Summer came back today. It’s been really hot and humid all day. Bought myself an ice tea on the way home. I love a good ice tea but it has to be sweet – the unsweetened ones are terrible. Festis have come out with this peach version with 50% less sugar which is pretty good. Ice tea is not really popular here though so it is kind of hard to find.

I have had a long day today – worked almost twice as many hours as I was scheduled for. Baked an apple cake when I came home – our apple tree is producing more apples than what we can eat. And I am much better at eating them in a cake or pie than just fresh.. Not doing me any good, I know.

A long day at work and busy in all sort of ways. Tonight we have had my parents in laws over for coffee – it was nice to catch up a bit. They have just arrived back from a trip to Scotland – a country I would love to visit one day. We have talked about going together with my sister and her husband and another couple who are close friends. Maybe in a couple of years we can make it happen.

Guess what I found on my upper arm this evening? A tick. Uäck. He/she had taken a good bite into my shoulder. I wonder where I got it? If I would have been in one of our paradises I would understand it, but here in town? Strange. I have to look into when I am supposed to renew my vaccine towards them.

I can identify with the picture.. summer has been good – no weight loss at all. Lol.

Last week went by so quickly – one work-week already done. Time to get started on another one. My colleague is on vacation this week so I will be extra busy. My guess is this week will go by just as quickly since there will be no slow moments.

After work I met up with my youngest for a doctors appointment. Didn’t get home until 5 pm so it was a full day anyway. Not much else planned these next couple of days. Just work work work. Next weekend we will celebrate my youngest niece who is turning 14. Yeah.

Today it is the anniversary for us becoming God-parents for K. We try to keep up a tradition in remembering the day with a little something and we gave her a present last night at the movies. This pic was taken the day before her birthday in May.

A long lazy day – been grocery shopping and a quick run to the collecting point of waste to get rid of paper, glass and metal garbage – but nothing other than that. Now I have enjoyed a great game of handball where Denmark managed to defeat France in the final of the Olympics. Wow. Denmark have played a great tournament.

Weekend. First week back to work after summer vacation done. Time to sort out the house – do some vacuuming, laundry, cleaning. Picked some of the apples and made a pie. Cut the rose-hip bush and now I look like I had a fight with a cat. Lol.

Our youngest was supposed to go and see a movie tonight but one of his friends got sick so we decided to go and see another movie instead with the family. We called my nieces and their dad and they went along too. So we all went to see “Tarzan the legend” with Alexander Skarsgård and Samuel L Jackson. We all enjoyed it.

What a boring day. Rain rain rain and quite chilly. Feels like fall. What happened to the summer? Gone in a flash. It’s hard to cheer up when you have to start wearing fall clothes immediately after returning from summer holiday.

Tucked in my corner relaxing after a long day at work. Tomorrow we have a great soccer game to look forward to. Our ladies managed to go all the way to the finals in the Olympics. Defeating both the US in the quarter finals and then Brazil in the semi. With 60.000 people cheering on Brazil and 100 cheering on Sweden in the Macarana stadium. Lol. But we did it! After penalty kicks in both games.

Midweek and time for our youngest to start school again after his summer holiday. Same school and program as his brother graduated from in June – with just a small change in direction – web programming instead of focus on the college prep one. Tonight we have been to the first parent meeting and now we’re off. Three more years then another graduate is ready for the world.

Fall has begun for almost all of us now – time to get busy again. But we have a fun weekend away planned in a couple of weeks to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Yeah!

Important day for the Swedish ladies. First the soccer team plays the semi final towards Brazil and then the handball team plays quarter final towards Norway. And in between it is the last episode of “Allsång på Skansen”. My corner is my best friend this evening – I’m not going anywhere besides to get some more coffee or a snack. Maybe.

Back in business. First day at work for a whole month. And my oldest sons first day at college. We all went up fairly early to get ready. Stockholm was a bit grey today and after my day at work I met up with F, K & S at Gröna Lund for an afternoon of fun. My husband was supposed to be there too but he couldn’t find any parking so he just dropped them off and went back home again. So, I ended up watching bags and watching happy kids all afternoon while the youngsters amused themselves. Unfortunately there was a lot of people there so the lines were quite long for each attraction which forced them to chose what to do since there wasn’t time enough to do everything a lot of times. The park had put up signs showing the estimated waiting time for each attraction and it varied between 20-40 min. The lines to get something to eat or drink was equally long.

M had a good first day at college and came home quite late after a dinner get-together. I hope he will enjoy college and I wish him all the best to succeed in his studies.
