After a day filled with invoicing I went to pick up my oldest. Tons of stuff to organize since he turned 18. We got two more things ticked off on our to-do-list. Great!
Our rhododendron are in full bloom right now. Both the purple and the pink ones. They really brighten up the front of the house!
It’s been a lovely day – it was a bit grey and cloudy for a while – but the sunshine came back and it is nice outside.
Have a great evening everyone!
Walking
I did good today! Walked both ways to and from the subway. And worked a long day with lots of steps all day. I miss my bracelet which kept track of my days – it broke and I haven’t gotten a new one yet.
On my way home the lake was filled with life – tons of bird couples with they newborns. So cute! The lake was stunning as usual. Good for the soul!
Now some corner time to enjoy the Polar Prize award.
Sandbox transformation
When our kids were small they loved to play in the sandbox in the back yard. When they grew out of it we transformed it to a flower box.
Slowly but surely I have introduced herbaceous perennial plants and it is coming together quite nicely, if you ask me.
An easy way to turn an unused toy into something pretty! I have collected some favorites – a few every year – and try to go slow to see how they turn out.
Sunday
The best thing about going out on a Friday is that it kind of gives
the weekend a feeling of being a day extra long. Even though it can be quite exhausting to go out on a Friday eve after a full day at work at the end of the week, it is totally worth it.Unfortunately my husband was ordered to work extra this weekend so he had to get up really early and get to work. So it’s only me and the boys at home this Sunday morning. Perfect time to bake some goodies – one baking sheet with chocolate chip-filled ones and one baking sheet with almond icing filled cinnamon rolls.
Later on in the afternoon we are going over to my parents-in-law for dinner. Lovely!
National day
Not the best weather today (this is an old picture) but the flag is up and our national day will be celebrated.
Stockholm city started a new tradition in 1991 when all new Swedish citizens who live in Stockholm and became citizens the year before will be personally invited to a citizenship ceremony in the city hall. Approximately 1200 people attend every year and our new citizens each receive a personal memory leaflet from the ceremony.
Enjoying my morning in my corner trying to get my head together again (lol) after a very late night.. But, we had a great time with lots of laughter and chatting, good food and wine and great weather. We could sit outside the whole time which was amazing since it has been so cold all spring. But yesterday it felt like summer!
Summer party
Another week to an end and this one with a special event in the end – after work we had a dinner party with my colleagues. We were able to sit outside and enjoy a three course dinner we had cooked together.
For entrees we had “löjromstoast” with Kalix roe. It is the best roe money can buy and world famous. So very good – served with some creme fraiche and shopped red onions. One should indulge oneself this treat more often.
A great ending of a long week.
Beautiful day
Finally some warm weather and sunshine! And my peonies just started to bloom. They are amazing in their deep red/purple color. They are more purple than this pic shows.
A very busy day and I’m glad to put my feet up for a minute. Enjoy our beautiful garden which is really showing off it’s best effort right now with all the flowers. A latte and a good chat. Life is not so bad.
Lilacs
It was raining cats and dogs last night and I didn’t expect today to be that great. But it cleared up and when going home the sun was shining and it was lovely outside.
Our lilacs are in full bloom and they smell gorgeous. These flowers really remind me of when I was little and graduation was coming up. When the lilacs started to bloom I knew there were not many days left before we would start summer break.
Left-overs
With a fridge full of left-overs it was plenty to choose from for dinner. I picked chili con carne with rise. Mm.
Chatted with my BFF in the Netherlands after work and my little surprise had arrived! I’m glad. I made us each a little something to remember our great long weekend – a photo book. I love them – try to make one for each special vacation and summer holiday. Great way to keep and share memories.
Strawberries
New week – and a very very rainy morning.. BUT, it cleared up and after work it was lovely. Very windy but nice and sunny. The casual trading area in Fruängen had amazing strawberries and I couldn’t resist. I thought I’d treat my boys some vitamin packed goodies to give them a great start of the week. The I took a walk instead of taking the bus home – extra points for me!
Have a great week everyone!
