Red gold

A very lazy Saturday. Both me and my husband had zero energy. We did go grocery shopping after breakfast but after lunch we crashed in front of the TV and watched a couple of movies instead of enjoying the nice weather outside.

Now we’ve had a beef dinner with these lovely strawberries for afters. Or actually, we’ve been snacking on them all afternoon. They were delicious!

Weekend again

Friday. Did some good today too. After we had finished work we went to pick up some thai food for dinner. I tried a new dish with panko fried shrimps which was really good.

I believe there is a lot of pollen in the air right now. Both me and my husband have been feeling it.

Now I’m going to cuddle up in my corner with a glass of white and enjoy the finale of Let’s Dance. May the best dancer win!

Specialization certificate

Yeah! I did it! I completed the 10 course training. Today I received my specialization certificate and I am so proud!

The ten courses included in the career success  course is;
1. Project Management: The Basics for Success
2. Work Smarter, Not Harder: Time Management for Personal & Professional Productivity
3. Finance for Non-Financial Professionals
4. Communication in the 21st Century Workplace
5. High-Impact Business Writing
6. The Art of Negotiation
7. Fundamentals of Management
8. Effective Problem-Solving and Decision-Making
9. Essentials of Entrepreneurship: Thinking & Action
10. Career Success Project

The last one was only available if you had completed the first 9 courses and it was quite a big project involving the knowledge gained from the courses to put together a SWOT matrix analysis, a 7-10 page report and a 15-20 min presentation which was peer-reviewed. Also I had to review other students work and grade it.

So now I have a specialization certificate from the University of California, Irvine Division of Continuing Education.

Exercise

Midweek and quite warm outside today. A sunny nice first half of the day but this evening it is really grey, windy and a bit rainy. Brrr.

Did my exercise at the physio today too. I’ve been there twice per week and I think I am about half way thru the treatment. I feel stronger but my knee is still making a funny noice.

We picked up some skewers tonight – chicken w/ fries for the boys and shrimp w/ bulgur for me. Nice every once in a while. I also returned some stuff I had ordered on line. Seldom a good idea to buy clothes on line but what can you do in times like these? Our local store across the street has stopped with the postal service which means we now have to travel to pick up and drop off post that is too big for our mailbox. I believe our local store will loose a lot of customers by not providing this service anymore. Their loss.

Broom

Our broom bush is in full bloom now and it smells gorgeous. I love it! So pretty.

Long day to work today and I’ve been quite busy. Made pasta for dinner and served it with a tomato/basil-flavored creme fraiche and some of the beef from the other day. Good use of leftovers creating a new dish.

Tonight we’ve watched a movie of Luc Besson called “Anna” which was quite good. A lot of good actors in it. Anyone else seen it?

Sunflower

New week – and a full week this time. Started the day with my physio therapy before work but it was a struggle today. Don’t know if it’s a lot of pollen in the air or what it is.

Worked my hours and even had to put some extra time in. Glad I could help though.

Now I’m doing some laundry, prepping for dinner and also enjoying time in my corner. If it doesn’t rain tonight we might sit in the spa for a bit. Fingers crossed!

Analysis

Sunday already. Our four-day-weekend is coming to an end. I have been quite tired today but tried to work on the SWOT analysis assignment. It is quite difficult since I’m not used to doing this kind of report. But, I’m going to give it a try and hopefully I’ll get enough together to get a passing grade.

We went to Fruängen to pick up the package with the telebox we had ordered for Öland. I wonder when we will be able to go down there and install it. I think we have all the things in place now with the fiber installation and transfer of the phone subscription.

23

Happy 23 b-day, son! Can’t believe you are getting so old? Where did all the years go?

It’s been bad weather all day so I’m so glad we decided to celebrate our son yesterday instead. Today’s been a long lazy day indoor just watching series on tv (and studying some).

We had a nice beef dinner and ended the evening playing online games with my sister and her family. Fun! Let’s do it again soon!

Birthday celebrations

Our oldest son turns 23 tomorrow so we had invited our family over for celebrations in our garden. But, the weather forecast promised rain tomorrow so we decided to have the celebrations today instead.

I had baked two kinds of cookies and a Swedish Brownie served with fresh berries and whipped cream. We had bought a princess cake too. It was lovely to see all of our parents and my sister with family even just for a couple of hours. It was quite windy though so when the sun went around the corner of our house it got a bit too cold to sit out there.

We went and picked up some pizza for dinner. Now I’m beat and will crash in my corner for the rest of the evening. A good day though! Thank you for making it a special day for our son!
