Dark

It’s so dark still – but our days are getting a bit lighter slowly but surely. Can’t wait for it to be daylight going to work and coming back.

Long day at work and I am quite tired now. Fortunately hubby has started to work from home when I have my long days, so he is in charge of dinner those days. Lovely. Perfect solution. Tonight he had prepared a pork filet with oven baked potatoes. Mmm.

No handball for Sweden tonight, but we did manage to win our group. But, we only managed a tie last night. Bummer. Shared point is better than no point I guess. Next round is the middle one and first game is towards the most difficult team – Portugal. Then we are playing Norway and Brazil too before it’s time to see who advances up to the quarter finals.

Foggy

New week already. Worked my short day and decided to take my walk in town instead of skipping the last bus. I thought it might be nice to walk along the water by the castle over to Slussen, but it was very foggy and quite chilly so it wasn’t so nice after all. But, I got my steps in so that was good.

Had a late lunch when I got home and helped my boys with some things before I could crash for a bit in my corner before dinner. I have made a liver stew for me and hubby and will make chicken tenders for the boys in a bit.

Then tonight our handball team is playing the last game in the group round – facing the most difficult opponent this time in Spain. Fingers crossed we will win!

Premiere

Yesterday we didn’t get groceries so we did that today instead. Hubby has been a busy bee putting up the new lights in the kitchen cabinets – perfect! So happy I finally can see what I’m doing while preparing dinner.

While he did that I took away the rest of the Christmas decorations and boxed everything for next year. Time to take out the tree – it is still pretty though and hasn’t started to let go of the pine needles. We could have put it up earlier if we would have known it to be this long lasting.

Now we are treating ourselves to a premier “semla” – a sort of cream bun with almond icing inside. Well, I am, hubby is enjoying a filled donut instead. Watching the last episode of the second season of “Silo” on Apple TV.

Family day

Today it was time for us girls to enjoy our mother’s birthday present – to watch the musical “Dreamgirls” at the China Theatre in town. We had chosen an afternoon show so we could meet up with the rest of the family afterwards for dinner. The show was pretty good with great singers and costumes. I didn’t recognize that many songs though – but two of them are quite famous. “One night only” being one of them.

Our regular restaurant was fully booked so we tried the fish restaurant in Fruängen instead. They had both fish and other dishes so everyone was happy. Delicious food and good prices. Win win.

Now I’m tucked in my corner after a long day. Handball on the tv – Sweden facing Chile in their second game. So far so good.

Weekend – here we come

Whoaa what a week but now it is Friday and I ended the week having lunch with an old friend and former colleague. Nice to see him and chat for a bit.

A great game last night with a win to start the tournament in handball. Next game tomorrow.

We were given a couple of free months of Apple TV and now we are going thru some series we have longed for. For instance, the channel shows “Slow Horses” – a series we both love, so we could watch two more seasons. We really recommend this one!

Change

Time to replace our computers at work, something we do every third year. The stack of empty boxes was almost up to the ceiling. Puh. A very busy day but we got a lot done and only a few things left to deal with, but tomorrow is another day.

Very tired after a long day on my feet. Hubby had prepared blood pudding with bacon for dinner – haven’t had that in quite a while. We used to eat that a lot more when the kids were little, but I enjoy it and it is very inexpensive food. Healthy too. So, a win-win.

Now we have the first game in the world championships in handball to look forward to tonight. The tournament has already started, but tonight the group Sweden is in enters the game. 8 groups with 4 teams in each. We have Spain, Japan and Chile in our group. The top three in each group qualify for the middle round. Important to get a good start!

View

Our office is located in a great spot in town. We are in the building opposite from this – on the third floor. I love the view over the shopping street Biblioteksgatan and the lower part of Mäster Samuelsgatan. Pas d’Art is situated on the corner – a great French restaurant with good well-cooked food. Once the location of Wienerkonditoriet – a very old pastry-shop that unfortunately closed down.

The Xmas-decorations are still up but I guess they will be taken away shortly. We need to take away our Xmas tree at home too – but I am still enjoying it so a few more days… Lol.

Have a rise/pork-casserole in the oven – something all four of us like so no need for different choices tonight. Lovely.

Icy roads

Today I had an extra challenging start going to the busstop. Ice all over and even though there was some gravel put out to prevent slipperiness it still was very slippery. But, fortunately I didn’t break anything.

Long quite busy day today and it was nice to finally head back home to a set table. My hubby is working from home twice per week and then he is preparing the dinner. Nice. More leftovers on the menu served with some gratin. Mmm.

Grey

New week – can’t believe how quickly the weekends pass by. We packed away a lot of the Christmas stuff but we haven’t taken down the tree yet. It’s still very pretty and I love the scent of fir tree indoors.

Decided to try to start a new habit and walk back from the subway at least once per week. Starting today. Missed the bus by a minute or two so faith gave me a nudge and I walked the 2,5k back in the grey cloudy weather. Very windy but not that cold. Gave myself a pat on the back when I arrived back home.

Now I am doing some laundry and trying to figure out what to make for dinner to my troops. Still plenty of leftover in the fridge so maybe I’ll make something of those.

Walk

What a lovely day – sunny and no wind! After breakfast me and my hubby took a long walk to pick up a parcel we had received. It took us about an hour and a nice 5k later we arrived back at the house. Lovely.

The parcel was from my extended family in California – love them and miss them so much. I hate the long distance between us. Our visit last year was very special and gave us a lot of nice memories to treasure.

Now I’m back in my corner again cheering on our girls playing for the bronze towards Czechia. Unfortunately they lost 2-1. Bummer.
