Morning dip in the ocean – 17.3C in the water. A bit colder than yesterday, let’s hope it is not a new trend going forward. 

After breakfast me and my sis drove in to Borgholm to get some groceries. After lunch my family took a nice 3k walk around the block. Lovely weather today and no rain. 

I made a pork filet casserole for dinner and we could sit outside and enjoy the meal. Lovely! After dinner we curled up in our corners to cheer on our team in soccer and could enjoy a 3-0 victory towards Göteborg. We needed that win! Yeah! 

First day of my vacation has come to an end. May the rest of my time off be as nice as today. 

Got up at 8 this morning and took a morning dip in the ocean together with my mother. 18.1C in the water. Not bad. First one of many – hopefully. 

It’s been a nice day with both rain and sunshine. Me and my hubby went for a 3k walk after breakfast. After that we have just relaxed, I have worked on my knitting, we’ve played board games, had a great dinner with homemade burgers. Ended a perfect day with an episode of a new series. And talked to my youngest who had made himself a minced pie for dinner. From scratch. *So proud of him*. 

Got up early this morning and packed the car. Finally time to head down to our paradise – three of us at least. Our youngest will remain at home for a while to start with and tend to our house (his choice). 

Not much traffic and the trip went by in 6 hrs. Could sit outside for a nice coffee and ice cream with our family when we arrived and then enjoy a bbq dinner later on. So nice to be here again and get a chance to relax and regain energy. 

Sweden plays their first game in the European Championships tonight facing the Netherlands. Fingers crossed they will go thru to the next round. 

This morning the plumber arrived early and was able to clear the clog and then we were finally able to start doing our laundry. Yeah. 

Worked my last day for a while (hopefully) and we managed to complete a lot of things before vacation starts. Great. Now I need to try to focus on my time off and not stress about all the things I need to do when I get back. 

Today our tivoli rose started to bloom. It is so pretty in red and yellow. Hubby finished renovating the porch too. One thing after another falling into place. Let the vacation begin! 

This morning our new laundry machine was delivered but our drain is clogged up so all the water ran out over the floor instead of into the outlet. Oh well. We tried to find a plumber or similar to help us and the earliest time to come to our assistance was tomorrow morning. So, another day without doing laundry came and went. Hopefully the plumber can clear whatever is clogging the drain.

My oldest niece stopped by to get her graduation present which finally had arrived. Nice to see her and her friend for a minute. My oldest is with his friends tonight so only three of us for dinner. Made pork filet with bulgur and green peas. Mm.

Last night we started to watch a new mini-series on Disney+ called Vigil. It is about a murder on a submarine. Quite good! Now we’ve crashed in our corners for another couple of episodes.

What a strange day. It’s been rain and sunshine off and on. My hubby has been working outside trying to finish painting the porch. 

After work me and my youngest went to get rid of some garbage and also buy some groceries for him since he won’t be joining us in paradise to begin with. Good to fill up the freezer with some things he likes. 

Our garden is really enjoying these sunny rainy days! Love these yellow ones my parents gave us years ago. The tomato plants are starting to have something that might turn into tomatoes later – lol. How fun! 

Busy long day at work. We decided that I should remain working from home the rest of the week since I still have a lot of symptoms and my colleagues don’t want to risk catching anything before their vacation. Probably a good decision. 

My hubby has been busy today painting the front porch. Looks great! Still has a day or so to go before he is finished though but what a difference! 

Made burgers for dinner tonight. Leftover-lasagna for lunch. Still have this awful metallic taste in my mouth and also lack of taste / smell remains. But, I can get a notion here and there which gives me hope it will return. My legs have bothered me some today but that has also gotten better since yesterday. Also my ears are starting to hear again too – I’ve felt deaf like after a flight landing ever since I got sick. So many strange symptoms. Hopefully they will all disappear soon. 

A rainy start of the week. Good thing we don’t need to water the garden – the strawberries and rhubarbs are happy. Our tomato plants are growing a lot too – fingers crossed they will survive the summer and provide us with some tomatoes. 

Feeling slightly better today but still struggle with sore muscles, no taste or smell and I get cold sweats. Will work from home tomorrow too but I have hope to be able to go to the office after that.  

Our very first homegrown strawberries! One for each of our boys. They said they were delicious!

We were hoping we’d feel better today but no such luck. No fever, I don’t think, but my body aches – both muscles and bones – it is hard to find a position when it doesn’t hurt.

Also, today I can’t feel the correct taste or any smell and everything tastes funny. Noticed this last night when the mushrooms I had prepared were way too salty even though I hadn’t added any salt. In fact, they were so salty to me I had to throw them away. Disgusting. Weird. Not even coffee smells good right now. 

My stomach has also been pretty upset the last couple of days. Pretty soon we can tick off almost every symptom on the covid list. I just hope and pray this will be over soon. I will work from home the next couple of days and hopefully things have turned around by then. 

On my afternoon off Monday I picked a batch of elder flowers and now it’s been getting ready in the fridge all week. So, today I poured the batch into bottles and voilà! 

Since we are not supposed to go to stores at the moment we did our grocery shopping online yesterday and had everything delivered this afternoon. It works fine but it is really not the same as getting inspiration from a store. 

Don’t think I’ve had any fever today but my body aches and I cough. Hopefully things are turning for the better and we will be back to life again next week. But, we’ll see how we feel tomorrow.
