Fifth game

Tonight our team is playing the fifth game in the Women’s Champions League. This time facing Barcelona FC – the team we lost 9-0 to in the previous game. Tonight we are playing a home game, which will be a big difference than last time with a massive support from 20 000-ish people in the audience cheering on our green/white ladies. The supporters have really made a name for themselves all over Europe – no other team has this kind of large devoted fan group for a women’s team. So proud!

Tonight there will also be a special celebration after the game when they will tribute one of our players – Ellen Gibson – who is playing her last home game for Hammarby after a whole life in the green/white jersey. Some even call her “Mrs Hammarby”!

Another player is also doing her last game – Jonna Andersson – after a couple of years with us. She is returning to her original club where she started her carrier. She has been a great contribution to our team and is also representing Sweden in our national team.

We will watch the game from home since it is such a late game and a workday tomorrow. The result ; 18746 attending and a 3-0 loss
