Sesame street

Thursday already. Can’t believe it’s been a whole week since we drove up to the resort. An eventful week to say the least.

Today I walked over to K25 to buy these lunches called Sesame Street from the Vietnamese restaurant Yoi. It’s a marinated chicken served with Sesame-sauce, rice and veggies. Yum!

Tonight we finished off the leftovers in the fridge to start fresh tomorrow when it’s Friday. We had some nice beef in the freezer which will be perfect to start off the weekend with. Maybe a nice red to go with.

Haircut

Midweek already and my short day. I called my hairdresser to see if she had any appointments left for today and she did – so voilà! Perfect! Haven’t had a haircut since before the summer so it was well overdue. 10cm / 3 inches shorter and as good as new.

Got home and sat down for a minute after I started the laundry machine. Going to start dinner in a bit too. Might start another jigsaw puzzle – love putting them together. Perfect mindfulness and distraction.

Back to work

Back to work again and a long day to start with. Still some colleagues at home since the schools start again tomorrow. So, I guess I will have more people around me then.

Had a lunch date today with my friend who works near by. So nice to catch up a bit and talk about our trips and her upcoming trip to Vietnam. Next lunch maybe she has some nice photos to share. Interesting travel destination!

Made pasta with bolognese for dinner tonight. Mmm. Haven’t had pasta in quite a while so I was longing for that. Not sure what we are going to cook tomorrow night yet. Any ideas?

Laundry-day

I had taken Monday off – thought I might need it to catch up a bit around the house and also enjoy a day off.

Before we left I had put the tulips I had in my mold to freeze them. So when we got back I spent half an hour getting the ice block out of the mold – lol – and put a light strand in it to enjoy outside. Love how it turned out! So pretty!

Today I am doing laundry all day. Busy busy. My hubby and youngest left early for work. I had to work too, as it turned out, due to some problems that needed my attention. Oh well. Not too much trouble. My oldest is going in for his treatment this afternoon – he might go by himself I think.

Going to fix a nice dinner for the family in time for when they get back home from a long day at work. Just because!

Driving back

Time to head back to the real world again. We had breakfast and packed up and then the skiers went out to enjoy a few more hours in the slopes before we had to return the cabin keys. Today it was not as cold as it has been but really humid so their goggles got all icy.

My family had lunch in Lindvallen before we left but the others started their journey right away and made a longer stop while powering up their car and enjoy the sandwiches they had made for lunch.

Arrived safely around dinner-time – we picked up some thai on the way. After a long day in the car it was nice to be home and sit down for a meal together.

Thank you for a great weekend and for tagging along with us! Love spending quality time together!

Treat in the slopes

This morning we went down to rent skis for F since his feet hurt really bad from snowboarding. This was a great decision – he could ski all day long and had a great time. We might need to replace his snowboard shoes for next season.

It was still cold today but not as freezing as yesterday so the skiers could stay out all day. They enjoyed waffles with different toppings (this one with rhubarbs ) and whipped cream as a treat for lunch. Me and M got the car and went grocery shopping and also stopped by Burger King for a bite to eat. Me and M have enjoyed another quiet day relaxing, reading and regaining energy.

Tonight we treated ourselves to a dinner out at Gustav Grill & Bar. Four of us shared a mixed grill platter and it was delicious! Locally produced meat of different sorts. It was a very nice evening!

Very cold..

Woke up to a freezing -29C / -20F … but very sunny, no wind and clear blue sky!

The enthusiastic skier and snowboarders went out right after breakfast and could see the sunrise up on the mountain top.

Me and M took a walk over to the mini-market and got us some lunch that we had prepared for the skiers when they arrived back to the cabin to de-frost and warm up.

Tonight we picked up some pizza before it was time to cheer on our junior hockey-layers playing the finale. They lost towards the US but gained a silver, which is great!

Day of travel

Arrived safely after a full day in the car! It wasn’t too much traffic but quite slippery at times. We stopped for lunch half way and met up with the others.

A beautiful sunny day but very cold. Love the drive along the river as we get closer to the mountains. So pretty.

We arrived a bit early for collecting the cabin keys so we stopped for groceries while waiting.

I cooked us some dinner while the others unpacked and then we just crashed in the sofa for a bit before it was time to hug the pillows.

Work day

Great news – we managed to win last night after a thrilling game that was a bit too close to a loss than it had to be. We had a 2-0 lead after half the game which Switzerland managed to catch up with. So, the game went to overtime before we finally managed to win during sudden death. Puh.

I worked between 08.30-13.00 today until my colleague came in and took over for the afternoon. Not very busy but I had things to do which was great.

After work I continued to take away Xmas – collected all the ornaments and decorations and packed them for next year. Also I have packed all the Xmas tree decorations except for the lights. We will take down the tree after the weekend.

It’s been snowing again today and it is about -7C outside. Brrr.

Day off

This morning our youngest went to work and hubby has been working from home all day. They both are starting to feel better, thank God.

I had a day off from work but I’ve been a busy bee all day. Did all the ironing, some laundry, took away X-mas from our kitchen (besides the stars in the windows – they can be there for a while longer), started packing a bit more seriously and getting organized. Helped our oldest to go thru all of his clothes and put a big bag away for donation. Perfect. One step at a time.

It’s been snowing all day long so I’ve been out three times to clear snow away. Only in front of the house though – I haven’t cleared the driveway. Now I’m going to start dinner before it’s time to cheer on our team in the quarter finale in the junior world cup. Facing Switzerland tonight. Hua. Fingers crossed they will go thru an be able to play for the medals.
