Really cold morning today with -7C and still some snow left from yesterday. My tooth feels ok today – thank God – but I had nightmares about the next session. Brrr.
Took a walk over to the care centre for my appointment after lunch. I haven’t seen her in in ages but we had a good talk today and scheduled another appointment for next week. Hopefully we can get a tighter frequency in our sessions so they actually go somewhere.
Made a cod casserole in a white wine sauce for dinner served with sweet peas, asparagus and boiled potatoes. Turned out quite nice. Beef with fries for the boys. Now some sofa time and maybe time in the spa. We’ll see.
No fun
The day I have dreaded for a very long time finally arrived. And I couldn’t do anything to avoid it. I slept remarkably well and worked my hours before lunch. Then I went to the odontologist specialist to begin my root canal filling. 2 hrs later I was done with the first half of the treatment. Next appointment in May. Can’t say I look forward to it. At all. But, I’m sure I’m in very good hands. She seems to know what she is doing and I guess it is almost impossible to do this treatment without pain. I just hate the feeling of complete helplessness – being entirely in somebody else’s possession and not being able to do anything about it. Just suffer thru the pain and dread the next tingle when a nerve is being exposed or touched. The anesthesia is no fun either. Especially the extra powerful one with adrenaline in. When you start shaking and can’t stop. When you mouth is filled with dental equipment to facilitate for the dentist. And today I had to be prepared like for a surgery with green cloth and sterilization of the area. Not my kind of fun.
My husband made dinner tonight. Thank you. I asked for something that was easy to chew so he made fish fingers with mash. Perfect.
Declaration and daylight saving
Suffered thru my declaration of income today. I know, plenty time left, but I honestly hate doing it so I wanted it to be over and done with. I have nothing special to declare so it really isn’t a big deal but this year I had a spin-off of one of my shares and it was quite tricky to understand how to make it work in the declaration. We did our best (my husband helped me) and I have now sent it in to the authorities. And paid the money I owed. Haven’t had to pay any extra tax for quite some time so I shouldn’t complain but it always sucks when you owe money to the tax authorities.
Summer time started today. It was a couple of degrees below OC this morning and we’ve had quite a sunny day. A snow-less winter (more or less). We are ready for spring now. No walk yet – but the day isn’t over so we might go out. My husband is stuck with his declaration though. Don’t want to disturb him.
Walk
We woke up early today and decided to enjoy the spa before breakfast. It can be quite nice out there in the morning – especially when the sun is shining, birds are singing and you just sit there and relax.
Before lunch me, my husband and oldest son went for a walk in the forest. We were gone for about 45 min – didn’t walk the whole way around the trail and instead took the short cut. So 3.5 km later we were back home again.
This afternoon it was a change of weather and it is no longer nice outside. So we have been watching a couple of episodes of the series “Condor” which is quite good. Have a nice evening!
Another week
Friday already. A full week working from home and it went above expectation. It looks like we will be facing this kind of work challenge for the next month or so. My work has daily online meetings which is nice to keep up some sort of togetherness and work ethic.
My parents stopped by for a garden coffee today. I had bought some groceries that they picked up. It is nice to be able to see them even though we don’t get close and sit outside. It was lovely outside today with 13C. It will be colder this weekend, I think. A lot of flowers are in bloom now which is lovely.
Waffles
Yesterday it was a national theme day – the waffle day – and since we didn’t honor that theme yesterday we decided to make up for it today. So I made a waffle lunch for the troops. Me and my husband started with asparagus soup and enjoyed a waffle for afters.
Felt like spring outside today – lovely sunny warm day. I didn’t go for a walk though just spent some time outside in the garden. Tonight we had soup again – as my husband pointed out – lol. I made a fish casserole for us and he served the boys chicken with noodles. Nice that we can split some chores.
Take away
Midweek and a good morning working from home.
After lunch my doctor called and postponed my appointment – again – until next Wednesday. Next week is now completely filled with appointments. But, I wouldn’t be surprised if one or two get postponed again.
We decided to get out of the house for a minute – we were out of the special kind of noodle soup that the boys like and the store that keeps them is in Fruängen. So we drove up there and also picked up some take away dinner. Shrimp skewers with bulgur for me. Yum.
My sister was an angel and stopped by with some flowers among other things. Love you!
Changes
Our neighbors across the street have sold their house and it will be torn down sometime soon. A construction company has bought it, apparently, and will divide the property into two. We haven’t received any written information other than a permit about the tear-down and a chance to object to that. They have now started to deliver fences and clear the house so I guess they will start with the project any day now. Should be interesting to see what they choose to do with the property and what new neighbors we will have.
Therapy
One of my closest friends said the best therapy is baking among other things.
So, after one of my doctors first called and postponed todays counseling session until next Tuesday, my other doctor called and postponed tomorrows appointment until Thursday and then finally my dentist called and scheduled my root filling part 1 to Monday (don’t know when she will do part 2 yet) I decided to bake…
The buns turned out great, by the way. At least one good thing about today.
Leftovers
Again I woke up early and enjoyed a quiet breakfast and a movie by myself before the family woke up.
I turned our leftovers into beef stroganoff served with pasta (yummy) and then we went out for a long walk for a little over an hour. A sunny nice day with a lot of people out enjoying the Sunday off.
Any ideas what to make for dinner?
