Going back

This morning it was time for my hubby, youngest son and two nieces to head back to the real world again. It took them most of the day due to heavy traffic but they arrived safely tonight.

We were out of bread so I decided to make a batch of bread buns. They turned out pretty good. Tomorrow we need to go grocery shopping again. Time to fill up the fridge with something other than Easter food.

This afternoon we took a very long walk and were gone for almost 90min. So sunny and hardly any wind at all. Lovely. I hope more days like this one before we have to drive back home again.

Easter day

Today was a lovely sunny day and we went for an hour long walk together. So nice.

In the afternoon we had coffee outside together with my aunt, uncle, cousin and his kids. They had baked a sponge cake and it was really delicious! My uncle could sit outside with us which was great!

After the soccer game (facing last years champions – we lost 3-1) we went into town for our traditional Easter day dinner at a place in Borgholm called Sörens. A very nice ending of a lovely Easter weekend. Back home again we enjoyed some cheese & crackers while watching a movie before it was time to hug our pillows.

Easter eve

A sunny but windy Saturday and Easter eve. We started the day like we did yesterday with a short walk before breakfast. Lovely.

We’ve been outside a lot today and took a second stroll in the afternoon around the area. Nice to get some fresh air and move a bit.

Tonight we have enjoyed a traditional Easter eve dinner with a “smörgåsbord”. So now we are full and tired after a big dinner. Some of us went for another walk to move a bit after all that food. Some of us preferred to not move more than necessary.. lol.

Family dinner

Woke up around 8 this morning and we decided to take a 1.5 k walk around the block before breakfast. Perfect start!

After breakfast me, mom and my sis went into town to do the Easter grocery shopping – puh. I think we managed to get most of the things we needed and decided to make an extra special Good Friday dinner tonight. It turned out great! My sis made her delicious gratin and I made the sirloin steak. Served with a good red wine, veggies and bearnaise.

No sunset to enjoy tonight – we did get an amazing one yesterday though. Now we’ve watched “Masked Singer” before it is time to go to bed.

Oh – happy 101 birthday, aunt G! Sorry we couldn’t be there to celebrate – hubby is still not well enough but hopefully he’ll feel better soon. Hope you had a great day!

Breathing again

This morning we started the long drive down to our paradise. My parents, sis and youngest niece came along too and we took our time and plenty of breaks and had no rush. 7,5 hrs later we arrived without any problems and now we have enjoyed a first dinner followed by a first sunset. Live is good.

Now we’re trying to warm up our house so we will not be too cold tonight. One of the heaters had switched off for some reason so that was the reason the temperature has been very low all winter in our house. Everything has an explanation. No harm done. Extra blankets tonight and we’ll be fine.

Tonight my brother-in-law and oldest niece will join us – no nice to gather the whole family for Easter break. Time to breathe and relax!

No spring in sight yet

More snow and then some. Oh well. No spring in sight yet. But some of the crocuses are in bloom in our garden – like a small hello. Lovely.

Went back to the doctors today for a check up and she was very pleased with the progress. I will complete the penicillin cure so three more days to go. Follow up call next week. Love it that she is thorough and takes her job seriously. I hope she stays at the clinic – they have not the best track record in being able to keep good doctors.

Soon..

Longing for our paradise.. Short day today since I swop with yesterdays afternoon due to the handball game after work.

Made a chili for dinner tonight – perfect when I get home early since it takes like 3-4 hrs to make. Turned out pretty good – we have it with nachos and regular taco-trimmings.

Quarter final #1

Today our team played their first game in the quarter finals towards Alingsås. We won 30-25. The quarter finals the Handbollsligan in handball are played between the same teams and first to 3 wins reaches the semis. So up to 5 games in total in this round. Fingers crossed we will win the first 3 games and advance straight to the semi rounds. Next game on Thursday and this time an away game.

I treated myself to a soccer jersey – because I am worth it – and picked it up on the way to the arena. Always fun to wear the correct jersey to games and show support. A colleague of mine came along tonight and I think she enjoyed the game. My parents drove me home afterwards. Thank you for a fun evening!

Celebrations

My hubby’s aunt turned 90 years old a while back and today we finally managed to gather most of the family for a brunch to celebrate her! It was a beautiful sunny Sunday and it was a very nice family lunch. We brought this bouquet of tulips and forgetmenots for her.

After the brunch I went over to my parents to cheer on our team in the premier of the soccer season and we managed to win 3-1. Yeah! Good start. Fingers crossed we will keep it up! Next time we are facing much harder resistance though in an away-game – but that game will we enjoy together in our living room  in our paradise.

Me-time

Finally the day has come when I had some me-time with a massage booked. Haven’t been there since December for various reasons and it was just perfect.

Today Allsvenskan started – the national soccer tournament. We have a battle at work with 60% of my colleagues participating in our own tournament. Hopefully I will be able to make smart choices of players and score some points. Did ok today with the first couple of games. Our team is playing tomorrow – going to watch it with my parents. Fun!
