Derby

A sunny Sunday! Busy morning doing laundry and also making a lasagna for dinner. After a left-over-lunch my sister picked me up and then we went to get our parents to drive over to Tele2 Arena where our ladies played soccer towards another Stockholm-team, Djurgården. Almost 13.000 people in the audience, which was close to a new record. Fun!

Djurgården scored the only goal – fortunately for us it was in their own goal so Hammarby won 1-0. A very warm afternoon sitting directly in the sunshine for the first half – so glad I brought my cap. We needed to go and get something to drink during the break, which we normally never do.

Happy anniversary, mom & dad! 57 years of marriage! Congratulations! I hope you had a good day cheering on our team together as a family! I loved spending the afternoon with you!

Castle of the month – Nyköpingshus

Castle of the month this time was Nyköpingshus in Nyköping. It is a medieval castle from the Birger Jarl era mostly known for the Nyköping Banquet (Nyköpings gästabud) that took place in 1317.

The palace burned down with the rest of the city in 1665. It wasn’t re-built; in fact some of its bricks were used in the construction of Stockholm Palace. However, parts of the castle were sound enough to be used as county residence until the 1760s. The Kungstornet, that you can see behind us, currently house the permanent exhibits of Sörmlands museum and also a restaurant.

We took a long stroll around Nyköping and walked along the river before it was time to head back home again.

Overnight stay

Got off an hour early today so me and hubby could start our journey to Nyköping where we had booked an overnight stay at the Sunlight hotel. Included in the offer was a three course dinner and also access to their spa facilities. The dinner was delicious starting with a hash brown topped with mushrooms (hubby wasn’t thrilled). Main course was a slow cooked veal with oven baked potatoes and a gravy and a brownie for afters. Mmm.

We skipped the spa since I removed a birthmark a few days ago and needs to heal properly before I enjoy a pool of any sort. But, we went to have a look around and it looked quite nice. Maybe next time.

Afterwork

Thursday and long day at work. Busy busy. A warm sunny day!

After work me and my two admin colleagues went out for a small afterwork dinner as a treat. So nice. We decided to try the restaurant Olli and shared both a few starters and then two main courses. Nice to try a variety of things! Finished the dinner with a scoop of vanilla ice cream with espresso on top along with a cappuccino. Mmm.

A nice treat on a work-night! And tomorrow is already Friday.

Surgery

A very busy day with all sorts of emergencies to sort.

After work I went to my dermatologist for my yearly check-up of my birthmarks and she decided to remove one. No stitches needed, thank God. The result will be in about six weeks. Fingers crossed all is good.

Made salmon for dinner – chicken for the boys. Now we’ve crashed in our corners  and started to watch the first episode of the Netflix series “Who is Erin Carter” with the Swedish actor Evin Ahmad. Shall be interesting – a lot of people recommend it.

Falukorv

A productive day with a lot of meetings and send outs. Today we had lunch at Sturehof – what a treat! We had a great time with good food and conversation. Lovely.

Long day today and I got home in time to make dinner. Made “falukorv” with baked white beans and potatoes. Haven’t had that in quite a while – love baked beans! Sausage is not my favorite though but it’s ok with the beans.

Now we are going to watch the first couple of episodes of “Maria Wern” from last week. Haven’t had time before.

Sunshine

New week already but I loved my weekend at the stadium with my parents. Next weekend we are going to a different stadium – to watch soccer this time.

Busy week ahead but a fairly slow start. Could enjoy a sunny afternoon as I got off early and strolled thru the city for a bit.

Made a nice dinner for the family and hubby started the bbq when he got home and cooked the meat on the grill. Mmm.

Finnkampen – day 2

Another day spent at our Olympic Stadium in Stockholm cheering on our team. And what a thrilling day it was – we didn’t know who won until the very last event. Hua. So glad we could go and have a fun day together – and no rain today at all!

Results after the second day:
Men Sweden 227 – Finland 227 – Sweden won due to most won events!!!
Women Sweden 228,5 – Finland 225,5

Boys Sweden 96 – Finland 126
Girls Sweden 105 – Finland 118

After the competition mom and dad come along and we had dinner at home together. My hubby bbq pork filet – mmm.

Also a very exciting derby today where our team managed to win 4-2. Yeah! Go Bajen!

Finnkampen – day 1

Time for the old traditional track & field competition – Finnkampen. A two nations game between Sweden and Finland that started back in 1925 and the two countries arrange the competition every other year. This year it was held in Stockholm and me and my parents attended.

A fun afternoon / evening packed with track events. Sweden in a slight lead after the first day for both the men and the women. Finland in a greater lead for the boys and girls.

Results after the first day:
Men Sweden 104 – Finland 101
Women Sweden 114,5 – Finland 112,5

Boys Sweden 50 – Finland 66
Girls Sweden 57 – Finland 60

Tomorrow is the second day of the event! Fun fun fun.

Friday

Friday again – can’t believe how quickly time flies. Decided to work from home – haven’t done that in quite a while. So nice to get an extra hour sleep and no need to commute.

Before work I managed to go and pick up my dental record. I have decided to change dentist to one closer to work and they asked me to bring my record from my old dentist. Hopefully this will be a wise decision.

After work I had extra time on my hands since I didn’t have to travel so I have done some laundry, ironing and also a home cooked dinner for the family. Nice. Now some corner time before it is time to hug the pillow.
