Half and half

Monday already. I worked from home today but I will work from the office the rest of the week.

Made a shrimp salad for lunch – yum! I had an avocado at home and it was delicious. Always a gamble.

After work I took my oldest to his treatment at the hospital. Brought my crossword puzzle to pass the time waiting. No coffee today. Didn’t feel like it.

Started working on a new jigsaw puzzle when we got back home. Love doing that – very relaxing since you can’t really do anything else at the same time.

Winter break

Next week it is winter break in Stockholm. When the boys were little we used to spend this week skiing and enjoy some outdoor family time. This photo was taken in Lindvallen back in 2005 up by the big snowman.

The winter break week was so special to all of us every year – some times spent with my sis w/ family. Some times with my parents-in-law. And a couple of times all of us together. The boys learned how to ski and snowboard. They went to ski-class every day and had a great time.

Now the boys don’t have winter break anymore and the pandemic has prevented us from going. But, next winter we might treat ourselves a nice winter break somewhere. With some luck we might even go down to the Alps. Italy, Austria, France, Germany. Switzerland. Can’t decide. Fingers crossed we all have our health, ability and opportunity.

Mello 4

A beautiful Saturday! We slept in a bit and then we enjoyed the spa before breakfast. Lovely sunshine all day! After our errands and lunch we took a nice walk around the lake. Our oldest son joined us too.

Tonight it is the last part of the Mello before semi- and finals start. Trying a new kind of bubbly tonight – with apple flavor. Not a favorite as it turned out. The peach one last weekend was much better.

The participants tonight are;

Part 4:
1. Anna Bergendahl – Higher power – semi finals
2. Lillasyster – Till our days are over – semi finals
3. Malin Christin – Synd om dig
4. La Stella – Tenori
5. Medina – In i dimman – finale
6. Angelino – The end
7. Klara Hammarström – Run to the hills – finale

Oh – I managed to score 7/7!!! Never happened before.

22

This day 22 years ago our youngest son was born. It was a snow storm that night and not easy to drive to the hospital. Today there was no snow storm but a sunny lovely day with some snow still covering the back yard.

We’ve been home all four of us today – all working in separate rooms. I made a nice steak dinner with potatoes gratin and we could all sit down together and catch up on everybody’s day.

Tonight my parents and parents-in-law came over to celebrate their grandson. We had coffee and cake – a tradition princess-cake with the green marzipan cover (his favorite). It was a nice evening and I think he had a good birthday.

Oh – and my oldest niece’s dance group managed to go thru to the semi finals in “Sweden’s got Talent”. Yeah! Exciting!

Day off

A day all to myself. Got up when my hubby left for work (he had to go in today – for the first time in ages). Had breakfast, did some laundry, vacuumed. Then I went over to the local mall to have a look around. Found a pair of jeans that I bought and a present for my son (his birthday is tomorrow). Bought a cake, some food and baking stuff on my way back and now I’ve baked two kinds of buns (cinnamon and chocolate) to treat my boys.

Tried to stay away from work but I’ve answered some emails and a couple of phone calls. Not too bad. Going to work from home tomorrow and on Monday – which feels great and hopefully it will be just what I need to regain some more energy.

Russia invaded Ukraine today. A lot of casualties. Have no words. Feel empty. What is happening to the world?

Afternoon

Wednesday and my short day and I was able to leave on time. Strolled thru the city after work and had a late left-over lunch when I got back home.

My hubby had a meeting in town so it’s just me and the boys for dinner tonight. Now I’m doing some laundry, going thru my mail and enjoying some me-time catching up on some series on TV. A nice quiet afternoon and also I have the day off tomorrow since I’ve been working a bit too much lately.

Pia 🥂

Tuesday and a long day at work. We celebrated a colleague this morning and we were treated “semlor” with the coffee. Lovely!

Met up with and old friend for lunch and enjoyed some sushi and a great catch up chat. Nice to take a full hour lunch break too. I need to do that more often.

My hubby made dinner tonight so it was very nice to come home to a set table. Now I’m trying to catch up on my “mello-card” collection and trade cards with my friends. Making progress!

Happy names day, mom! Love you!

Snowy rainy day

Monday already. Yesterday we could enjoy this lovely weather. Then the storm came.. and it’s been snowing and raining all day. Not very photogenic. And definitely not very nice to be outdoors.

It was a real pain waiting for the bus this morning in the snowstorm. Then I worked a full day – didn’t even have time for lunch – and now I’ve crashed after feeding the troops here at home some minute-steak dinner. A big cup of coffee and catching up on some mail and online things. Then I’m going to bed early. Another long day tomorrow awaits.

Congratulations to a great game in difficult times with covid19, lockdowns, restrictions, not having family around etc. And the weather conditions in China has also been very challenging with a lot of last minute changes due to wind, cold or covid.

Mixed feelings

Bronze for the ladies (team Hasselborg). Gold for the men (team Edin). In curling. Yeah!

But, our pride and joy didn’t have any energy left from the intense game yesterday and lost the bronze game. Oh well.

Spent the entire day at the office helping out with some things here and there. Mostly support though and being there in case they needed me. Tomorrow I will be available online and via my mobile but hopefully I will not have to go in. One step closer to completing our it-project. Fingers crossed it will work as planned on Monday.
