Flowers

It is so pretty outside right now with all the lilacs in bloom everywhere. Love it. They are gorgeous and they smell gorgeous too.

I have neglected the house a bit lately so I have been a busy bee all afternoon today doing laundry, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping floors and finally – making dinner for me and my boys. Hubby is out late tonight with his colleagues. I might do the same tomorrow night depending on if all of us can make it or not.

Now I’m going to catch up on some series when I have the TV to myself. First out – “Bridgerton” – season 3.

Time to say goodbye

Today we said goodbye to our dear colleague and attended his funeral and memorial afterwards.

It has been a real reminder of how quickly your life can slip thru your fingers. Be grateful for every day. Be sure to appreciate what you have and let your family know that you care. Stop for a minute and breathe. Life is too short to waste it on things that doesn’t matter.

The flower on the photo was the wreath from my work. So very pretty!

Game night

New week – new challenges. But short day at work so I got an afternoon to myself. Nice.

Met up with my dad for another game night – this time at the stadium with a home game for our team. What we had hoped to be a win turned out to be a 0-2 loss. Bummer. They really need to start to win the games – only 3 wins, 3 ties and 5 losses so far and down to 11th place. New game on Sunday – away this time.

Castle of the month – Taxinge on Mother’s day

Mother’s Day and my boys greeted me with a present this morning. Aaah. Loved it.

After lunch we went on a small trip to Nykvarn and visited Taxinge Castle where they have a café serving 69 different kinds of goodies. Mmm. My youngest had to study for a presentation tomorrow but my oldest came along. And we had a great visit even though the two things we had picked out before the visit wasn’t on the menu today. Bummer. But, we found something else to choose so the visit was a success anyway.

Tonight we have bbq try tip served with veggies and fries. Mmm.

Celebrations

A bit tired today… lol. But it was worth it! We had a great time last night.

We did our regular Saturday chores along with some laundry and also baked a Swedish mud cake for the celebrations.

This afternoon we gathered the family to celebrate Ms birthday and also Mother’s Day. We were able to sit outside in the lovely weather. A bit chilly in the shades but quite warm in the sun. We had a nice time.

Now we have bbq some chicken and corn on the cob for dinner. Mmm.

Great eve

We had a summer event planned at work as a fun party before the summer. We decided to not cancel and instead enjoy an evening together remembering our dear colleague and honor him and his work.

We started with a drink outside on our terrace to be followed by catered food and a lot of music and great talks. It was a really good evening and I am so grateful for my amazing colleagues whom we all consider being extended family members. This very tight connection makes our loss even harder to come to terms with but also great support since we all feel the same and have each other to lean on.

I got home very late (or early which ever you prefer) – so I’m going to be a bit tired tomorrow I assume.

Quarter final

Long day at work – quite busy. Tonight I walked over to my dad to watch the soccer game together on TV. Not a great game and we only tied 2-2 (should have been a win).

What’s even worse is that our pride and joy – Tre Kronor – lost the quarter finale in the World Cup in ice hockey towards Latvia. Bummer. So,  over and out. They had only one loss all tournament and did great but this very important game was too much for them. Oh well.

Celebrations

Not a great idea to stay out after midnight on a work night, but what the heck. If it doesn’t kill you it will make you stronger, right?! Lol.

Last night my family sent me this photo from the birthday celebrations for my son together with his grandparents, brother and cousin. Melts my heart! So glad they had a great evening together! Thank you!

Oh – note to close family – be sure to look for the invite in your Facebook, I have set up an event. Please let me know if you will be able to attend.

Depeche in concert

First of all – congratulations, dear son, on your birthday! I’m sorry we will not spend the day together, or even the evening, but your grandparents will treat you to a nice dinner and I’m sure you will have a great birthday!

Finally the day has come – time to enjoy another Depeche Mode concert! This time the Memento Mori Tour and just like last time held in Friends Arena. And they delivered! A great mix of old and new – great musicians and boy – Dave and Martin can still sing!! 40+ years as a group and 15 full studioalbums later they have a lot to chose from.

The ending of this evening was absolutely fenomenal and I will cherish it for a long time. The trip back home afterwards took close to 2 hrs due to traffic and lack of commuter trains and subway. But, I loved our evening and I am so glad we got to go.

Back to work

Back to work again after a great break. The lilacs almost started to bloom while we were down there. So pretty.

Had a good afternoon after work and actually found myself a dress for the funeral next week. Perfect. A dark blue one that was just what I had in mind. One less thing to worry about.

Now I’m going to make dinner for my boys. Picked up some groceries on my way home and I’m going to make burgers, I think.
