A perfect day to spend time in the garden. We had hired help this year to take care of our apple trees, elder trees and and bird cherry tree. They were done in a couple of hours and brought all the branches they cut off with them. Worth every penny.
My parents stopped by to check out their work and we had a cup of coffee outside in our back yard. It was quite chilly to sit outside but nice to chat for a while and spend time together. I hate this virus – it really interferes with our lives.
Tonight our friends are having dinner together but we decided (read : I decided) to not participate. I would have loved to be there but I don’t dare to risk bringing anything with me back to the boys. Especially since they now think you can spread the virus without having any symptoms. Scary shit.
Where to go
Friday again. I have worked from home for three days now and it has been ok. The technology has been working fine and I have been able to help out and assist my colleagues almost as well as I would have in the office.
Received this map today from a friend.. Lol. I guess we are all limited to our own houses for now since the world has gone crazy with house arrests and quarantines. Tonight we were treated dinner from my husbands boss – nice. They had to cancel an evening out with the staff and instead everyone was allowed to get a pizza-dinner for their families. Lovely gesture.
Now a glass of white and another episode of “The Passage”. Only three episodes left of the first season. Happy Friday!
Crocuses
A lovely sunny day and I’ve taken the breaks in our garden. Life is not so bad. The crocuses have started to bloom and I realize I need to plant some more in the fall. I have decorated the garden with our solar cell lights today. Need to see how many of them that are still “alive”..
Started the day with an online-seminar and continued with an online-office meeting with my colleagues. Worked perfectly. Great.
My doctor sent a letter and postponed my appointment next week until Tuesday. My knee has really started to bother me and it makes a terrible noice when I bend it. I also called the specialist who will do my root canal and they said they would contact me next week with a time for the procedure, but they thought it might not be until late April.
My new office
Working from home – of course it is different and can never be of the same level of support as if I would be in the office, but I think it is quite sufficient for the time being. I have been working my hours today and assisted in various matters. The switchboard works perfect too! Tomorrow I will attend two different Teams-meetings – fingers crossed they will work as smoothly as they are supposed to.
This afternoon I have relaxed and watched a couple of episodes of Chicago Fire Department – an old series I decided to follow. So far I’m almost thru the first season but I believe there are 6 or 7 seasons so plenty of more to enjoy. I have baked a chocolate cake, made bolognese and in a minute I will prepare the spagetti to go with. And a burger for my not-liking-home-made-pasta-sauce-son. Lol. My husband has been at work today but tomorrow he will work from home again.
Work from home
Got up early and went into work. Got a lot done and managed to set up a new computer for my colleague (who will work from the office) since I needed to bring my computer with me home (she and I share).
I have now set up my computer and switchboard in our living room (since my husband is working from our study) and everything seems to be working!
Left-overs for lunch today. Planning on making a pork filet with rise and creme fraîche sauce for dinner. A grey windy day so no walk today. And I have passed my 3hrs limit of work.. so I might shorten another day this week to honor my sick leave hours. It will be a challenge to stay to my limit with the office here at home..
Rain 🌧 and sun ☀️
This morning it was raining as I was going to work. In the city it was snowing. But, as I was going home – the sun was shining. So strange.
Completed this latest jigsaw puzzle – it was quite fun to put together. Next challenge will be one I borrowed from my parents, I think.
New recommendations from our government – everyone who can work from home shall work from home. I’ve talked it over with my boss and we decided I will come in tomorrow and work my shift but bring the computer with me home and work from home after tomorrow. I don’t know for how long. I really appreciate being able to do so – I’m not afraid of being at work, but commuting back and forward is not a great feeling.
Lazy Sunday
Yesterday was sunny and lovely – today grey and not so lovely. I’ve not done much all day. Just working on my puzzle and watched TV. Made lunch to the troops. Going to pick up some pizza for dinner, I think.
My parents stopped by to say hello – they stayed outside and we chatted for a few minutes. They were out for a walk despite the weather conditions. Good for them!
I wonder what next week will be like. I will work 3 hrs per day – from morning until lunch. Try to relax and get back on track.
Empty shelves
The effects of the corona virus.. empty shelves in the grocery store. So strange. People are hoarding. This shelf used to have different sorts of rise. Toilet paper, pizza, yeast gone. Some stores are out of bread. Alco-gel are no where to be found. Not in stores, pharmacies or hospital stores. Strange feeling.
The weather is absolutely gorgeous today. Spring feeling. Clear blue sky. A bit chilly. And in our paradise it has been snowing.
All of our activities the next couple of weeks have been cancelled or postponed. More or less. Now we are to enjoy walks, TV, jigsaw puzzles, the spa. Not going to events or get-togethers for a while.
Sun bun
Friday already. Took the day off to take my boy to his appointment. No need to expose him to people if we don’t have to.
Treated myself a coffee and a sun bun while waiting for him. It was quite strange to be at the hospital – hardly any people at all. And family wasn’t welcome in – no visitors – only patients welcome in. Probably good.
Now we are back home again resting. The corona virus is taking over the world. People are working from home, almost all events are cancelled or postponed, it is all over the news with the latest number of infected and deceased. I hope it will turn soon and that everyone can stop worrying and return to normal.
Full day
What a terrible night I had. Dreamt about this root canal filling .. not something I look forward to.
A full day at work – I managed to stay all day but the last couple of hours I was so tired and unfocused. Had a phone appointment with my doctor this afternoon and she extended my sick leave on 50% another 3 weeks which should give me a chance to get back to my usual self. If this is too much I shall let her know and she will adjust the sick leave again.
It was really strange commuting today – felt like everybody who is able to work from home did. Almost empty on the bus and subway. The corona virus is really scary and I hope we won’t get sick and if we do that we will manage to get well again.
