A different Valborg

This is a really rubbish year with the virus keeping us apart and not able to either see each other properly or travel. The Valborg celebrations were cancelled tonight but we decided to meet up for a coffee outside anyway. It was -2C this morning but it was about 10C in the afternoon, so it was bearable with blankets, extra clothes and the infra heater on. We rolled out the blind too to create a roomy feeling. Each family seated at separate tables with a bit of distance. I hope we’ll be alright.

We opened some fizz to celebrate my niece turning 21 this weekend. They brought a delicious cake and vanilla buns, grandma had bakes some cookies and I set the table and made the drinks.

No fire to enjoy tonight. We might go and get a takeaway pizza or something. Not really in a very festive mood. I am so grateful we could meet up today but I miss my friends and family terribly.

Therapy

I had another session with my therapist today and she said I have made a lot of progress and that we will have one or maybe two more sessions before she will let me go. Great news. Also I am taking an online course in the subject and it is quite interesting. To learn more about one-self and reflect on personally relevant values. You can learn a lot.

Another April-day if you see to the weather. Snow but no rain today. And quite sunny off and on. And below zero when we woke up this morning. I really hope it will warm up a bit tomorrow when we will celebrate my oldest niece who is turning 21 this weekend. Time flies.

Rainy day 🌧

A long slow day today. Quite chilly outside and it has been raining (and snowing at one time) off and on all day. So glad I didn’t have to go anywhere today.

Worked a full day today and now I’m beat. It is quite exhausting to work a whole day – I’m not quite up to my usual speed yet. But, I’ll get there.

Two short days left this week – then a long weekend ahead. Yeah. Let’s hope the sun and warm weather returns so we can be outdoors.

New challenge

Yesterday I completed my birthday present – the Peter Pan puzzle. It was quite fun to put together but probably 900 out of the 1000 pieces were blue.. So quite tricky.

Started my day with my physio therapy and then I worked my short day. Spent the afternoon taking an online course that a friend suggested for me. So far so good. I have also started a new puzzle – this one with New York city so it will be a challenge. My parents came over with two puzzles for me a few days ago – they have a lot of old puzzles to chose from so no need to purchase new ones.

Made cod served with spinach and rise for me and my hubby. The boys got chicken skewers instead of the fish. Now some corner time.

Spa

We woke up early today and decided to start the day in the spa. It is so nice out there in the morning – with the sun shining and birds singing. Lovely. Perfect way to begin the day.

After breakfast we went over to the local garden center and picked up some support-things for our roses. Last year they became too high to hold their weight and now we have cut them for the season and this support will be good for them as they grow big again. We also picked up a few flowers too. I love these slipper flowers – they remind me of my grandmother. Slowly but surely the garden is coming together. I have worked some outside getting rid of some weeds.

BBQ some beef and corn on the cob tonight served with oven baked potatoes. It is a bit too chilly to sit outside for dinner but we did enjoy our lunch outside earlier. Sunday almost over. Short week ahead.

Weekend

Saturday again. One more week left before I have to go back to the dentist for my second treatment. I am starting to having nightmares about it again. Not good. Can’t wait for this to be over and done with.

Grocery shopping was about the only thing on our list today and our oldest came with us to the store. Made rullades for dinner filled with blue cheese and served with fries. Yum. The weather has not been great – grey skies and almost raining, so no walk today. Now some quiet time in my corner before it is time to hug my pillow.

Cowslip

Friday already. This week has gone by really quickly. A lovely sunny week with almost a summer feeling to it. Now weekend arrives with a less warm forecast. Oh well.

We had an afterwork event today – nice to see my colleagues and chat for a bit over a drink – even though it’s over a video link.

Tonight we have met online with my sister and nieces and played a few games. So nice so see everyone and fun to interact and have some fun. Have a nice evening everyone!

(Oh – and a cowslip is a “gullviva”.. )

Exercise

This morning I had my second workout at the physio therapist. I will try to go there twice per week – even bought myself a punch-ticket so I won’t have to pay for each workout.

Worked a full day today and now I am quite exhausted. It’s been a very long day today with the workout before work and all. My parents stopped by for a quick visit to pick up their car which went truth the mot with flying colors. Good.

It’s been a lovely sunny day today but now the prognosis for the next couple of days looks less promising. Let’s hope it’ll still be ok.

Warm sunny day

Midweek means a half work-day for me. I had a lot on today and I am slowly getting back to my usual self but I can also feel that I’m not quite there yet.

This afternoon I have had another session with my therapist and it is quite apprehensive and eye-opening. New session next week.

My parents came over and dropped their car off. We will help them taking it to the mot (bilbesiktning) tomorrow. I had also picked up a few things at the store for them. So nice that we are able to assist and help out – especially in times like these.

Bumblebee

A very busy day at work. And I had company today. This beauty was flying around the living room and spent some time enjoying the sun in our windows.

My body aches today from the physio yesterday. Good. That means I did something right. Next session on Thursday.

Tonight we picked up food from India Dream. Me and my husband enjoyed the different dishes. Our boys were a bit more skeptic but tried it and said it was ok but I doubt we will be able to convince either one of them to try it again. They gave it a chance anyway so big E for Effort.
