Easter day

Easter day and daylight saving time starting today in Sweden.

The forecast had promised a sunny day but it’s been cloudy for the most part. We went for a long walk after breakfast and it was quite nice.

This afternoon it was the premier game for our team in this soccer season so we all gathered up together (well.. most of us) and cheered on our team. And we won 3-1. Yeah! Nice. Great start!

After the game we filled two cars and drove into Borgholm for the yearly dinner at Sörens – a tradition since many years on Easter day. We went to see the rooster on the main square and took a family photo. And the dinner was great – they seldom disappoint!

Now we’ve treated ourselves to some cheese and crackers and a glass of red to end a great Easter weekend. Tomorrow half of the family will drive back to civilization again.

Easter eve

A foggy start of the day but it cleared up as the day went by. We went for a walk after breakfast and it was lovely. We might have received some rain last night so we stayed on the roads rather than walking in the terrain since it was quite wet in the grass.

After lunch the kids went egg-hunting – can’t miss that! A while later they found the treasure and could enjoy their treats.

Today the soccer season started so we watched the premier game on TV. Tomorrow it is our turn – going to enjoy that on TV too! Fingers crossed it will be a good start for us.

For dinner we prepared a traditional “smörgåsbord” of Easter goodies. So nice. Ended the evening watching a movie and playing board games. Now it’s time for bed.

Good Friday

This morning the sun was shining and we had a lovely day ahead. We went grocery shopping right after breakfast and then in the afternoon we went for a long walk – all eight of us – while waiting for my hubby and oldest son to arrive. My youngest son decided to stay in town after all, we miss him already.

Tonight we made fried chicken with Hasselbacks potatoes – yum! Then we played a boardgame and now we have watched Masked Singer. Now it’s time to hug our pillows.

Day in the car

A sunny start of the day. My parents picked me up after breakfast and then we went to pick up my sister. Then we’ve spent the day in the car driving down to our paradise.

Hardly any traffic at all fortunately and the trip went well. Arrived at a rainy paradise in the late afternoon. Now we’ve unpacked and crashed for a bit while waiting for more family members to arrive later on this evening. So nice to have some quality time together – hopefully away from some stress.

Yesterday I came down with some sort of cold and cough but no fever or headache. I took a covid-test this morning to be on the safe side and it was negative. Good.

Time off

Midweek and my last workday for a while. Easter break coming up and tomorrow I’m going down to our paradise with my parents and sister.

I got a lot done at work this morning so I’m ok with being away for a bit. Nothing that stresses me so that’s good.

Been busy this afternoon doing laundry, ironing and packed my bags. Don’t need to bring that much but there’s always a lot of things in the end for some reason. Unfortunately I am getting a cold – I hope it will go away quickly. Runny nose, a slight cough and hoarse voice. But, I feel ok, no fever and no headache so that’s good.

Star for me

This morning we shut down one of our systems at work and updated it with a new way to log into the system. And everything worked beautifully – puh. A star for me and our it manager!  Maybe I can sleep tonight now that I don’t need to worry about that anymore. Perfect.

Had lunch with a dear friend today – our monthly lunch dates are very precious to both of us. Nice.

Got on the same subway as my hubby on the way home. Of course we missed the bus by a minute so we took a walk home instead of waiting for the next bus. Nice. Now we have finished the last leftovers in the fridge – so different meals for all four. Lol.

Soccer

Easter-week means short week. Great. Made a few stops on my way back from work to try and see if I could buy an extra pair of the jeans that I wear, but no such luck. All out. So I ordered them online instead.

Made myself some toast with creamed mushrooms for a late lunch. Mmm. Then some beef for dinner. Saving the leftovers for another day. Lol.

Tonight we have been watching our national soccer team playing a practice international game towards Albania. Haven’t impressed me so far but we are in a 1-0 lead as we speak. They lost towards Portugal 5-2 the other day. Our new team coach is up for a challenge..

Wrong shape

A gray Sunday with some rain – not very inspiring to be outdoors. My hubby went with me to the mall to try and see if I could find something to wear for the birthday party I’ve been invited to in a couple of weeks. No luck. I’m the wrong shape for the clothes available in the stores. Bummer.

We might pick up some dinner tonight. Made some bolognese so that my youngest has some for his lunch boxes. Glad I can help.

Three more days – and quite busy ones – then Easter break! Next weekend we are switching over to summer time too – spring is really arriving now. But the forecast promised some more snow the next couple of days. Oh well.

Me-time

I had booked some me-time this afternoon and it was just what I needed. Almost fell asleep during the massage – perfectly relaxed. Great. Have another massage booked in 3 weeks. Something to look forward to.

Made burgers with mash for dinner – haven’t done that in a while.

Now we’ve crashed in our corners watching another couple of episodes of the Netflix series – “Fubar”. It’s ok. Not great.

Rain

A grey and rainy last day of the week and I really look forward to having a couple of days off. Tomorrow I have some me-time booked – great!

A busy day today with a lot of meetings all day. I got in a bit early and stayed an hour late to assist with the technology in the meeting rooms. Glad I could help.

Now some corner time after a nice family dinner. First episode of Masked Singer starts tonight – might be fun. I have some fun Wordfeud-games going on too – love a challenge! Just look at the amazing start of this game!
