Vintersolståndet

Winter solstice – vintersolståndet. The shortest day of the year. As of tomorrow we will get some more daylight per day. But it will take several weeks before we actually can tell a difference.

Made a shrimp salad for lunch. Trying to be healthy whenever I can. Need to keep up the good work for a while longer. And I guess all the goodies that awaits over Xmas and New Year will not be doing me any favors. Lol.

New restrictions announced today – work from home is now recommended as of Thursday. Good thing we are prepared and able to do so without any bigger hassle.

Santa

Started the day with a quick visit to the hospital for some new blood tests for our youngest. Took a while – a lot of people there this morning. They had put up a sign with information that they had opened a new place for these tests in Skärholmen – hopefully it will unload the pressure some at the hospital if people can go there instead.

Last week of work before Xmas and a busy start. I had promised to help with some work after hours so I worked a long day today.

Santa stopped by with a wonderful Xmas-gift from work. A bag filled with goodies but also a pocket book that someone has chosen for me personally. Such a special gift!

It has become somewhat of a tradition with these books and the previous ones have been a perfect choice for me. This one I have never heard about so it will be fun to see what it is. Anyone read it?

Advent 4th 🕯🕯🕯🕯

So nice with one more day off. My parents-in-law stopped by for a minute to drop something off and then after lunch my dad came round for a bit. We had a nice chat and a coffee and we helped him with his tablet that was making a bother.

Advent 4th and time to light the last candle before Xmas. We had a lovely family dinner – I made oven baked potatoes, steak and a warm bearnaise sauce. Now some corner time and a nice glas of “glögg” (moulded wine). It is Advent 4th after all.

Lazy day

Not much energy today. Regular Saturday chores and time watching skiers and swimmers on the TV.

It is getting dark really early now – the sun was going down already when we drove back from the grocery stores around lunchtime. One more week – then it will start turning. Next week we will get some winter again – snow and below 0C in the forecast. Then it will seem a bit lighter outside and maybe we’ll have a white Xmas.

Making a pulled chicken filet for dinner. Haven’t tried it with chicken before – excited how it will turn out. A nice family dinner. Perfect.

Pyssel – AW

Formation

Today our airforce showed off and flew over us in an Xmas-tree formation. I thought there would be more planes than it was – but still very impressive to see (and HEAR) the eight JAS 39 Gripen in the air.

Long day and quite a productive one. Got a lot done. Our oldest managed to complete one more of his courses in the program today. Yeah! He has really had a busy fall and is making a lot of progress.

Crossword

Midweek and my short day.

Oldest son had another appointment this afternoon and what better way to pass the time while waiting than doing a crossword puzzle? And this time I remembered to bring the magazine with me instead of buying a new one! Some me-time with a latte.

Everything went well and the traffic wasn’t too bad driving back either. Tonight my hubby is treated a dinner from his work so we have ordered some thai-food to be delivered to our house. Nice!

Quarter final tonight. Exciting game! Fingers crossed we will be the winning team – facing France tonight so no easy game.

Ornament

A good day. I completed my assignment that has been tearing me apart for a while. Finally. Now I just hope and pray that I didn’t make any mistakes. That would not be good.

Love my little angels my sis gave me last year for Xmas. They are decorating our tree and are watching over my family. I have a couple of more angels in our tree – one in glas that my mother gave me a few years back and one old one in hay. All Xmas-trees needs a guardian angel (or several). Love them!

We managed to go thru in the handball tournament. Quarterfinal tomorrow awaits facing France. Brrr. Another tough game.

Lucia

Lucia today. Watched the celebrations on tv this morning. We decorated our tree last night so I’m a happy camper right now. So nice to work from home, in our living room, with the scent from the fur tree and Xmas feeling to keep me company.

Took my oldest to the hospital for some more blood tests after work. We have a few appointments scheduled this week for them both.

Important handball game tonight – we need to win in order to have a chance to advance in the tournament. Facing Romania. But even if we do win the advancement still depends on the outcome in the game between Norway and the Netherlands. Fingers crossed.

Advent 3rd 🕯🕯🕯

Another grey and a bit rainy day – no inspiration to take a walk today either. Didn’t sleep well at all last night – and not the night before either. My stress-levels are way too high – I have some work-stuff that won’t leave my mind alone. Need to solve the issues and put them behind me.

We bought our tree today but it is in our garage for the moment to defrost a bit. Might take it in later on this evening. I made a taco-pie for lunch today – regular tacos for my oldest. Going to cook some nice steaks for dinner – a lovely ending of the weekend. Time to light the third candle. One more to go.
