whatever he wanted and this was his choice. He hasn’t bbq all summer like we have – lol.

Torn

The sunset last night delivered again – almost every night all summer we have been blessed with these amazing views. Something to remember and treasure as fall comes and the every-day-life starts again.

Packed up this morning and left after breakfast and our last morning dip in the ocean. Feels sad to leave – especially as the sunny hot weather has returned. But, we long for our young one so it felt a bit torn to both wanna leave and go home.

The drive went quickly and with hardly any traffic. It was great to see F and give him a BIG hug again. We picked up some thai food for dinner, did some laundry, downloaded the photos from my mobile and now we are watching the last episode of “Stateless” that we started watching in our paradise.

Cleaning day

This morning it was above 19C in the ocean. So nice! Too bad it is our last full day in our paradise. Tomorrow it is time to pack up and head home.

Spent the day doing laundry, vacuuming, packing, getting organized. Also took a long walk with my youngest niece which was a lovely break in everything else.

This year it was my turn to clean our bbq. My mother assisted (thank you <3 ) but it still took us a while. But, now it is ready to be stored for winter and it is so nice to have a clean grill when you want to start using it next spring again.

Tonight my sister is cooking for us – fresh pasta with chicken in a creme fraîche sauce. Yum! And then we are going to enjoy our last evening together for this vacation. It’s been a great month and I am so grateful that we could spend it together. Almost all of us.

Shrimp sandwich

Today me, my sis and youngest niece went down to Färjestaden to run some errands. We started straight after breakfast and could enjoy an early lunch at an almost empty restaurant. My first lunch out since March. I think. Thank you, mom, for treating us!

This afternoon me and my parents went for an 1 walk along the coast. It has been another lovely sunny day – what a vacation we’ve had!

Tonight we had our first dinner on our new wooden deck – we bbq pork filet and corn on the cob. Served with oven baked vegetables and potatoes. So nice. Great job to complete the deck!

Kroppkakor

On at least one occasion we need to have “kroppkakor” during our summer visit to our paradise. This local speciality is something we all look forward to – potato dumplings filled with smoked pork, onions and allspice / pimento. Served with lingonberry jam and – if you like – melted butter and/or cream. And a glass of beer.

A sad morning when our oldest niece took the bus back home. Miss her already. Had to take my first morning dip in the ocean without her company today – but my parents still came along and that is great! I’m so glad they have joined us here for our last week. Just wish my youngest was here too – can’t wait to see him!
