Today it was the yearly church bazar when they have a big get-together to raise money for the organization Act Church of Sweden. A good cause and reason to spend some money since it is for a good cause. My mother and her friends prepare a lot of stitchwork, knittings and crochet work that they sell at this event. Today there was a choir concert in church to make even more people attend. So nice.
This afternoon we had more fun. We were invited to our friends house to celebrate that they have lived there for 30 years. So, they treated us to a “glögg”-party with a lot of home made goodies. Nice! Great initiative and reason to see each other!
Now we’ve crashed in our corners after a day full of impressions and fun things. I think I am going to sleep like a log tonight!
Finally
What a lovely day! Finally it was time to welcome Xmas to the office! My colleague had put up all the advent lights in the windows when I arrived to work. So nice! Then the Xmas-tree was delivered and we could decorate it. Love it! And it smells so very nice too!
Worked a long day today. I intended to stay on a bit for a short afterwork but everyone was so busy working so I skipped it and went home to my boys instead. Hubby is at a Xmas-party tonight so we ordered some takeaway as a treat.
Now some corner time trying to install all the functions and apps in my new mobile phone. Puh.
Change
What a busy day! Worked a short day today and we had a lot of errands to complete outside the office. We got most of it done! Enjoyed a nice lunch in town before I headed back home.
The package that was supposed to arrive this afternoon was delayed. No new arrival date. Bummer. Part of the reason why I went home early. Oh well. Managed to put up my winter curtains and get some laundry done – so a productive afternoon and not a waste of time.
Lots of sports to enjoy on tv tonight. Hubby is away on a work-thing with his former colleagues. Nice that they get together every now and then.
Rainy day
Another rainy day. It is so very dark outside now too – longing for advent this weekend when we can put up the advent lights in the windows. And maybe some snow will arrive too to brighten up the world.
Long day today – me and my colleague switched days so I work my short day tomorrow instead. And another full day on Friday. Puh. This is the second week with changed schedules but as of next week things will get back to normal again. It is very confusing when the schedule is changed – you quickly loose the sense of which day is which.
Chocolate cake
Happy birthday, dear hubby! Now we are the same age again for a little while – lol. No flag up though – it was completely dark when I we left for work this morning and it will be completely dark when you get back from work.
I hope you will have an amazing birthday with – almost – the whole family here to celebrate you this evening. I have baked butter rolls, a sticky mud cake with whipped cream and I bought this beauty of a cake. A chocolate mousse as per request.
What a nice evening we had! Thank you everyone!
Warm weather
What a great weekend we had. Now it’s time to role up the sleeves and get back to work again. Good that we bought some treats at the Cloetta store in Linköping yesterday! And that I have such a pretty bowl to put them in (gift from my sister).
Today it was much warmer again with about 10C outside. So strange. Didn’t need my winter-coat today – back to the fall-coat again. It’s been raining off and on all day too – no snow left.
Been a busy bee 🐝 this afternoon doing house chores and getting ready for our guests tomorrow. It will be nice to see everyone!
Castle of the month – Linköping
After breakfast we checked out from the hotel and headed over to see the castle of this month – Linköping – and the cathedral right next to the castle.
The castle is the oldest inhabited secular building in Sweden and was set up at the 12th century. It was originally a residence for the bishop. King Gustav Vasa took over the castle in 1527 and he lived there during his visits to Linköping.
Since 1796 the castle is the residence to the governor of Östergötland and even today it still has the governor’s state apartment for representations and also private residence.
The cathedral next door was an amazing church to see and combined they hold the Linköpings Castle- and Cathedral museum. Linköping’s Cathedral church is one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval cathedrals, its construction beginning in the early 13th century. Only the cathedral in Uppsala is larger than this church in Sweden. Well worth a visit!
Visiting friends
After our regular Saturday chores and lunch we packed ourselves in our car and drove over to Linköping for a weekend treat.
We checked in to the hotel Ekoxen and relaxed for a bit before it was time to walk over to our friends for a lovely reunion and fantastic dinner.
We had the best evening and were spoiled rotten! Seven hours of non-stop chatting later we walked back to our hotel to call it the night. What a great day!
Birthday
Special Friday – it’s my mother’s birthday. Happy birthday, mom! Love you!
The whole family gathered together tonight to celebrate her. She treated us her delicious home made “smörgåstårta” for dinner – burgers for those who preferred that. Mmm. Then swiss rolls with raspberries with the coffee. What a treat!
We had a great time tonight chatting and spending time together. So nice. They are going on a boat trip tomorrow morning quite early so we didn’t stay too late.
It’s been a very cold day with -7 C almost all day. Brrr. Winter is here. Next weekend it’s time to celebrate the 1st of Advent. Where did this fall go? Time goes by way too quickly.
Fourth game
Tonight our ladies are playing their fourth game in the Women’s Champions League. This time a home-game but towards the same team as last time – Manchester City. Then we lost 2-0. Fingers crossed we will win tonight.
Our team has really made an effort to sell as many tickets as possible to give our ladies the best support. Before the game over 22 000 tickets were sold and 20 428 people attended the game! New record! The roof top of the arena is closed due to the snowy, cold and windy weather. Good choice!
A very tight first period with the only goal from our guests. Now we need to step up for the second period in order to get the three points we so desperately need.
Two quick goals in the start of the second period – Hammarby doing the first and then the 2-1 goal by Manchester City. This is the end result unfortunately – but, boy, our ladies played very well!
