When I was working for HP back in the day the company had a financial year ending October 31st and we always celebrated our New Year with a party. Tonight we had an alumni gathering with colleagues working together before 2002. About 50 people attended the event and we had a great time catching up and re-connecting with people from our past.
Afterwards me and my dear friend went to a nice dinner, just the two of us, and it was nice to sit down and chat for a bit. A very long day but now I’m off for three days. Perfect. I’m going to enjoy the time off and I really hope I can sleep good tonight and catch up on some sleep.
Handball
Long day at work but not very busy.
After work me and my colleague went over to Skanstull for some dinner before the game. Then we met up with my dad and his friend to watch handball together.
Our team facing Karlskrona – a team that is in third place right now so very tough resistance. But, we managed to win with the clear numbers 35-25. Yeah! Great positive energy to bring back home! Perfect. And so fun to go and watch some handball – haven’t been in a long time.
Pyssel hos N – 29 okt
Fall break
This week it is fall break for the schools and a lot of my colleagues are either away with their families on a holiday or work from home.
Not many colleagues at the office today with other words and by the end of the week we will only be a couple on site.
Short day today and I’ve been doing laundry this afternoon. Made “falukorv” (a kind of sausage) with baked white beens for dinner. Pasta for the boys. And some veggies.
Errands
Early start with an appointment at the hospital. Everything went according to plan. Good. Check!
Since we got up early we continued our morning doing useful things – went to the waste-disposal-site, did a lot of laundry, went to IKEA to buy the duvet that was out of stock last time, looked for new gaming chairs for the boys (no luck though), lunch at McD and then back home again. Puh.
Winter-time starting today. Nice to sleep in an extra hour. So far so good. Not too fond of the other consequences though.. lol.. lunch later, dinner later, getting off work later.. Lol. But, it’s nice with the daylight saving time that the mornings are not as dark for a couple of weeks.
Family dinner
So nice with a day off! We went grocery shopping after breakfast and then we had a nice carbonara for lunch. Mmm. Spent a couple of hours in the garden getting rid of leafs, picking up apples, taking away the decorations and the solar cell lights (they don’t get enough light to shine in the evenings anymore) and also packing up the outdoor furniture for the winter. Nice to prepare for winter!
This afternoon our team played an away-game towards Sirius and managed to win 3-0. Yeah! Keeping our second position this round too. Two more games to go. Fingers crossed the teams behind us don’t win their games this round – that would create a safer distance the upcoming rounds.
Tonight we were invited to my parents-in-law for dinner together with my parents. Lovely! We were treated a delicious three-course-dinner with elk as the main course. We don’t eat that very often but it is very tasty! Thank you for a great evening!
Family time
What a crazy week and finally Friday and some family time with dinner to close the work-week.
I picked up some nice meat on my way home and served it with some sallad, gratin and sauce bearnaise. Mmm.
Lovely to have dinner all four of us together too – I’ve been out a couple of times this week and as fun as it is I miss my family. Next week I will not be able to have dinner with them three nights in a row. Not good. Fortunately that doesn’t happen very often.
Gallery
After work me and a colleague went to an art gallery on Södermalm called Killgissa to look at work from Anna-Maria Rogberg. She makes the most fantastic paintings – mostly of her daughters. They are all supposed to transmit a feeling of joy, calm, happiness etc and she really succeeds in her effort. The exhibition was very small so we didn’t stay very long but I’m glad we went.
Afterwards we went to a Greek restaurant close by that I really like and we had a lovely dinner enjoying great food. Their lamb souvlaki is amazing! We had a very nice evening together. Now I’m back home tucked in my corner for a bit before it’s time to hug my pillow. Another week has almost come to an end. One more day to go.
City by night
Last night, after dinner, when I was walking to the subway I passed Sergels Torg. I really like how they lit up the glass statue and let it glow in different colors. Right now it’s pink – I’m assuming it’s because of the breast-cancer-awareness month. I bought myself a pink ribbon to support the fundraising for the research. Good cause!
Very tired today due to the lack of sleep but I’m hoping it will turn around soon. I will spend the afternoon doing as little as possible. Figuring out what to make for dinner can be a challenge though – but I think we might finish off some more leftovers. That would be nice.
Tuesday treat
Puh what a day. So many things – one meeting after another. Also a send-off and thank you coffee this afternoon to our invaluable IT-manager who is starting a new job. It was nice to give him some extra appreciation.
After work me and my admin colleagues went out to an afterwork dinner together at a restaurant close to our office. We had a really nice time and the food was excellent. Now I am so full and hopefully I will sleep like a baby after this eventful day.
