Another day in bright sunshine and clear blue sky. We’ve been busy bees today preparing for the Easter dinner. But also cleaned the patios on all three houses with the pressure-wash. Or – my brother-in-law has – to be precise.

We missed our youngest on this traditional dinner but instead we had invited my dad and uncle’s cousin who was home alone this Easter. It was really nice to see him and spend the evening together!

Happy Easter – everyone!

What a day. Good Friday. No wind. Sunshine. Clear blue sky. We’ve been outside most of the day – talking walks, sat on the beach, having coffee and Easter cake (a chocolate one). My mother has made her burgers with potatoes and onions. Yum. Now we are enjoying the rosé bubbly my sister gave me for my birthday. Life is good. And we have some days left to enjoy.

Can’t believe it’s already Thursday. Where did this week go? I need to turn back time a bit and start over. I want more time off! Today the vacation is over and the Easter weekend starts. We have been outside a lot enjoying the nice weather – gone for a 3k walk and also been to get some groceries.

Our families are on their way down here – struggling thru a lot of traffic with long lines here and there. My youngest isn’t coming along unfortunately – he needs to get some school stuff ready for next week and hasn’t quite finished yet so he decided to stay behind and get it done. We will miss him dearly but I hope he will be able to complete what they needed to finish. *proud of his decision*

A beautiful morning and after breakfast we drove into town for some errands. When we were done we had lunch at Sörens and then we went grocery shopping before it was time to head back to the cabin.

A busy afternoon with all sorts of things that needed my attention – both work and other matters. Now a quiet evening with a cup of tea infront of the tv. The sunset was amazing again – good for the soul. Tomorrow the rest of the family will join us. Yeah!

It was a bit grey and cloudy this morning but it soon cleared up and we have had another day of clear blue sky and sunshine.

We have decorated the garden with new Easter feathers (synthetic ones). Me and my mother went for a nice 2k walk in the afternoon. My sister has been a busy bee cleaning her house. Now she has treated us a nice dinner with rise and a super-yummy-sauce with filet of pork and vegetables. Life is good.

Lovely birthday in our paradise. With my sister and our parents. And my aunt (my uncle was away today).

A very sunny and gorgeous day. My sister surprised me with a pretty cardigan and some bubbly this morning. Then my parents treated us a very nice lunch in Kårehamn – I had fish soup. Yum!

Tonight we have enjoyed one of my favorite dishes – a “smörgåstårta” – along with champagne that I received for Xmas from work. In front of the TV watching our team playing soccer. And my husband  and mother in law called to congratulate me. I have also received loads of greetings from near and dear friends and family via social media.

Thank you all for making my day so special!

Slept really good last night. So quiet. So dark. No musts or have-to’s.

After breakfast we went up to get some groceries and plan what to eat the next couple of days. And after lunch we decided to drive down to Kalmar to see if we could order the sofa we have decided to buy. Unfortunately, IKEA had changed delivery company so they were not able to pick up the old sofa anymore. So, we didn’t order a new one .Bummer.

Tonight we have enjoyed my mothers very yummy “isterband med dillstuvad potatis” – smoked pork sausage with dill stewed potatoes. Mmm. And as a Sunday treat an extra nice bottle of red served with some crackers and cheeses of different sorts. Mmm.

Finally some time off and a chance to regain some energy. A special first half of the vacation with only my sister and parents down in our paradise. The rest will join us for Easter.

There was hardly any traffic driving down at all and the journey went without any problems. We stopped for lunch in Verkebäck and then a coffee in Kalmar. Picked up some dinner and breakfast in Borgholm so that we will manage until tomorrow when we will go and shop for more food.

Grilled sandwiches in the oven, tucked in my corner and the sun getting ready to treat us a lovely sunset. Life is good.

Finally Friday and time for some time off.

After work I met up with one of my best friends for a nice dinner which was followed by an alumni evening with our old friends from HP. She still works there – I left 17 years ago this fall.

150 old colleagues enjoying a few hours of chatting and catching up over a drink or two. Once or twice per year we have these get-togethers and they are always very well attended and appreciated. Fun!

This morning I had an appointment with my orthoptics – a special eye doctor. Good to check every once in a while that I have the correct eyeglasses. I had some minor changes from last time but nothing major. Great!

Very busy afternoon at work but making progress slowly but surely. With a bit of luck everything will be sorted by the time I leave work tomorrow so I can actually disconnect from work next week. I really need a break.
