The elks..

What a day. Everything went according to plan – or – at least I was able to wing it and got all the ducks in a row in the end. Didn’t loose any of them. Yeah!

Strolled thru the city going to the subway and passed the elks on Sergels torg. They look really pretty!

After a left-over-dinner we soaked in our spa for a bit. So nice. Perfect after a 15600-step-day. I am so happy we have that to enjoy. A very busy day tomorrow – I hope I will be able to get a good night sleep.

More tea

What a day. I needed a moment to think and sat down with a cup of tea and a sandwich on my way to the dental hygienist. The appointment went well – nothing was wrong so that was good.

Two very hectic days ahead so I need to stay focused on what needs doing. Need to surround myself with people that give me a positive feeling and good energy and not let anything or anyone cloud my senses.

New tea

A long rainy dark day.. But it went by pretty fast and after a late dinner and then some time in our spa I have now curled up in my corner with a cup of rooibos tea flavored with blueberries, lingonberries and cornflower along with some left overs from the birthday party. Going to watch an episode of “Jordskott” that we taped the other day. And then I think I will have an early night.

Xmas decorations

This weekend our capital officially turned on the Xmas lights that decorate the streets around the city. So the street where I work was looking great this morning as I arrived early in town. I love how they decorate the bridges every year – so pretty!

My lunch date wasn’t able to make it so I hurried home instead to see to my oldest who spent the morning at the dentist with a sore wisdom tooth. He got some medication and needs to go back after the infection has calmed down. Hopefully he will feel better really soon. Tooth ache is the worst.

Church and birthday

Sunday already. And quite a busy one. Got up this morning and baked this birthday cake for my husband. It is a sponge-cake with gingerbread flavor, filled with sugared lingon-berries (sort of preserved raw without cooking) and quark (kind of like philadelphia cheese). It was delicious and fun to try something new.

But, before it was time for our guests to arrive and to try the cake we spent the afternoon in church for the yearly Christmas bazar that my mother is working with. It is such a nice tradition and something I don’t want to miss. And I won in the lottery – a beautiful table cloth that my mother has cross stitched. Perfect! Best win in years! I hope they managed to raise a lot of money to give to charity.

This evening our family came over to celebrate my husband. I gave him a start to Stockholm Challenge – 4 x 10k runs in Stockholm next summer with different kinds of challenges to face. One in May, June, August and the last one in October. Something to look forward to!

Preparations

What a great Saturday. No musts or have-to’s .. except a long list of things I want to get done around the house. Enjoyed a nice breakfast infront of the tv. Then I got a wheat dough going and while it was proving I changed some curtains and did some laundry. Then I made this batch of filled and regular rolls – no cinnamon or cardamum – so we have some newly baked for tomorrow when it is my husbands birthday. He is away for the weekend to Berlin with his work.

Picked up some McD-lunch and also went to throw away paper and plastics that are piling up here in the house. Did some more laundry and vacuumed the house. And then I rewarded myself with some time in the spa. So nice! I am so glad we decided to buy it.

All inclusive

Friday again and another week to tick off. Xmas is coming closer.. But all the snow is gone for now but something tells me it will be back before we know it.

Tonight I have had a great time having dinner with a dear friend – my oldest son came along too since I didn’t have any food at home for him to eat. Haha. After dinner he took the bus back home to his internet games and friends while my friend and I went to see “All inclusive” – a relatively new Swedish movie about a mother and her two daughters and their holiday together in Croatia. It was just the perfect way to spend a Friday evening after a long week at work.  And the movie was just perfect for us – with both laughter, joy, some tears and a lot of heart!

Rain and 8C

Two days ago this square was covered with white fluffy snow. But after a warm rainy night the view was quite different coming up from the subway. I must say I prefer the white fluffy view. And the streets get so wet – I hate that part.

Today went by pretty quick even though it was a long day. Got home and made a wok for dinner of the left-over meat from the other day. Fingers crossed it will not rain or snow this evening so we can enjoy the spa for a bit. Last night it was terrible weather and since we don’t have a roof over the spa it is not really an option when it is raining cats and dogs..

Birthday

Today it is my mother’s birthday and she treated us a really nice dinner and this amazing cake for afters. Yum. Our oldest was the only grandkid who were able to come – all the youngsters were otherwise engaged. So besides M it was only me and my sis and our hubbies and a close friend to the family over there tonight, which was rather nice. We gave mom tickets for “Book of Mormon” and the six of us (no grandkids) will go and see the show together in a couple of weeks. Fun!

After all the snow it has started to rain so it is really nasty weather outside. Extremely slippery with icy roads and all the rain doesn’t help. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow.

Thank you mom for being you – we love you and appreciate you so much! See you soon again and hope you had a great birthday!

Snow and movie

A very snowy start of the day with delayed buses and chaos. Fortunately a dear friend of mine saw me at the bus stop and gave me a ride to the subway. Yeah! A friend in need – is a friend in deed!

After work I met up with my sister for a sneak pre-view of “Murder on the Orient Express”. It was a good movie with excellent actors and beautiful environment and views. But no Ingrid Bergman this time.. And so nice to spend an evening with my sister! She had the car with her in to town so we could enjoy a nice ride home and plenty of chat-time!
