July 4th

imageWhat an amazing day. We have been in our second paradise all day enjoying ourselves. After a lovely coffee by the sea we put the pier ladder in (we take it out at the end of the season otherwise it will get ruined when the water freezes) and went swimming. It was so very nice!

After a great day with great food and company we are now back home again tucked in our cornIMG_20130703_074148ers enjoying “Fawlty Towers”. British humor at its best.

I wish all my friends and family in the States a great 4th of July! Can’t believe it’s been 2 years since our visit!

Summer in town

Another hot day with sunshine, clear blue sky and no wind. Puh. But, this is what we have longed for, right?!

imageOne by one of my friends and co-workers start their summer vacation – at least we have a great weekend to look forward to. One more week of work – then it is our turn.

The elder tree is absolutely amazing this year. We dressed the tree a lot a couple of years ago which resulted in no flowers at all last year, but this year it is in full bloom. I have picked a few bags of flowers and put in the freezer so I can made more lemonade when the first batch is gone.

Have a great Friday eve everyone!

Heatwave

What a change.. all of a sudden the summer arrived with full strength and forced Stockholm down on its knees. 90-95F (30-35C)  are not temperatures we are used to in the city. Puh.

wpid-img_20140731_124320.jpgI would give a lot to beam myself (and the guys of course)  down to our paradise, take an evening dip in the ocean, enjoy one of these fabulous ice creams and then enjoy a glas of rosé watching the sun set. Soon.

Let’s hope the great weather will last a while longer!

Celebrating our golden boys

imageWalking back from the subway an airplane flew over my head accompanied by two military aircrafts – must be extremely important cargo to get all that attention. When I came home and turned on the TV I found out that it was our U21 team who was the center of attention.

Kungsträdgården was completely filled with cheering fans welcoming our golden boys back home and honoring them in a fantastic way. We have an amazing selection of great players to chose from the next couple of years. They did us proud!

Going to the movies in a bit – to enjoy Stuart, Kevin & Bob in the new Minions movie. A fun family evening – again!

Soccer – U21 final

Tonight it is the fU21-EMinals in the European Championship Under21 soccer. And Sweden is one of the two finalists. Amazing. Facing Portugal. A real tough competitor.

Awpid-img_20150524_131432.jpg lot of people will be watching our yellow-and-blue boys tonight – cheering them on! Since our ladies didn’t go as far as we would have hoped for in the World Championship in soccer, this is a real treat to watch. But, I will be cheering on the American ladies who are facing Germany tonight in the semi finals. Tomorrow it is the other semi final – England vs. Japan.

imageLet’s hope we will be singing “Du gamla du fria” in a couple of hours!

PS! WE WON!
An amazing game that after 2×15 min extra time and shots we won 4-3 against Portugal. Well deserved golden medal!

Me-time

A perfect day. Finally some me-time! Feel like a new woman after an hour of back- and neck treatment. Wish I could enjoy this every week. That would be just perfect!

imageThe weather looked pretty good this morning but it got cooler and clouded up after lunch. It might start to rain any minute. Can’t believe this weird summer.

Now a quiet evening with no obligations ahead. Lovely!

The rebel yell..

A long lazy sunny Sunday – amazingly luxurious. Been outside most of the day – working in the garden, decorating the flower bed with some red turf. Had lunch outside in the shade – it is actually pretty warm imageand the sun is burning. What happened?

Had to escape indoor for a bit too – with laundry, baking, cooking.

In a minute we are going to pick up my brother-in-law and then the  five of us are going to Gröna Lund for dinner and to enjoy Billy Idol on stage. It’s going to be interesting to see if he’s still got it. And let’s hope and pray that he will sing some of his old hits. That would make my day!

imagePS! The amusement park was crowded with 17.000 screaming fans and he gave us 2 hrs worth of hits mixed with songs from his new album and some old forgotten ones. It was a great evening – sunny and warm – and we are now back home, exhausted from standing up all night.

Elder tree and soccer

Today our elder tree flowers started to bloom which means I image
had to get busy.. I make a lemonade out of the flowers
and I need to pick them when they just started to bloom to get the maximum flavor out of them.

40 flowers in a big pot, add three finely sliced lemons and some citric acid. Boil 2 liters of water and add 2 kg of castor sugar. Pour it over the flowers and keep in the fridge for 3-5 days. Then add some sodium benzoate. Done. And it’s delicious!

imageImportant soccer game tonight for our boys – semi finals in the European Championships facing Denmark. Going all the way to the semi finals gave us a ticket to the Olympics next summer – fun!

Fingers crossed we will win!

PS! WE WON! Beat Denmark 4-1. Finale – here we come!

Friday battle

Friday! And some sunshine in-between the rainshowers.. Maybe there is hope for the weekend! image

Another afternoon at the hospital – this time at the  department with the soccer game instead of the Fia game. No need to mention who won. Let’s just say it wasn’t me. Lol.

There are terribly black clouds in the sky right now – let’s hope they go away so we can bbq the sirloin steaks I bought for dinner. Weekend – here we come!

Dinner out

After a very hectic day with some re-arrangements (my  youngest appointment postponed until tomorrow) we gathered together to celebrate my father-in-laws birthday at a local restimageaurant. It was a very nice evening with good food and company.

Afterwards we decided to go to my husbands aunt for coffee and to round up the evening.

Thank you for a great evening! Oh – and tomorrow it is Friday already! Soon time for weekend!
