New week

New week – new challenges. And a lot of fun events to look forward to. Today I was invited to an alumni-evening with old colleagues from HP – pre Compaq, which means we who worked together before 2003 or there around. Fun!

Managed to not work overtime today – yeah. Assisted my oldest son a bit when I got back home. My youngest started school today and he had a good first day, I think. He will not be there every day of the week – next time is on Thursday. So some work from home this time too.

Made a chili for dinner – 3 hours in the oven. Perfect food when I get off early. We eat it with nachos and all the regular taco-trimmings. Mm.

Good job

My hubby managed to complete the race last night and arrived home with a medal. He didn’t reach the goal he had set up for himself but he was still happy about the race. Well done, hun!

Today we have worked some in the garden until it started to rain. Then we have been a bit lazy watching the remaining episodes of “Perry Mason” on HBO, season 2. It was quite good and we can recommend it!

Tomorrow my youngest starts school again. I hope he has a great day and that this will be a good education for him. Two years to complete. Good luck and I’m sure you’ll do well.

Bronze and 40 year anniversary

This morning Sweden was facing Australia in the bronze-game in the Women’s World Cup and they played great and won 2-0. Yeah! So well deserved!

We’ve done our chores today and tonight we had a nice pasta dinner together with strawberries for afters.

Tonight my hubby is going to participate in the 10k rum Midnattsloppet which celebrate 40 year anniversary this year. Can’t believe it’s been that long since we first started working on this event. Hubby has participated several times – somewhere around 15 times or so. Fingers crossed he will reach the goal he has set up for himself. I will cheer from home following his way around the track on the live website. Great service! Go hubby!

Stronger

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, or so they say. I had a really challenging task this morning that kept me up half the night. But, it all worked out for the best and tonight I’m sure I’m going to sleep like a baby again.

Crashed for a bit when I got back home but then I took care of some of our apples and put some in the freezer and some in a crumble pie for tonight. Mmm. A whole bunch of them fell off the tree last night so not many left now unfortunately. But, we have another tree that isn’t ripe yet.

Bbq pork loin tonight and it turned out really good. Served with some fries and bbq sauce and a glass of white. Let the weekend begin.

Work work

I have only worked a few days after summer vacation and I already need a new time off. Lol. Fortunately, after a day like this, it is great to have memories like this one to think back on. Just close my eyes and listen to the sound of silence, the water in the ocean, the birds in the sky and just gain energy from the beauty of the sunset.

We finished some of the leftovers – great to start fresh when the weekend comes. Maybe we’ll pick something up tomorrow since it is Friday.

I have a very busy morning tomorrow so fingers crossed I will not “work” all night and instead be able to sleep. My mind tend to get caught up in problem-solving instead of resting during the night.

Apples

Apples.. We have a lot of them this year – need to make us of at least some of them. Made a pie so far but need to put some in the freezer for later. Gave a bag of them to both our parents – so that’s good.

My parents stopped by after work for a coffee and to pick up the things we brought back to them from our paradise since they were not driving straight home.

Also, I gave my mom an early birthday present that we bought for her. It has a solar cell and she will have more time to enjoy it during the fall rather than having to wait until spring. Not enough sunshine around her birthday to make it work. Happy early birthday, mom!

Semi final

Today I wore my soccer jersey to work to show some extra support to our ladies playing semi finals towards Spain. After our morning meeting most of my colleagues who were in the office gathered together to watch the game on one of our big screens. Fun! It would have been even more fun if we would have won… Lost 2-1 and now we are playing for a bronze instead of a gold in the next round. Bummer.

Picked up a tuna sandwich for a quick lunch and have been really busy the rest of the day. Even stayed over for a bit to leave with a good conscience.

Made chicken with rise for dinner and now we are enjoying a cup of tea and soon the last episode of “Allsången” will begin. Too bad it is pouring down outside right now.. What a day.

Fresh start

Got up early this morning and got ready for work. Met my oldest niece on my way and we could travel together. Nice.

Short first day but had to stay on for an hour. After a late lunch when I got back home I decided to make myself useful and treat my boys so first I made an apple crumble pie that we can enjoy tonight and then I made a lasagna that we had for dinner. Burgers and pasta for the non-lasagna-eater. Now some corner time  watching the last episode of “Den som dräper”.

Chores

Time to get back to the regular chores again starting with grocery shopping and more laundry. After lunch I’ve been a busy bee cleaning the house – vacuuming, mopping, dusting. Also did some ironing. Picked a bag of apples for my parents-in-law who came over for a coffee in the afternoon.

Going to try to eat a bit healthier for a while now and skip as many calories from sodas and other drinks as possible. Water with the meals from now on.

Tomorrow the alarm is set at 06.00 AM again – going back to work again. Still some colleagues on vacation I think but most of them are back tomorrow. Summer vacation went by too quickly – as per usual.

Drive home

Summer vacation already over. Four weeks passed by way too quickly and today it was time to pack up and start the drive back home again.

12.5C in the ocean this morning but hardly any wind so it was quite nice anyway. My hubby came along but just to keep me company.

We were treated a very nice sunset last night – just like I was hoping for. A very nice last evening this visit. Now we are back home again – the journey went with no problems or traffic so that was nice. It was also great to hug my youngest son again whom I haven’t seen in a couple of weeks. Now some corner time catching up on a series we follow.
