Warning system

Today, Monday March 7th, the outdoor warning system is tested at 15.00 (3 pm). The signal sounds for 7 seconds, with 14 second breaks, for a total of 6 times. The alarm is called “Hesa Fredrik” for some reason, and it is tested the first Monday in March, June, September and December. The first time it was taken in use was way back in 1931, so we are very used to hearing it four times per year.

The government and media have talked a lot about this test the last couple of days and today since we have a war going on and closing in on us. To make sure we know it is a test and not the real thing. Hopefully we will never have to experience the real thing. Ever.
