Relaxation

A whole week ahead of relaxation in the sun. The forecast has promised around 28-30C and sun all week. We will take one day at a time – do what we like – and just spend time together. Eat good food, regain energy and catch some D-vitamins in the sun. And these beautiful surroundings are good for the soul!

We had booked 5 double rooms and we were placed in the same building quite close to each other. Close to the pool areas, bar and restaurants. And this spectacular view.

Tennis was on the schedule today and all of us played except me and my sis. The others struggled thru an hour of hard work in the warm sun and had fun together.

Kallithea

Finally the day arrived – the alarm went off at 03.00 and we met up by the long-time parking at the airport around 4.15. Puh. We arrived safely in Rhodes shortly before lunchtime and after a 45 min bus ride we reached our final destination – Kallithea. The hotel was quite big and placed on the edge of a cliff facing the ocean. Beautiful. Let the fun begin!

Finishline

What a week. I have worked so hard all week. Crashed every night. But, we have accomplished a lot which is great. Today my previous law student came back from her semester abroad and it was great to see her again. We worked together for a couple of hours and then she took over and stayed the remaining hours.

Popped out to get a quick lunch and decided to have the Sesame Street from Yoi – a Vietnamese/Korean fast-food place. Chicken with rise in a delicious sauce.

Finished packing. Managed to stay below maximum weight. Yeah. Not really looking forward to getting up in the middle of the night though – but I am really looking forward to some quality time with my family.

Tuna sallad

What a day. It was a long time since I was this tired coming home. I only had a small lunch too – tuna sallad – which was really tasty but not very filling. My husband picked me up by the subway along with some take-away dinner since I arrived home so late and we didn’t have anything for him to prepare at home.

Now I’ve checked us all in and printed our boarding passes. My dad stopped by with some papers he wanted me to copy. But first some relax time in my corner. I’m beat.

Special lunch

A perfect day in the middle of the week – regardless of pouring rain. Short day at work and these three stars came and picked me up and we went to lunch. Lovely. I am so glad they want to spend time with me and we have such great chats when we meet. Too bad my youngest didn’t come along. After a nice lunch at TGI we took the subway to Fruängen and had a coffee before we went home. My youngest is at the movies with some friends and my hubby is out with his work tonight so it’s just M and me home.

Time to sort some packing and figure out what to bring. I tend to bring the wrong things. I never learn.

More celebrations

More birthdays in the family – today we celebrated my father-in-law and were invited over to their apartment for coffee and cake after work. They had come back to the city for a few days for various reasons.

We enjoyed a couple of hours together eating all sorts of goodies. Now we will crash in our beds after a very long day – not even half way thru the week yet. But we are beginning to see the light in the end of the tunnel! Soon we will have some time off!

Happy birthday, R! I hope you had a good day!

Happy birthday

Today it is my sisters birthday. Happy birthday! Love you to the moon and back. We had great fun together at the concert – let’s do something like that soon again! We have done so much fun together over the years – and hopefully we have plenty of adventures yet to come. Let’s start this weekend with our family trip! Anyway – wish you have had an amazing day – be safe and see you soon!

Tonight our ladies are playing the eights final towards Canada. Fingers crossed they will have what it takes! Go Sweden!

PS! We won 1-0! Quarter final towards Germany next.

Paradise close to home

One more day to enjoy – so peaceful and relaxing. My brother-in-law came out to help us take down the dead birch tree before it would fall down by itself. It went well and didn’t hit anything or anyone.

After lunch we spent some time down by the water to relax but we didn’t go in today since it was a bit windy and not as warm as yesterday. We stayed for dinner and then my father-in-law took us back to the harbor again where we had parked the car and motorcycle.

Thank you for a great weekend!

Midsommarafton

Midsummer with our friends. We met up in Gladö for a few hours of pentathlon – the group was divided into five groups and each family contributed with a game. We had a twist of dart as our game. Three contests later we made a break for lunch – pickled herring of all sorts with early potatoes and crisp bread served with a beer. Mmm.

After lunch we had the last two games and afterwards we ended the day at Gladö with coffee, fresh strawberries and vanilla ice cream.

This year it was our turn to host the evening so 18 of us came over for a bbq. We could sit outside all evening. Some played more dart and some enjoyed the spa. Thank you friends for a perfect day. With rain only as the guests were leaving at 2 AM.
