Chestnut tree

Friday and almost an empty office. I had a technician coming in to fix a few things which was perfect since he didn’t bother anyone. I had received permission to leave when he was done – but it took all day so I didn’t get to go home early anyway. We got a lot done so it was ok, I guess.

After work I was invited to a lady I used to work for who has written a book that I was interested in buying. She invited me over for a coffee and catch up and it was lovely to see her again after all these years. Now I’m looking forward reading this management novel to see if it can inspire me some.

I walked thru Humlegården today and the chestnut trees were in bloom – both with white flowers but also these pink ones. So pretty.

Bauhaus-galan

Thursday and a day off due to Ascension day. I couldn’t sleep this morning so instead I got up and had breakfast while I watched some TV.

We’ve been taking it easy today doing this and that around the house. I baked some rolls for the graduation party, which was good to get out of the way.

In the evening I met up with my brother-in-law and we went into town to join my parents at Bauhaus galan at Stockholm Stadion. The event has a diamond league status so a lot of really good athletes were there. This gentleman – Mike Powell – added some extra star quality to the event by being there. *star-struck* The man who broke the impossible world record in long jump back in 1991.

Sweden has a new shining star in long-jump – Thobias Montler – who won tonight with 8.22 and managed to defeat Echevarría and Henderson to mention a few. This jump got him a ticket to the Olympics and also placed him as number two of best long jumpers in Sweden.

It was a really good event but quite cold and a bit rainy- I had brought extra everything so I was ok. Afterwards we got a lift home from a friend from Huddinge AIS – perfect. My family was back from their movie and already in bed when I got home. Time to hug my pillow too!

I almost managed to go home in time today. Bummer. The half-days at work very seldom stays half. It was a bit chaotic but it turned out good in the end and I could leave with a sense of job-well-done and that is always good.

Treated myself an extra nice coffee on the way home – a caramel latte. Mm. Love it. Doesn’t taste like coffee at all but perfect if you’re looking for a treat. Had half of my lunch while working and the rest when I got back home. Half days equals sandwiches and today we had ordered bagels with different fillings. Yum. Mine was goats cheese with cashew nuts and honey.

Now some corner time watching a movie with my husband – Oceans’ 8 – and then I think I’m going to make an early night to see if I can actually catch up on some sleep.

Exhausted

I am so tired tonight. Didn’t sleep so good last night (again) and it is starting to get to me. I need new energy somehow. I’m sure I will feel better in a couple of weeks when work is sorted (hopefully) and graduation reception is over.

I had to run some errands at work so I got a lot of steps today. Perfect. Now some time to relax in front of the tv before it’s time to hug my pillow and pray for a full night sleep.

Appointment 💇‍♀️

New week – new challenges. Had an appointment with my hairdresser after work – time to get back to normal again and become the blond I was supposed to be. She works miracle with my grey and dark and magically makes it disappear. Now I feel as good as new again.

Made chicken with rise for dinner – and now I’m going to cheer on our Bajen playing soccer while a I’m doing laundry and washing dishes. Go Bajen!

Mors dag ⚘

A busy Sunday. After breakfast we went to get some groceries and also picked up lunch. Then we went over to my sister to borrow some things for the graduation party – fingers crossed we will be able to have it outdoors! Today it’s been raining a lot off and on – let’s pray for sun that day!

We also went to vote in the election of the European parliament – a civil right and obligation. I think it is very hard to know what to vote for but I did my best. Afterwards we went over to a graffiti exhibition in Snösätra but it started to rain a lot so we didn’t stay very long. But it was fun to see it.

Mothers’ Day today and my boys surprised me with lottery tickets – no big wins yet but I won two new tickets so there’s still hope! Happy mothers’ day to all amazing mothers and I hope you all get some extra love and attention that you so well deserve today!

Shopping

A sunny but chilly day and great to have a weekend to enjoy! After lunch we went to the mall to shop for a few things – youngest son got a new pair of sneakers and a shirt for his graduation. Perfect. We also went to order a cake – one less thing to worry about.

Now I’ve watched Finland defeat Russia in the semi and made it to the finals – yeah! Both teams are so good and we don’t have to be embarrassed to have lost towards them. Congratulations to Finland for a tournament well played! I hope they win tomorrow. Who they will face is not decided yet – Canada vs. Czech is still to come.

Celebration

Friday and time to celebrate our oldest son. Since I worked late last night we had invited our family to come to dinner tonight instead. Hurried home after work and started to prepare dinner – the boys helped me (yeah!) and my husband took care of the barbecue. When the guests arrived we had a feast prepared.

M was celebrated and I think he had a great birthday dinner. For afters I had bought this cake but also made a sticky brownie cake which was still warm. Mm. Served with berries and whipped cream.

We lost the game last night – Finland went thru to the semi finals after a sudden death victory – so I have a hockey-free-weekend in regards to cheer on Sweden anyway. I have quarter finals. They can really end a good mood.

22

Twenty-two years ago today – on a Friday eve – he arrived. My oldest son. Just in time for Mothers’ Day! Today he is the same age as I was when I met his father. He is already doing his third year at the same school studying the same program as his father. Half way thru. He is a young man now.

M – I wish you the best in life. That you will be able to achieve your goals, find happiness, love and security. And always know I’m right here if you need me. I am so very proud of you and your brother!

Have a wonderful birthday!

Workshop

Midweek and a day away from the office. I went to a workshop for Office 365 at Microsofts’ head office in Husby. It was a bit nostalgic to be back in the area after all this time. I used to work out there before.

When the training was finished I went home for a late lunch and then to my appointment with the dental hygienist. Not my favorit doctor.. but now it’s done for now.

My husband is away with his work for the night so it’s just me and my boys at home. They are doing school work upstairs and I’ve crashed for a bit while a laundry is running. It’s been crazy warm today – almost 30C outside. Puh. It might rain tonight though.
