Talang semi

Friday again and time for my oldest niece to participate in the semi final of Sweden’s got Talent. Yeah! Live on national television – we will ge glued by the TV tonight. Oh, I wish them the best of luck and a ton of votes so they will go thru to the finale! They are really talented and I am so proud of her! Borrowed the photo from TV4/Gustav Hallén.

Worked from home today. It is such a privilege to be able to do that. I will work from home on Monday too. Perfect to get a mini break from commuting and most of my tasks are ok to do away from the office.

Just ordered some take away for us – a mixture of burgers, pizza and pasta. Perfect when everyone can get their own choice.

PS! They made it!!! Finale next weekend!!! *so proud* The visual effects on TV where amazing! If you would like to see their routine you can find it here ; TV4 Talang 2022 – MoveCompany Semi

Silver lining

Long day at work again. But finally Thursday which means one more day to go before weekend starts. And today our oldest came back home again so all four of us for dinner tonight. Yeah! Made pork filet with gratin and veggies.

Needed to erase some things on my mobile since it was running low on memory. Amazing how much memory the phone uses for things that I don’t know what they are for. A lot of apps and programs take a lot of memory too so it is not so easy to make more room since it can be tricky to know what to delete. I have had my phone for 3,5 years now so a new one is probably wise before too long.

Book recommendations

I got a couple of book recommendations from friends and decided to go to the bookstore after work to pick them up. But, they were not in stock so I ended up ordering them online instead. This is one of the books – The dressmaker of Paris. Not available in pocket in Swedish yet so I bought it in English instead.

Also I ordered “The Notebook / The proof / The third lie” by Ágota Kristóf and “The Family” by Johanna Bäckström Lerneby which was nominated for the August prize in 2020. Anyone read any of these?

I need to get back into reading again. If I find the right book the problem will sort itself out. Have to wait a couple of weeks for them to arrive though. But hopefully I will have them by the time we get some time off around Easter.

Celebrations

Today it is the international women’s day and what better way to celebrate it than going out to a nice dinner with just the women at my work? We had a lovely time and it was a really nice evening. I am so glad I came along. Great food and company!

Going back home I took the subway and had to way 20 min for the bus. But it was ok. Not too cold and hardly any snow left.

Now I’ve crashed with a cup of tea before it is time to hug the pillow.

Warning system

Today, Monday March 7th, the outdoor warning system is tested at 15.00 (3 pm). The signal sounds for 7 seconds, with 14 second breaks, for a total of 6 times. The alarm is called “Hesa Fredrik” for some reason, and it is tested the first Monday in March, June, September and December. The first time it was taken in use was way back in 1931, so we are very used to hearing it four times per year.

The government and media have talked a lot about this test the last couple of days and today since we have a war going on and closing in on us. To make sure we know it is a test and not the real thing. Hopefully we will never have to experience the real thing. Ever.

Cleaning day

Perfect with one more day of the weekend. My hubby cleaned our spa today while I cleaned the windows in the living room. Yeah. Great job!

Our oldest is spending some time with his friends tonight so it was just three of us for dinner. I made a lasagna. Perfect for leftovers!

I’ve been working on my jigsaw puzzle today and I am almost done. Need to complete it if we are going to have guests over next weekend. I only have a hundred pieces or so left.

Birthday-dad

Happy birthday, dear dad.

You have always been there for us – and together with mom – given me and my sis a great foundation to stand on. Family values, loyalty, respect and some common sense.

Today it is your birthday and we will meet up tonight, all ten of us, for dinner at a local restaurant and then some family time in your home. That sums up our family pretty much – everyone want to be there and enjoy time together. Something we all value and prioritize.

Flag up for you today, dad, and we’ll see you both tonight! Love you!

Mello semi finals 1 and 2

This year they have made a change in the competition and no longer call this particular part of the event 2nd chance anymore. Instead of having all the eight 2nd chance-participants compete two and two they have divided the contestants into two groups of four. Two from each group will go thru to the finale next weekend.

Fun semifinals to enjoy together with my sis/ wi family and parents!

The contestants tonight are;

Semi final 1:
1. Tone Sekelius – My way – finale
2. Alvaro Estrella – Suave
3. Danne Stråhed- Hallabaloo
4. Anna Bergendahl – Higher Power – finale

Semi final 2:
1. Theoz – Som du vill – finale
2. Lisa Miskovsky – Best to come
3. Lillasyster – Till our days are over
4. Cazzi Opeia – I can’t get enough – finale

Weekend

This week went by fairly quickly. Hardly anyone at the office since most of my colleagues either worked from home or were on winter-break somewhere.
Today I got off in time and picked up some frames on my way home for the kids photos for our bedroom. All of the frames in our bedroom are in light oak now and it is coming around pretty good.

Made a roast of veal for dinner – not our favorite but it turned out ok. Served with oven baked potatoes and a green pepper sauce. Now some corner time while we’re waiting for the premier of “Bäst i test” new season.

Sunset

Thursday and a long day at work. And what a day! I had some time left on my hands so I decided to go thru a lot of things I haven’t had the energy to sort before. Said and done – I cleared out a lot of things I have kept for some mysterious reason. Probably thought they might come in hand but as they haven’t during the last five years or so, I decided to get rid.

Had lunch with a colleague today which was lovely! So nice to get to know her a bit better and enjoy a nice meal in town together.

On my way back home from work I looked at one of the webcams we have in our paradise just in time to see the sunset. So good for the soul! Now we have enjoyed some time in our spa and shortly it is time to hug my pillow.
