Today I worked my regular hours again. I am not sure I am ready but I’ll give it a go. Short day today so the real challenge will be tomorrow when I work a full day.
Went to see my dentist after work because I have had some problems with a tooth that is aching on and off. It turned out the tooth had a big crack and now I need root filling. Bummer. My dentist will referral me to a specialist and they will perform the root filling under microscope, sort of. And then my dentist will make a crown to protect the tooth. Unless the specialist says they can’t fix the tooth – then I need to remove it. Or, I can chose to remove it right away but my dentist didn’t recommend that for various reasons.
My husband hurt his back this morning in the gym and had to see a naprapath. He is now in bed and in a lot of pain. What a pair.
Coffee
I started a bit later today and stayed for lunch at work. We have a joint lunch on Tuesdays which is nice to attend. After work I strolled thru the city and sat down for a nice latte before I went home. Lovely.
Tonight we had a really nice dinner with sirloin steak and oven baked potatoes. Tuesday luxury. Then we decided to enjoy our spa for a bit – and endured the rain (lol). Now tea and ice cream watching an episode of “Tunn is”.
New week
My last couple of days working 50%. I’m doing ok at work but as soon as I get back home I’m so tired and I don’t have any more energy left.
My appointment this afternoon was cancelled – the therapist was sick again. Next appointment is in two weeks. Not good. Phone meeting with my doctor on Thursday – let’s see where that leads. She wasn’t available any sooner.
I made a beef bourguignon for dinner. I enjoy that dish very much but my sons don’t. But, they ate some anyway. Now some quiet time watching “Homeland” and maybe “Hamilton” before it is time to hug the pillow.
Brunch treat
Sunday funday! Our parents treated all of us to brunch at Enskede Värdshus to celebrate dads birthday. All of us were able to participate and it was a great couple of hours together. The food was excellent and now we are so full and not able to move from our corners. Lol.
Thank you so much for treating us! Dinner will have to wait a bit tonight I think. A weekend filled with fun things – like my doctor ordered. Let’s hope it helps!
Mellofinalen
Finale-time! We have been complaining about the songs not being great so far but the more you listen to them the more they grow on you. No obvious winner though.
Per usual we are gathering at my sisters house (they have the best mello-couch ). We decided to all pitch in and bring a couple of dishes each and make a “smörgåsbord”. We brought chicken skewers in soya sauce, a cheddar cheese pie with creme fraîche and roe and a Scottish fish soup called Cullen Skink. The others had made so many tasty lovely dishes so we were all very full after dinner! Great job everybody!
Melodifestivalen this year has been led by Lina Hedlund, Linnea Henriksson and David Sundin and the finale takes place at Friends Arena as usual.
Result of the evening:
- 1. The Mamas – Move – winner – won by one point (!!) – close call
2. Dotter – Bulletproof
3. Anna Bergendahl – Kingdom Come
4. Hanna Ferm – Brave
5. Anis Don Demina – Vem e som oss
6. Paul Rey – Talking in my sleep
7. Felix Sandman – Boys with emotions- 8. Robin Bengtsson – Take a chance
9. Victor Crone – Troubled Waters
10. Mariette – Shout it out- 11. Méndez feat. Alvaro Estrella – Vamos amigos
- 12. Mohombi – Winners
ME won the desirable trophy to cherish for a year – she managed to score 3 correct answers (!), the other youngsters had either 1 or 2 correct answers and none of all six of us adults scored any points at all. Lol.
Oh what a night
Friday already. This week has gone by rather quickly. I have gone to work everyday and been exhausted in the afternoons so I’m not quite ready for more hours yet. But so far so good.
This morning we had a doctors appointment so I worked after lunch today instead of in the morning. After work I went home to get changed and relax for a bit before my parents picked me up for our fun evening together. We met up with my husband, sister and brother-in-law for dinner by the Globen and then we enjoyed the “Oh what a night”-concert. It was good (not great), not too loud and we had a great time together.
Birthday
Today it is my fathers birthday and tonight we went over there for a lovely piece of cake and other goodies. Yum. We will celebrate him properly with a gift and brunch on Sunday when all of us are able to be there.
It has been another grey snowy rainy day today. I stayed in town and had lunch with a colleague which was really nice. We had a great chat. When I got home I crashed for a few hours – so tired. I think I might need to prolong my part time sick leave for a while. I have been so tired in the afternoons all week. I will contact my doctor next week if I still feel the same. Otherwise I will go back on my 80% on Wednesday.
Happy Birthday, dad! You and mom are the best! Love you!
Rainy grey day
This morning we were supposed to go to the hospital for an MRI but for various reasons we couldn’t go. So instead of working afternoon I ended up working morning, which I didn’t mind.
Work was pretty good today – I took care of some things and managed to be a bit productive. Could assist with some issues and questions and felt like I was of assistance, which was good. I’ve been quite tired this afternoon though but one day at a time. Like this little man says “sometimes you need to go back in order to remember where you were going”. So true.
Thirty years ago..
On this day thirty years ago I met my husband-to-be. And we are still going strong. This fall we have been married for 25 years – an excellent excuse for celebrations.
I worked an hour extra today and it was a lot tougher than I expected. Guess I’m not quite ready yet. But, I did some actual work and I need to try a bit every day. Sooner or later I’ll be back again. Plenty of rest the other part of the day though. Enjoyed a long soak when I got home. Haven’t done that in quite a while.
Sunshine
This week I will be working halftime all week and try to relax and get new energy. On my way home I picked up some sushi and yakitori for lunch for me and the boys and after lunch I took a 45-min walk in the lovely weather. After that I was exhausted so I am not really up to speed just yet.
I’ve started on a new puzzle – this time a cartoon one that I borrowed from my sister. We’ll see how long this one will take me. Made a lasagna for dinner and now I’m going to crash in my corner for a bit.
