Finally Friday! After work I met up with my dear friend and we went to the Food & Wine fair here in Stockholm. I have visited this fair for years and it is usually very well attended – this year no exception – but I missed a lot of the exhibitors that I usually buy things from. We had a lovely time together and since the ticket included entrance in all the four different fairs that were held there at the same time, we also paid a visit to the Health-fair.
We had a lovely evening together and made some plans the coming weeks to get together again. Fun! Both a movie and an evening here in our spa. Lovely.
Waiting
I really don’t like arriving at the end-station in-between buses. Especially when I work really late and they only leave every 30th minute. But today I only worked late so I only had to wait 15 minutes for the next one. Lol. And it was not raining either – but the street was kind of wet.
Fairly good day though. And tomorrow it is Friday and I have a date with an old friend. She asked me if I wanted to go to the yearly Sthlm Food & Wine fair and of course I said yes. Looking forward to it!
Midweek
Short day at the office. Haven’t felt one hundred per cent today – a funny headache has been lurking in the back of my head all day. Some of my colleagues felt the same way yesterday so it might be a bug of some sort. They felt better today though so I am hoping I feel fine tomorrow.
Have finished a couple of projects at home this afternoon so now I can afford to crash in my corner for a bit before it is time to start dinner. It was really cold outside today too, but no snow yet. Picked up some groceries on my way home – I love the ICA-store in Liljeholmen. They have everything! And it is on the way going home!
Below
This morning it was -4C outside and everything was covered with snow crystals and it looked very pretty. Had to stop and take a photo.
In town there was chaos – a big fire started this morning in a building very close to our office and the subway station I get off at was closed due to this. 60 firemen have been working all day long to try to minimize the damages. The building itself is beyond saving but fortunately no-one was killed. Pretty scary.
Back in four ways
Back to work. It was so nice to have a mini-vacation and just relax and spend time with my boys.
Also – Xmas i back in town. The decorations are not lit up yet but Stockholm is getting ready one street at a time.
My back got some attention today too – haven’t seen my naprapath in a long time so it was not a day too soon. My knees have started to make a squeaky sound when I bend them and he had a few suggestions and gave me some exercises to do.
My sons luggage came back to him today. Yeah! He hasn’t put his computer together yet so we don’t know if it survived the trip or not. Fingers crossed!
Time to fly
A week goes by so very quickly sometimes. I bet the next week will feel a lot longer than this one did. Our youngest went back to his school abroad today and arrived safely. His luggage didn’t though and I pray to God it will find it’s way to his school within a day or two. Fortunately, he had his key to his room and medicine with him on board but he had his computer in the suitcase.. Oh well – fingers crossed it will be ok.
Now we will have to wait six weeks before it is time to pick him up again. Then it is my turn to drive out to the airport since my husband has a company Xmas-event that evening.
One more day
One more day together before our youngest goes back to his school abroad. It’s been a good week and we have accomplished everything we wanted to. I am so glad I was able to take a few days off from work to spend some time with my boys. Tonight we went to O’Learys for dinner. We were hoping to play a game of bowling but we hadn’t pre-booked so there was over an hour to wait for our turn so we skipped it. The food was great and we had a lovely time just chatting and spending time together. When we got back home we sat in the spa for a bit – all four of us. No rain tonight so it was quite nice outside with the full moon and all. Life is not so bad!
Dinner treat
The week has gone by so quickly and it is already Friday. Me and my youngest ran some errands this morning, my oldest had school and my husband also had errands. Then we all met up for a taco-lunch at home together. Yeah!
We were invited to my parents-in-law for dinner and it was really nice. My mother-in-law had prepared a three-course-dinner with duck as the main course. Something I eat way too seldom and everyone in the family loves it so I should give it a try and cook it myself.
Thank you for a lovely evening!
Rainy Thursday
A rainy dark day. But so nice to have the day off with no musts or have-to’s. I read a word of wisdom this morning – someone said “if you don’t move slowly from time to time you will not know when you are moving quickly, if you don’t feel distressed sometimes you will not know what it feels like to be determined and if you’re never scared then you can’t be brave.” Some things to think about.
My youngest saw a friend today and they went to the movies. So I went grocery shopping, did some laundry and just took it easy for a while. Going to start dinner in a bit and have a nice family meal together. Life is not so bad.
Day off
Finally a day off! I haven’t had a day off since August and to be honest I am exhausted. A lot of overtime on top of the regular work and the re-construction of the office and with people leaving work too has taken it’s toll on me.
So a day with my youngest – first with a useless visit to our rubbish bank, then some shopping (ended without us buying anything) but finally a lovely lunch with a nice chat and then we also brought these goodies back for the afternoon coffee. So a good day after all. Took a quick walk over to my parents to take care of what they forgot before they left. Now some lazy time at home enjoying the day off.
