Last week

Finally it has come – the last week of summer vacation for my boys. Then fall term starts with new challenges of various character for both of them.

I knitted a pillow earlier this year and it turned out quite alright. So now I am making a second one and if it turns out ok too I will donate it to the church fair and hopefully it will bring in some money for charity. This time I have chosen a pink and grey color on the yarn instead of the blue and light grey as I did last time. Pure therapy – and the pattern is so easy I have learned the knitting pattern by heart which allows me to watch tv while knitting.

Sunday treat

Today we had waffles for lunch with home made strawberry jam and whipped cream. We deserved a treat!

My parents came over for dinner and we helped them with their new GPS that they bought. So many things to program and figure out nowadays. After dinner I made an apple crumble served warm with vanilla custard. Lovely! Made from our own apples that I picked from one of our trees. Pure luxury! And to end a perfect evening and make it even more perfect we all enjoyed some time in our SPA. I am so glad we can share it with near and dear – makes it much more usable and fun to invite people over. Time to hug my pillow and get ready for next week which is filled with things (both pleasant and less pleasant) before it is time to send F off to his new school abroad.

Midnattsloppet

Time for the yearly run – Midnattsloppet! I’m not participating this year though – but my husband is, for the 17th or 18th time. My brother-in-law and my oldest niece are running too – I wish all of them the best of luck! We will follow their race from website which shows where they are. Amazing.

Today we have been doing some shopping for F and his upcoming trip. He needed some stuff – mostly gym wear and new shoes. We found everything we were looking for so that was good. This afternoon I have baked some breakfast rolls and we enjoyed some for dinner too. An everyday-luxury you can easily afford. You just need to gather the energy and motivation to actually bake them.

PS! Peter managed to complete the race in 48:07. Yeah! And my niece improved her time from when she and I ran 2 years ago with 20 min! Great job!

Fredagsmys

Friday eve and my sister and her family came over for some “fredagsmys”. Take-home-pizza and thai-food, board games, chatting and spending time together. They had brought a little going-away gift for F which was really sweet. And I got a special gift too – which I loved!

And then when it got dark – six of us (not A or J) enjoyed our SPA for a bit. Yes, M went in too! After the bath we spent a couple of hours playing UNO Spinn – and way past midnight we called it a night. It was such a lovely evening!

Almost weekend

Thursday already. I dreaded this week a bit – going back to work after a long vacation is always a challenge – but so far it has been a good week. And I have been able to record a lot of steps too.

Tonight we have had a visit from my parents-in-law. My mother-in-law and I tried our spa for a bit and I think she enjoyed it. We were only in for a short while so I might go in again a bit later tonight when it is really dark outside and a bit chilly. That’s when it is perfect!

Grey day

The day started out fairly sunny but after a few hours it started to rain and the afternoon has been pretty grey and a bit chilly. Walking home last night after the show was really pretty – the view of Stockholm by night with the sun going down is quite spectacular. This photo was taken on the walk down the hill from Solliden overlooking Gröna Lund (the amusement park). So pretty.

Quite a busy day today (even though it was short) with a lot accomplished. Picked up a few things on my way home and managed to sit down for a minute or two before it was time to get dinner started. Tonight I will soak for a bit in our SPA and enjoy spending an evening at home for a change since I have been out late two nights in a row.

Allsång ..

I have followed “Allsång på Skansen” on TV my whole life but I have never before gone to Skansen when the program is recorded live. Tonight it was the last show for the summer and Sanna Nielsen did a great job – as usual. She announced that she has accepted to host the show next summer too and the audience were thrilled!

I met up with my sister and her girls for dinner at Solliden and then we enjoyed the show in a very sunny Stockholm. Lovely. Jill Johnson, Danny Saucedo, Helen Sjöholm and Malena Ernman were the artists for the evening along with the singers from Mamma Mia – The Party. Even the old team “Roy & Roger” from Galenskaparna were there and performed their big hit from 1986. Lol. We had a great evening together, just us girls. I really love spending time with them and I am so happy they let me come along.

After being out two evenings in a row, I think I will have a date with our SPA tomorrow night..

One two three..

Time to get back to work and leave the vacation mood for this time. We have had a good summer – everyone has been feeling well, we have spent a lot of time together and I guess we are ready to face the fall. My boys don’t start school yet, but I had to start work today. It was a pretty good day and I’m sure I’ll get in to the work-mood again in no time. Took a long walk after work and went over to my parents to tend to their house one last time before they arrive back home.

Tonight we went a little crazy and went to a late movie – Spider-Man – Homecoming. It was our family along with my nieces. The movie was pretty good and we had a good time!

Rain rain rain …

A very rainy Sunday with only some sun here and there. We went shopping for a cleaning-equipment for the SPA and looked at a pavilion they had on sale to put over our SPA. However, we didn’t like it once we saw it and decided to try to find a regular sunshade instead (a manual – not automatic).

This afternoon my nieces have been here trying out the SPA and I think they approved! Then it started to rain and there was thunder & lightning and that sunshade seemed like a better idea than ever! Lol.

And those two birds in the picture feels more up-to-date than I would like..

Premiere

Finally time for our premiere in the SPA! We have planned, longed, worked hard, prepared and now the day has come for us to enjoy our dream that finally came true. And we all loved it. I am sure we will spend a lot of time in our new bath – and hopefully it will run smoothly without any problems and with only a little maintenance.

An otherwise busy morning with grocery shopping, trip to the waste disposal site (yes – same chores as during vacation) and an errand. It is a grey and a bit rainy day today so we can enjoy time watching the final days of the world championships in track&field. And wait for the evening so we can hop in our SPA again.. with the lights turned on this time (they don’t really show during daylight)!
