Met an old friend for lunch today and we went to John Scotts to eat. A restaurant quite close to where I work but I have never been there before. The food was quite good so I will definitely go there again! New choices are always nice.
This afternoon my mother came over to pick up the pillow case I have knitted for her church bazar. We also enjoyed our spa for a bit – lovely! It is getting quite chilly now – this morning it was only 1 or 2 degrees outside. Soon winter is here!
Long day
A long day at work but I got a lot done. Almost thru my big pile of invoices – just a couple left that I saved for tomorrow when I have some new energy and focus.
Chatted with my youngest tonight and sent him some money so he could buy the class photo and individual shots they had taken. He seems to be doing alright – they have a lot of homework as it sounds. He has his first exam on Thursday. Fingers crossed.
My oldest had a challenge in school today which he managed to pass – yeah! He has a very very busy year ahead and I hope he will be able to focus and take one step at a time. And get thru enough to pass!
Thinking back on our trip to New York last year. It was such a great trip and I would love to sit in that window again looking down on 6th avenue on Manhattan. Maybe one of these years.
Pyssel hos S – 18 sep 2017
Church election
Sunday and church election day. It is not only your right to vote – it is your obligation! If you are still part of the church that is. The participation percentage is ridiculously low in the church election. I think it is hard to follow the church politicians and make up your mind since they are not as visible as the government politicians. But, it was easy to look it up and form an opinion on line and I think you should vote if you can.
I feel a bit better today – no aspirin for breakfast anyway. But, still feel tired and my body aches a bit. No fever though. And hardly any sneezing or cough either. We went grocery shopping after lunch and going to make a nice dinner tonight. Postponed my naprapath treatment tomorrow another week – this time it was my turn to be sick. He has postponed my treatment twice due to him being sick. Typical. Hopefully we both will feel ok next week instead.
Day to recover
Typical. A gorgeous weekend day off with clear blue sky, sunshine and not too chilly. And I’m in my corner, under a blanket, drinking hot tea and water and trying to recover from my cold. No fever but my body aches and I am starting to cough a bit. Just need to relax and focus on getting better. My poor husband is working hard outside and I am not helping today. Our oldest is away playing boardgames with his friends. But I have chatted a bit with our youngest who said he was going to study this weekend. Wow. I’m amazed. And so proud. He is growing up so fast.
Hösttårta ..
The famous bakers Roy Fares and Mattias Ljungberg just opened a new bakery in town together called Mr. Cake. We had three colleagues celebrating birthdays this week so we decided to give this new bakery a try. And wow – what a cake. It was called “fall cake” and had flavors of apple, cinnamon, nuts and toffee. I loved it. Very expensive and extremely rich – but so tasty.
Going to try to relax and recover this weekend and get rid of this cold that I have. Don’t have time to be sick right now.
Rainy windy day
I think I might be coming down with a cold or something. Had to get up in the middle of the night and take an aspirin and another one this morning before I went to work. I have sneezed countless times today and I will be going to bed early tonight to rest as much as I can. Don’t have time to be sick right now.
This scary lion is guarding the bridge over Kungsgatan on Regeringsgatan. Stockholm has so many of these old decorations – you just need to look around and you’ll notice them all over.
Lunch date
A perfect mid-week day with lunch together with my niece at a thai-restaurant close to where I work. She had yakiniku and I had my favorite – sushi with salmon, avocado and makizushi.
After lunch we strolled through the city and took the commuter train together to the station where she had left her bicycle. A lovely couple of hours. When I got back home I cleaned the house and ran some laundry. Made burgers for dinner. Now some corner time.
Meeting
A day filled with meetings. And invoices. And things to remember. And things to fix. And to make life easier for others. To be on top of things and preferably even ahead of things. I was really tired when I finally got back to Fruängen just to find out that the bus just had left and the next one wasn’t due in another 30 min. So. A 2k walk later I was home. Enjoying pasta from another day – but it was perfect. Crashed in my corner listening to the eliminations in Swedish Idol. I’m glad I don’t have that kind of challenge to face.
Week 37
New week to look forward to. Week number 37 out of 52. It is getting so dark in the evenings now – fall has really arrived. The leaves are turning colors and the apples are ready to be picked. I have picked some and put in the freezer for later. Perfect for a pie or something. Made a beef stew with root veggies for dinner – fall-food. And plenty left to enjoy another day too which is nice.
A busy week ahead but one day at a time and it will work out fine. No plans for next weekend – which is nice since we have been so very busy the last couple of weekends. We need to get started on our garden project – fun but time-consuming.
