Rowan berries

A lovely sunny day in-between the rainy grey ones. And there are so many rowan berries on the trees that shine so bright red in the sunshine. So pretty. Some say that when there is a lot of rowan berries there will be a lot of snow in the winter. We’ll see if that is true.

Long day today and we were so tired when we got home from work that we treated ourselves a take-away pizza. After dinner my parents stopped by for a quick chat and to give me my tickets for the track & field event this weekend. Fun! I hope the weather Gods are with us too and won’t drown us in rain.

Pyssel hos K – 30 aug

Tired

Didn’t sleep so good last night for some reason. A lot of things on my mind. Long day at work and quite busy so now I’ve crashed in my corner for a bit. Hubby got off earlier than me today so he had dinner on the table when I arrived home. Luxury! Nice to be served every now and then.

Me and my parents are going to attend the Finnkampen this weekend. The weather forecast doesn’t look very promising though – I really hope they are wrong. Right now they have predicted 20mm on Saturday which is a bit more than what I would like when sitting outside for hours.

Booking completed

New week again. And this one ending with the first day of September. Where did August go?

We managed to make our reservations to visit my extended family and friends later on this fall. Yeah. Finally. Haven’t seen them since 2017 so it’s about time. Wow. Feeling a bit emotional and I’m so happy me and hubby can do this together. He hasn’t come along since 2013. The boys will stay home this time.

Puh. What a day.

3 points

Both me and hubby were really tired today – probably due to the vaccine yesterday. The arm we took the shot in hurt a bit too. Hopefully this is it and we won’t get any more side effects from the shot.

Watched our team on TV today from my corner – an away-game and we crushed it! Wow. Didn’t really dare to hope for a win but so glad we managed to secure 3 points. Important to keep up with the other teams.

We haven’t booked out tickets yet.. need to update our names in our Eurobonds accounts. The customs are getting picky about the registration having to be exactly like the names are in the passports. So, in order to use our collected points as part payment of tickets we need to do this. Hopefully it will be done by tomorrow and hopefully the price of the trip won’t escalate too much either.

Best start

This morning we had the best start of the day with a dip in the ocean. So pretty and quiet. And not as cold as our last week in paradise either.

A great breakfast to follow and then time to head back home.

After our regular chores and lunch me and hubby went to get our vaccination shot #5 for covid. They said a new kind of vaccine is coming later on this fall, but we chose to take this one anyway which is probably giving a good protection as well.

Tonight we are invited to coffee and cake to celebrate my youngest niece who is turning 21 in a few days. Looking forward to that!

Different location

This morning a bus took us out in the archipelago for a day of education / conference and teambuilding.

An hour later we arrived to the conference establishment for a day of education and also some relaxation.

Me and another colleague stayed in this cute little cottage by the water. Lovely.

After a full day we were treated a nice four course dinner and a few hour later it was time to hug our pillows.

Opening ceremony

After work tonight me and a couple of colleagues were invited to the opening ceremony of the amazing reconstruction of the 120 year old building that suffered a big fire 6 years ago. The stone front of the house survived the fire so the owners managed to save it and rebuild the rest of the house. Amazing work. And I love the ornaments and decorations on the house – such as this little fellow. The building was built in a national romanticism style / tudor style and is a true treasure well worth restoring.

Anyways, lovely to mingle and enjoy a few treats before going home to get dinner on the table to my young adults. Hubby is away tonight participating in another run – 5k this time. A relay with 5 x 5k distances and he is running with his colleagues. Best of luck!

Play date #102

Midweek already and quite a busy short day. Nice to have a lot of things to do!

After work I treated myself a “good-to-go” at the Essie Nailbar in town to try and save whatever is left of my nails from working in the garden. I chose a purple / lilac colored tone called “play date”. Love it.

This afternoon I had a second appointment – this time at the dentist for a yearly checkup. New dentist – our previous one retired last year – and I guess she was ok. Very nice to talk to but I truly hate dentist-appointments. One of my teeth dental work is starting to come loose so she wanted to re-do that work. A new appointment booked for October. Fingers crossed and lots of prayers that I won’t need a root-filling. Not sure I will go thru with that again after last time.

Long day

Long busy day and now I’m exhausted. Have done a lot of walking today and climbing stairs due to escalators being faulty. But, I guess I should be glad for all the involuntary exercises – lol. What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger, right?

Left-over dinner tonight – I finished all the veggies and made a sallad – the boys ate the meat. Now tucked in my corner waiting for the world athletics championships. Last night was a great event when our Daniel Ståhl managed to take the gold medal in discus. Not sure what Swedes that are competing tonight.
