A very nice Sunday spent in our second paradise. Picked up my brother-in-law on the way this morning and went out to the island for the day. They managed to cut down 6 trees so a lot of hard work but also a lovely day with nice weather and not cold at all. My mother-in-law spoiled us with coffee breaks and lunch and we had a very nice chat too. Got home in time for dinner (which we picked up on the way) and now we are waiting for a phone call from our youngest who said he would call us tonight. Can’t believe he has been gone for two weeks already.
Drop-in wedding
We were invited to a wedding a few days ago – my dear friend was going to get married in Häverö Kyrka in Roslagen at a drop-in wedding (thereof the extremely short notice). Said and done. We got up early and drove the 2 hours up to the church. It was raining a bit during the way but it cleared up by the time we got there. The wedding was so special and I am so glad we could be part of their special day. Afterwards we were invited to lunch at Rånäs Castle and we didn’t get back home until 7.30 PM. A long day but so nice! I wish them all the best and many happy years to come!
Going out
We had to postpone our summer event at work until a fall event instead and today was the day for it. We gathered together for a quick drink at the office before it was time to participate in a challenge – panic rooms at Fox in a Box. It was great fun even though none of the groups managed to escape from their rooms. Lol. My group tried to get out of “Mr Fox’s Secret Study”. We almost made it..
After the game we went to Restaurant Tak for a nice dinner with a Japanese influence. The food was delicious and we had a lovely evening.
Tired
I am completely exhausted. Don’t know why really. Been standing for hours today and I guess that can be part of the reason. Need to get some energy back somehow. Pizza for dinner didn’t help – lol.
Started a new knitting project – excellent therapy for me. I like this pattern since I can knit while watching tv and don’t really need to look at the written pattern that often. Going to make another pillow case.
Cosy afternoon
What a lovely afternoon I’ve had. First a late lunch with my friend whom I haven’t seen in a long time. Then I met up with my niece who helped me find a pair of boots that I wanted to buy for the wedding this weekend. Yeah. Outfit ready. So I treated her a coffee and a “sockerkringla”. I really enjoy spending time with her – we always have so much to talk about when we meet. 11000 steps later I was back home again. Now a quiet evening watching something on tv and taking it easy.
You’ll be in my ❤
“Cause you’ll be in my heart
Yes, you’ll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more”
// Phil CollinsThe best way to start the day (besides having a great breakfast) is listening to a good song with great lyrics. This morning Phil Collins accompanied me to work and his theme song from “Tarzan” is amazing. And this afternoon my ❤ called me! Haven’t talked to him in more than a week so it was really good to hear his voice again. He had come down with a cold and felt a bit under the weather but he liked the school and was doing ok. Tomorrow he is leaving on a school trip to the Netherlands.
Rain rain ?
Today our king announced the name of the new prince who were born last week. He will be called Gabriel Carl Walther, duke of Dalarna.
Had the afternoon off and my appointment got cancelled too so I really had some time on my hands. Lovely. It’s been raining all day long – I even wore my rain clothes and rubber boots to work today. Hopefully it will stop soon so I can enjoy a bath tonight. Didn’t have one yesterday.
Made a carbonara for dinner tonight. Haven’t had that in a long time. Had some left overs from the cheese pies to use.
Finnkampen – day 2
The second day of competitions – not as nice weather as it was yesterday so we had brought some extra warm clothes to wear. And they came in handy. Great results though – a few championship records even! And we won both the senior competitions so historically both countries have 69 victories each. Yeah!
The mascots were trying to entertain us as usual and they really made an effort, I’d give them that!

Finnkampen – day 1
Every other year this international track & field event takes place in Sweden and every other year in Finland. The competition between our two countries has been on-going for every year since 1951 but the first event took place already 1925. And it is a lot of fun! 3 competitors from each country – the winner gets 7 points down, nr 2 gets 5 to the last one who gets one 1 point in each event.

Crayfish
We haven’t had or been to a cray fish party in years so we decided to have one. Said and done – with some preparations and a lot of friends that helped us making the evening great. And the weather was great too – no wind, no rain and with a couple of infra-red heaters we were able to sit outside until midnight. Yeah. I hope the neighbors didn’t mind us sitting outside singing & talking that late. Thank you all for making the evening so special!
